Thanks for all your replies everyone. I must admit it is very tempting to just do a TEFL and see if I can get hired but a waste of money if I can't. Plus the fact that I want to do things properley (work permit and all that) so I will look into what universities offer online courses bearing in mind of course the advice I have been given. Many thanks again for all your help.

If I were to obtain an online batchelors degree from an accredited university either in the UK or the US plus a TEFL certificate obtained in Thailand would this be sufficient to obtain a teachers licence. I have time to study for a couple of years before I need to get a job and staying in Thailand is no problem for me as I am here as a dependant of my husband. Failing this is it possible to get an internationally recognised BA from a university in Thailand. All help greatly appreciated, many thanks.

Hull are very friendly helpful and friendly and do issue Visas on the spot, when I went I made and appointment and the process only took a few minutes.
I know that. But Glasgow and Liverpool have more charm than Hull (sorry any Hullsiders/Hullites who may be reading!!)
As Brigante7 kindly pointed out, Glasgow office does not issue visas, therefore, any Liverpudlians out there to tell me about the office there in Lord Street?
Liverpool do issue visas there and then for an extra £10 on top of the cost of your visa but they would prefer to do it by post and the opening hours are limited. I only spoke to them by phone actually ended up getting my visa in Birmingham. I didn't find them particularly helpful, hence the reason I went elsewhere.

Hi, do any of you ladies have any idea if it's possible to get a french manicure in either Bangkok or Pattaya (I live in between and can travel to both) Have visited various beauticians who don't have a clue what it is and I love my nails french polished. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Mac, who do you get your insurance from? Or is that against the rules - apologies if it is. I have also been told I cannot get first class insurance as my car is too old. Many thanks

Got my bank account with Siam commercial bank in Pattaya in December with a 30 day stamp on arrival, no problems - no questions asked. Did have a thai address to give which may have helped but wasn't asked for any proof.
