Maybe a book. "What to buy on Amazon for Dummies"

I consistantly buy from Lazada. Never had a problem. Returned several items. I don't understand what the fuss is all about.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but while we are on the topic of courier deliveries. I live in the CBD, but in a very awkward Soi to find. I so wish Lazada & the like would ditch address & replace with GPS co-ordinates. Just a thought.

Beer Lao is the best beer in SE Asia in my opinion, just wish it was not taxed so heavily.
Don't you understand ? BeerLao is imported, international drop. Has to come across the Mekong.

"For instance, beer manufacturers are required to have at least Bt10 million in registered capital." I think I might be missing something here. Please correct me if I'm on the wrong bus. A beer manufacturer is only required to have Bt10 million in capital ? We retired peasants have to have Bt 800,000 tied up in a bank account to remain in the Kingdome. Bt 10 million is a fair chunk of change, but only about 13 times more than the 800,000 we have sitting idle. What am I missing ?

A substantial speed bump just prior to the crossing would help.

As stated above, find a home builder in your area, pick a model and have them quote it.
What's cheapest does not make any difference if you can't find anyone to do it, or if the construction is inappropriate for the area.
What's cheapest for the area, is likely going to be what
everyone elseall the Thais are doing in your area. You also need to decide what level of comfort you expect. Construction with and without AC would be very different.
Thanks. Definitely air in the bedroom, probably whole house.

60 sqm is a very small house ....
anyways, your best solution would be ;
Concrete block rendered with zincalume roof sheeting is the way to go .... imo
The problem with the ' sheera board ' cladding on steel frame is that it looks tacky , and it's construction is time consuming with cutting, drilling, fixing etc ... ( find me a builder who can do a professional job ? )
prices will vary depending on the builder, how far he has to travel every day, also how far to the nearest hardware store, block supplier etc ....
If the builder is nearby and has suppliers at his disposal then price could be as low as 8,000 per sqm.
The other problem with pricing now is that everything has increased somewhat, blocks, concrete, roofing, re-bar, steel, sand etc .... therefore making it very hard to put a figure on house construction.
Your best bet is to find something you like and get a quote on fully constructed to lock up. Check it includes all electrical and plumbing obviously.
A couple of nice homes below with tiled roofs :
Agreed, a very small house. I guess you could call it a granny, or more appropriately a grandad flat. The site is on the outskirts of a reasonably sized town, not city. all supplies available locally.

Hi all ???? I realize this is a very basic, open ended question. But I have to start somewhere. I'm contemplating building a small, one bedroom house, I mean having built, within 12 to 18 months time. It will be my retirement home. I don't need any advice or info on the land aspect, that's already sorted.
I'm thinking between 50 & 60 sq. m. No decision on base of the house as yet. Concrete slab. Raised on concrete or steel stumps. Wouldn't want it to be anymore than 1 m above ground level. Suggestions, advice please.
First question is what is the cheapest, most economical construction material, method?
1. Concrete block & rendered.
2. Framed & clad. I don't mind the "Sheara type" cladding. I guess steel frame ? Drywall interior ?
3. Other.
4. Corrugated gal roof ?
Any idea of cost per sq. m ?
Thanks all.

Hi all. Some help please. I have installed a new, large screen, audio unit into my car. Is it possible to upload, install, software into this unit. If so I guess via the USB port ? I have a spotify account & am not sure how to install, download into the new unit. Needless to say not at all IT literate. Thanks.

I am suspecting that for those who have renewed their passports while in Thailand but have visited immigration since then (e.g. did their annual extension), it will still not work ????
I hope I am wrong..
Why are you suspecting it to not work ?

I flew in & out of DMK last week. Not sure about renovations but it was modern, clean & very well presented. I don't think trying to compare the two airports is comparing apples to apples.

I'm somewhat surprised no one has commented on your lead in to the post. How you own a condo just to lounge all day before returning home. Tad vain me thinks. The jimmy jam issue could have been the topic without the unnecessary intro. Just my opinion.
