  1. Check for 3rd party credit checking companies. I had similar issues. I was referred to my bank when transaction delined. Contacted bank, no problem with the card. Nothing at all on  screen showing any issue, card or otherwise. Took screen shot of transaction decline. In small print top of screen shot noticed "wind cave", did research. Found they are a credit checking mob. Contacted them. Didn't want to know about the issue. Contacted the merchant, trader. Informed them I would be taking my business elsewhere. They requested I try transaction againin a few minutes. Bingo, transaction accepted. Not sure of the background to windcave & merchant relationship but appears the merchant can, will, in these instances overridre delined transaction. Hope this might assist.

  2. I've had major dental work in both Chiang Mai and Sakon Nakhon. Both female dentists. I am fobic when it comes to dentists. And I mean a professional woos. I can't recommed these ladies highly enough. I "almost" look forward to regular check ups. Do your homework. Ask for recommendations. Way more professional & empathetic than back home. And at a fraction of the cost.

And what did you do for 7 hours?

I recall waiting at that airport last year ,hardly any seats and crowded

Wandered. Looked at others in same prediciment. Contemplated, life & why I had decided on this trip. As in Philippine Airline flight as to direct flights. Beat myself up on such a crazy decision. But most distressing... no beer available to transit travellers. How's that old song go.... I will survive..

  4. Hi all. A bit of info please.

I've just been advised, due to flight time change, I'll have a 6 hour stopover in Manila. I've heard it's not a great airport. Is it worth exiting the transit lounge for a wander, look about, or better stay put in transit ?

    Any recent personal experiences ?

    Thanks.

NO --- they are not qualified do not do a appentaship as you would in uk .as i did

No, they are not qualified. They do not do an apprenticeship as is done in the UK, as I did.

Irrespective of his qualifications he knew what he was doing. Extremely neat, professional work. When I asked about an earth, he showed me that was already done. In my opinion he was "a qualified" Thai electrician.

  6. As I've mentioned previously. Go to your local PEA office. Ask if any of their staff do after hours work. I did this when doing a major reno. A guy in their planning dept was an electrician. Did a whole rewire of our reno. Great work & not too expensive.

Australia has no alps.  Prices are eyewateringly high in Australia...as you will find out.

But it online here in Thailand on shopee or lazada....literally thousands to chose from.  Camping is very fashionalble now in Asia.

The season of your visit is also important.  If you are visiting the southern highlands.  Very cold in the winter buy very hot in the summer.

By the way.  Hiking in Tasmania will be a lot more rewarding for you.

I'm glad I don't rely on you for weather & geography info.

What is an interesting fact about the Australian Alps?

The alps are also home to unique cold climate adapted plants and animals—from alpine daisies to snow gums, and from mountain pygmy possums to migratory Bogong moths. Due to their high peaks and seasonal snow, the Australian Alps strongly influence the hydrology of eastern Australia.

You and others have just highjacked the thread so you can talk about yourselves. If you'd read the ops numerous threads you'd see he isn't clinically depressed as you lot describe

I dont spend all my time reading every post, apparently you do. I was trying to offer something positive. I don't intend playing keyboard pingpong, so, it's goodnight from me.
