JAG replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Since school children are unlikely to have B2000 on them, this will be a non starter! -
Trade Talks Between US and China Hit a Snag, Says Treasury Secretary
JAG replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Perhaps the Chinese declined to kiss the spray tanned arse? -
Oh I don't know - putting him in deep cover as Captain Flack, commander of the Trumpton Fire Brigade was a stroke of genius! PS: non Brits may need to Google "Trumpton firemen images" to understand...

Heathrow CEO Slept Through Major Power Outage as Phone Was on Silent
JAG replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Why on earth did they not send someone round to his house to bang on the door? In any half baked organisation there will be a duty officer whose job involves calling in key personnel. This fellow earns £3 million +, phone being on silent is a totally unacceptable excuse!- 24 replies

What's the dullest place in Thailand?
JAG replied to Tuco Ramirez's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There is dull, and then there is Bob! -
In towns like Porth, the police presence consists of the occasional patrol car driving through the town. Policing, including any form of investigation, is confined to big towns. The police have effectively withdrawn from the rural areas.

Report Bangkok Cab Incident Sparks Debate on Passenger Rights
JAG replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Perhaps she should have gone outside and waved down taxis, continuing to do so for however long it took to find one for whom her destination was convenient. Then, having negotiated a price (the meter being broken no doubt) she could have clambered into the piss stained interior, with the knotted seat belts, whilst the driver adjusted his mirror so he could see up her skirt. These are just some of the advantages of using a properly regulated taxi service. -
An image which I really wish you had not conjured up!

Frankly, the vast majority of stuff flogged on Lazada is absolute rubbish. Office chairs, a desk, electric fans, thumb drives are just a few of the examples of stuff I have foolishly bought from them in the last few months, which have either fallen apart or just don't work. In particular thumb drives which will only hold a fraction of their advertised capacity! The trouble is, I am a cripple, fairly immobile, live a fair way out of town and can no longer drive a car (bizarrely they took my car license away for medical reasons but let me keep my motorcycle license!); that together with being a bit of a "Pollyanna" when it comes to online shopping, which doesn't help!

Some people did Something: She’ll do just fine in her new DC position …

He doesn't run anything past Congress any more does he? Rule by Sharpie! Incidentally, after the 120 days are up, presumably he can appoint another nominee; when that person's 120 days are up, or even sooner, can Jeanine Pirro be appointed again? Perhaps no one imagined that rules to cover such a possibility would ever be needed? -
Don't Eat Jew Food! Says Hamas leader from...Beirut

Definitely suffering in sympathy! -
I haven't followed the Tate brothers imbroglio at all. Am I correct in thinking that they are a couple of modern day pimps, who instead of cruising red light districts in cars taking money off girls, have harnessed the internet and social media to do the same thing?

And you have previously poured scorn upon just about every aspect of their society, culture, cuisine and all their "service industries". I can't help wondering why you live here! It can't be for financial reasons, in various of your previous incarnations you have told us that you are extremely wealthy!

Declared or found? There is a significant difference. The establishment simply seems him and his political clan as rivals. As long as he is on the scene they are unable to relax, their cosy monopoly of government and the eye watering wealth it brings them is not secure. Don't think that this " group of esteemed senior physicians" from Chulalongkorn University" are acting out of concern for medical ethics! They are part of the establishment, Chulalongkorn University is at it's core, and are laying down a marker with the side they think will win.

Frost was brilliant. David Jason had a remarkable range as an actor : Granville, Del Boy Trotter and Inspector Jack Frost. Morse required one to really concentrate, but again was brilliantly written and acted!

One must be careful about terminology! I do remember, during one exercise in the United States, our soldiers were vastly amused by our American counterparts complaining about the discomfort of having to wear "suspenders"! Eventually we realised that by "suspenders" they meant their web equipment! Mind you, British webbing was widely believed to have been designed by a woman who hated men!

It is beyond obvious that the income from trimming beards and haircuts can't even begin to cover the costs of running the enterprises, particularly when you have so many clustered in small towns like this. However the larger towns and cities are awash with cash from drug dealings, and it has to be laundered, the banks wont touch it. It has to be passed through " legitimate businesses". Drive with your thousands of £ to a nearbye small town, parcel it out amongst half a dozen "barber shops", job done!
