BLM at it again in Gov.Walz’s Minneapolis streets …
JAG replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
They probably imagine that they are lean mean steely eyed killers! And people accuse you and me and various others of being deranged! It is not just mind-boggling, it is also a sign of a very strange phenomenon! Apart from anything, even allowing for platitudes about "slinging some nice iron", they wouldnt last two minutes against any trained troops! The only risk they pose is to the floorboards! -
Report Thai Roads: Quiet Amidst Chaos, The Culture of Low Horn Use
JAG replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I have to say that a lot of horns here, particularly on lorries, seem to emit an undignified squawk like a ruptured duck rather than a motor vehicle warning device. I have always rather put that down to them being worn out by overuse, they seem to use them at every opportunity! -

Yes! Not so much a case of "targets will fall when hit" as "targets will wibble and will wobble but not fall down when hit"! -
BLM at it again in Gov.Walz’s Minneapolis streets …

I would have thought that an upward trajectory would have indicated that the firer was in the prone position, which rather indicated to me that thete was a degree of premeditation. My training on small arms bullet performance is perforce limited (I was an Artilleryman and therefore accustomed to larger calibres and longer ranges) however some observation has indicated that a 5.56 mm round "tumbles" on entering the body, meaning a small entry wound and a convoluted path through the body, with a very large exit wound, often not in line with the point of entry; which would make the sort of forensic analysis you describe rather inconclusive. -
French Efforts to Curb Illegal Crossings Come Too Late for British Politics
JAG replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I was going to respond, but my poor old Samsung Galaxy J2 cannot cope with finding the "roll on the floor laughing emoji", and then I thought, don't bother, there really is no point if he puts it down to "Brexit"! -
Quite remarkable! He must have been on a special course! I mean, no one could be such a "nob head" naturally, now could they!

I must confess that I am surprised. I had thought that their relationship would endure, both had something the other craved, money and power. I have posted that a couple of times. Perhaps I reckoned without their respective egos? Trump may have found another source of cash - the Middle East perhaps? Still, jolly entertaining. And probably more entertainment to come when both parties inevitably start talking about principles!

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "I'm dying for a Big Mac" doesn't it! Maybe not a lot of "dash, down, observe, sights, return fire," though! -
What are the women like in Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang?
JAG replied to Harrisfan's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
What are the women like in Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang? Soft and lumpy as far as I recall! -
Left foot is done. Right foot is a twisted mess following surgery to cut away infected flesh ( down to the tendons) following stepping on a sharp wire which penetrated deep in between the smaller toes, which have ended up twisted together. Has to be done by the medics, under a local anasthetic.

Not so much police, as troops armed and equipped (including armoured vehicles) and looking for a fight. Perhaps that is why they were there - looking to start trouble? Not a particularly good image for the "land of the free"! -
Trump faces 'test case' as he's put in 'complete opposition' to his base

Trump faces 'test case' as he's put in 'complete opposition' to his base

That's a bit like claiming that the deportation (and worse) of Jews and Slavs was legitimate because The Third Reich needed "Lebensraum"! -

JAG replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
Aha, @Etaoin Shrdlu, you are being called out for lying! Definitely hit a nerve there! Edited to note: I see I am a liar as well! I don't know about you, but when the usual suspects resort to accusing me of lying, I take it as a badge of honour! Maybe we need a new emoji - "speaks with forked tongue" -
That will probably make the bread and milk taste funny!

Spot on. -
Perhaps the inevitable conclusion - the USA will not be able to afford the discretionary spending! Massive cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. They are clearly coming down the line!
-
Hey, he was only boasting the other day how he came back from his trip to the Gulf States with Trillions of Dollars in cash - no paperwork! Just a few more trips over there and that's the defect squared away! I really don't see what people are so concerned about!

I certainly agree with your final paragraph. Whilst the end result may not result in total bankruptcy, it will certainly hugely diminish the US in terms of global trade. Perhaps rather like the Soviet Union in it's last two decades. Reliant on it's own production, inherently officially hostile to importing, drawn in upon itself, suspicious of ( hostile to) much of the world beyond it's borders yet basically unable to manufacture the modern products it's consumers wanted, and relatively little on offer for export to an increasingly sophisticated outside world.

You should get an award for that post! Something along the lines of: " The Mother of all Senseless Word Salad Rants"!

Perhaps because one of the planks on which they campaigned, and were elected to power, was the intention to sort it out. Of course, their preferred tactics, "smashing the gangs" has proved to be a non starter, but the municipal authorities of Calais are very grateful for the money which has flowed in their direction.

I really don't know, but they clearly mean business - the bloke in charge has hung his jacket on the back of his chair and is working in shirtsleeves!

That is remarkably disingenuous even by your standards Chomper. It is absolutely clear, and made so by several senior figures in the present government, that this massive increase is the result of unfettered and often illegal immigration. The problem? That they, as with their hopeless predecessors, are unable to get their act together to get it under some semblance of control.
