  1. No need to fly out, go to British consul service in Bangkok, pay the renewal fee etc. for new passport. Ask for express service. Take the receipt to immigration, pay cost of extension. wait for 2 weeks. receive new passport go to immigration transfer stamps free. and you will be back in business. Be honest and upfront and I am sure you will have no big problems. Unless you have no fixed addressed that you are registered at!

  2. Not really... It doesn't take into account discounts. Sport-tech was available with 100k off and 3 year servicing and breakdown...

Buy what you want... Up to you. I was having a conversation, not an argument.... I'm out.

Ford are doing 50-60K discounts, plus free insurance and some accessories.

Toyota are doing 100K discounts, but up to you to pay for extras..

i.e. They're all doing similar overall deals ATM.

I'm not arguing anything, just giving some facts smile.png

I like the NP300 - I think it's stylish inside and out, but you need to be mindful of local version differences when evaluating reviews & comparisons from overseas. As noted the local version have different rear suspension, and less safety features (only 2 airbags) from export versions. I doubt a local version would rate in any Australian comparison test because of that - but different markets have different priorities.

I didn't see any discounts for the wildtrak ?

You won't see any official discounts on the NP300 or Revo either - you have to negotiate them smile.png

    http://www.newrangerclub.com/thread-42378-1-1.html

Toyota give an allowance of 55,000baht on the top of range Revo, which is used to give you "freebies" The less to you take the more bonus the dealer keeps!.

But seriously is any body having any problems with a Revo Auto gearbox such as clunks and nosy gear changes, or are they normal. Just replaced my MU7 for one so Not sure if the actions are normal! Revo only on 2000 kms and 3 weeks old.

  3. The only problem is that all motorbikes have to have insurance to be taxed. This insurance covers the costs of hospital treatment in an accident. It is the law. If you are unsure about the motorbike insurance for 300 baht to can buy it yourself. If the police have written a report on the accident and the motorbike has the legal insurance,(If not he should claim from the hirer via the police...not all but should be able to get some)) and he has all the receipts from hospital he claim all the monies back. My wife and me got knocked off the Scooby, we received comp and repairs from the driver and the motorbike insurance covered all hospital treatment visits. nearly 10 grand in total.

  4. The only time there is a Police record is if you spend time in prison, and the length of time you have the public record is the length of time you serve. That also includes suspended sentences and other court ordered service work. Drink driving offences are also recorded. Minor offences, warnings and fines are included.

The only problem they might have in Thailand, is the failure to provide some form of education requirement's under the new guidelines to get a work permit. If the school has a good relationship with their local work permit office, and if they issue the WP then the immigration may issue a visa to work. (B). Do it the other way round you may hit a brick wall!

  5. Am I missing something? If you are on a multi-entry visa, you wouldn't need to do a 90 day as you would have to leave every 90 days! If you are 2 days over 7 days allowed, simple go to Doctors get a medical cert stating you where in bed ill, and go to the nearest Immigation office, any office is OK, sad face and cert you will get away with it if not, just pay it ain't a problem! You could post it too, express with the same info, make sure to include return address with postage. and that may save the fine too! just post date the application, they are aware how mail can get stuck in the system.

  6. You have to step up, tell her you are not feeding extended family, they managed before you were on the scene. Expect the rows, but stand up! If you allow her to buy on her own and not go with her, more fool you. You could start slowly by giving her 3000 baht a week to feed you and her. And reduce it if you don't get the food you want.

  7. I am afraid they learn this type of behaviour from Thai soaps. Nearly every soap has some form of actions of girls behaviour to other girls. And with the men it always ends with a gun.

There should be strict rules on the content. Guns should without discussion be banned from all soaps. And girls should have their actions against each other toned down. I am at the point of I don't know when one soap ends and another begins!

  8. It is not the point to fit speed limiters, has most travel at a reasonable speed except when taking people from one county to another in convoy with so-called police escort, hogging the fast lane! It is height vs weight on chassis not designed correctly. The weight is compensated by adding extra wheels, but the centre of gravity isn't worked out so the bus will tip or lose control, should the overweigh top start to sway too much. Most drivers know this and this is why most drive slowly, lack of sleep, a misjudgement of speed, and poor braking will lead to accidents. In the case of the latest accident, prob. travelling in the fast lane, plus the above problems would not allow the driver to take dastic action, a bit like travel in a boat, the wallowing action of steering and poor braking. And lets not forget the Saraburi nightmare truck driver, of which there are many, didn't help and did cause the fatal actions in the first place.

