  1. Apologies for the error. As pointed out by Crossy, use the wall switch to turn tvs off, not just the remote off button.
  2. Fair enough. I was meaning using the off switch on the remote, which isn't actually off, apparently. I don't unplug my devices, so I guess that was a "senior" moment.
  3. I do love a good sunset. This morning I was up before dawn and the sunrise was spectacular. One makes the best of what one has, but one also needs hope and a purpose in life to be fulfilled. It's hard to be positive on the scrapheap of society. I do not fear death, rather I fear living too long.
  4. Maybe last century. Not so now. Oh, the crime reporting certainly is like ground hog day- another day another shooting, another ram raid by teenagers.
  5. Tourists don't need to drink wine, eat crisps, chocolate, Biscuits, Pickled Onions, Cheese or Cashews nuts. If you are an expat and can't afford food you like; should you be living in LOS?
  6. but only the first 3 ( + food which is also cheap ) are necessary.
  7. It used to be cheap, which is why I went there.
  8. LOL. I suppose some might, but I'd never have paid for a fat one anyway. I was never that desperate.
  9. That should be "I would rather be a tradesman in Australia".
  10. They used to eat a lot of rice and veges with some pork, chicken or fish till western junk food became cheap enough to buy, and I rarely saw a fat one back then.
  11. I can't say for sure that you are targeting me, but; I hate that proper owners can't have decent weapons to deal with the bad people when they break the door down. I want abortion on demand, no questions asked, for free. The world is overpopulated and we need to reduce it in any way we can. I have no problem with homosexuals so long as they don't flaunt it in my face. I wish we had an equivalent of the NHS, or at least free for pensioners. Benefits are not a gift for the deserving; they are why we paid taxes most of our life. If the pension isn't large enough to be able to live in accommodation with running water and toilet facilities in the same building it's not large enough. I don't know that "daddy" will never abandon us. They gave up and walked away from Vietnam after losing billions of $ and 50,000 US lives. We are far away, only 5 million people and we won't let the US navy in our ports.
  12. Shower with cooler water, or convert to gas fired. use fans and not ac heat water with gas not electric use led bulbs indoors don't need exterior lighting on all the time. Sensor activated if needed. Unplug small electronic devices when not in use. Some, like tvs, use power even when switched off.
  13. I know what you are saying, but sometimes due to ill health, lack of money etc one has no decent present and no hope of better to come. Sometimes the past is all one has to keep living. I blame no one else for my problems which were caused by my own stupidity in trusting the wrong people.
  14. The problem is it is in the US, so that makes it a non starter. Never had any desire to go there.
  15. LOL. I never met any woman in my country worth it ( I did live with someone for years, but it was a mistake ). Conversely, I met loads of girls in LOS that were worth it, but because I couldn't stay in LOS they were temporary partners. I paid far more to the western woman that exploited me, than ever I paid a Thai woman.
  16. I didn't need one either, but I enjoyed it, so why not? We can be alone after we die. I don't miss either of my ex's, but I miss being with someone that I care about.
  17. I doubt that is LOS. I've never seen a family with that many kids in LOS. Most have only 2, that I've seen.
  18. I don't get any picture. Has it been deleted?
  19. IMO the west is done. Most just don't know it ( yet ). NZ supported the US in Vietnam. That's worth something, considering the UK didn't.
  20. Don't know to whom you are referring but; public health care in NZ is a far cry from that in the UK, and is expensive to see a GP which we have to do for many drugs available over the counter in LOS. Taxpayers support public health- not the government. I have no problem with owning weapons. I'd feel safer with an assault rifle than I do without one. Guns are not the problem- stupid or bad owners are. I've killed plenty of animals, but I never did it for "sport". If you eat meat, you must by definition support killing animals, and in the case of venison- Bambi. Daddy isn't around any more. Unfortunately the present government seems to think the military is some sort of social service, and not a lethal arm of government.
  21. When did I ever give the impression that I didn't like living in C M? the night life was worse than rubbish compared to Pattaya, but I had a nice life there otherwise. Any day lived in LOS isn't wasted. I'd rather have lived in Pattaya, but C M was cheaper.
  22. Make it worthwhile and there are probably thousands of NZers that would emigrate there to get away from the low wage high cost of living in NZ. Already plenty there or on their way.
  23. LOL. The answer is self evident. I take it that is a rhetorical question.
  24. Lap dances in LOS? Do tell us where such are to be found. No doubt where all the strip clubs are, and do you put 100 baht notes in their garter?
