  1. Hi, does anyone have any up to date information about the ice rinks in Bangkok and where they are situated. I already know the one in imperial world, Bangna but believe there is another one but I don't fancy trekking round Bangkok (especially in current circumstances) trying to find it so I wondered if anyone knows for certain where this mythical place is.

    Many thanks for your help

  2. Why should the British tax payer financially support child care in Thailand?

Presumably the op has paid tax in the UK for most of his working life and is more than entitled to claim the adult dependancy allowance!!

British expats get screwed on the pension increases every year so why shouldn't we claim everything else that we can?

  3. I got a residence certificate in July in order to get my motorbike licence but for various reasons have never managed to get round to getting to the driving licence office.

I have a non imm o visa extended for retirement and I have been told that the certificate should be valid until my next 90 day report, does anyone know if this is true or do I need to get a new one.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. Liquid diamond sounds like the stuff - sorry it's been a few years since I used it, forgot the exact name. I used to buy it from a shopping channel in the UK called QVC. Also it is important to try and file your nails into a square shape (if they are long enough) as filing them round will make them even weaker.

  5. Just my opinion but I would try a product called diamond nails first, it is like a clear nail polish but actually strengthens your own nails, if you have nail problems now they will only get worse if you try acrylics.

You can buy diamond nails on the internet or possibly from some drug stores in the US, it's not expensive but I'm sure it will help you, also drink plenty of milk

  6. I want to try accupuncture for an ongoing muscle problem can anyone recommend a good accupuncturist in the Pattaya area?

    All help much appreciated. :o

  7. We all need to be aware about overcharging, not long ago in homeworks the cashier tried to charge me b2,000 for a b300 tin of paint, some sort of error with the barcode.

Whether it is b50 or b5000 it is not acceptable and I doubt that we would have any chance of a refund if we didn't notice the mistake until after we had left the shop.

Some thai sales assistants are far too careless when it comes to farang money, they look at you with absolute shock if you question a price or ask for a discount so it wouldn't surprise me that they take less care when adding up our bill.

  8. Also I would check the baggage allowance on your flight. Airlines are a lot stricter nowadays and many have also reduced baggage allowances and they don't always tell you. When I flew here in February two days before my flight I called the booking agent to check a few things and found out the baggage allowance had been reduced from 30k to 20k.

  9. If the wheels are already in motion then go for it, you only live once and no one on their death bed says I wish I had worked a bit harder.

Just don't go crazy - easier said than done I know and keep a small reserve in case you have to go back to the UK.

If you run out of money in a couple of years go back to the UK and crash at a mates place till you get back on your feet then so be it. You're young enough to be able to start again.

Stay single - go on dates, buy her a meal and a few drinks - no commitment or sick buffalos. You've made one mistake, it happens just learn from it, have fun and try to be careful.