  9. The campaign should be education, If the schools ain't willing, to give the full facts, then government should set up roving teams to visit schools and at least give a full day of all the information on how, what, why and preventive methods to all students from M3 up to M6. They really need to know everything.

  10. The father seems to be scared to go to the school alone to talk to the director, and head of the teachers.....I am sure that his son, hadn't done anything wrong? Of course while he is doing this his son has to suffer in school, any problems in the school have to be dealt with now, not tomorrow, and not next week. We must wait and hear all sides of this story before blaming the teachers outright. I have worked in Thai schools for nearly ten years, and things ain't what they seem all the time.

  11. Agreed..Phitsanulok has become better over last couple of years! This year thankfully, the bank at the Tesco round the corner was able to rewrite bank letter after a phone call to head office as my letter from Phetchabun stated over 400,000 and not the exact amount. When Immig start saying bring it with you next month then I will praise them! And please stop letting your wives palm them tea money! They really do earn enough!

  12. It will be Homepro, has for Central they are meant to be building for next year. Phetchabun has to be the base for the district(valley,) as it the city..problem is we have no big industry so it always looks sad as everybody has to come from the farms every couple of weeks when they have been paid!

  13. All young women, perhaps it could some form of date rape drug! which was the prelude to rape/robbery in the room? Same for the old couple.except the rape!) placed in the free bottles of water in the rooms? Certain medicines used in date rape will clear the system quickly (i ain't going to name them!) Then of course there are others to put you to sleep! And there Doctor watson are my ideas to what has been happening! Deadly reactions to pharmacy drugs used with criminal intend, so they should be looking at possible other customers who cannot remember or think they have lost things!

  14. The plaza hotel has an even seedy side to it! After 2am when the disco's shut everything goes to the Plaza, it becomes a bit like the coffee shop at the grace hotle near Nana. So if you are thinking naughty and willing to stay out late...Give it a try!

Farang corner has we called the corner to the market is normally filled with the European and northern countries. and the few Brits and US chaps not, knowning of the 'golfers haunt' Toffees Bar (Coffee shop where early morning the Thai's stop to load up with caffine)In the afternoon several times a week it can become overcrowded with Brits and Yanks, (a bit scarey for the Thai's as it's only a very small coffee shop), But all are welcome to join! As they play golf beforehand.

Kosit Disco is the haunt for squaddies and the girls tend to be squaddie groupies and the slighty richer employ from town. Normally two bands play every evening (not very good sound) and the DJ gets very little time( which goes for both nightclubs even through the people want the DJ sounds more) Kosit is very loud and talking is out of the question! but! they have a garden outside you can take a stroll in!

Za Zaa fills up after 11pm and is full of ladyboys and students! and sometimes you will get the village girls in on mass and a great night can be had! Again the band hog's the night too much and too long, just when everybody starts dancing to the DJ the band comes back! But, after you can go to the coffee shop and they will do you a burger(thats why there are few dogs in town)LOL

Afternoon drinking can still be had around Nong nalee lake or up at the dam. or in Homeland swimming pool (Food very good there nowadays) and if you have wheels in Lomsak next to the hotel has it's own range of interesting bars!

  15. Get the letter from your doctor. You should qualify for a waiver due to medical reasons.

Someone else will soon be along with all the correct procedures.

No you got it! One letter from the doctor explaining ongoing treatment to injury, make sure the letter informs them of the lenght of time you require the ongoing treatment plus a few extra days blah blah blah... and there you go, I would asl about not paying more money due to the fact he could have sent you away to get the letter...Plead nicely :)

  16. From a sleepy fishing village very early 60's Pattaya began to grow into what it is today, IMO it turned into an Adult Disneyland holiday/expat destination, as Pattaya IMO is not a family holiday destination yet, if I had a family with kids I cerainly would'nt take them to Pattaya, far more nicer places to go, I would'nt say America created Pattaya but I suppose they helped it grow and become more known.

I think Pattaya came about as an play resort for weekenders from Bangkok perhaps, it may well have turned into a sex playground...But not for farang at first you only have to travel to Chanthaburi to find how the Thai business people enjoy themselves in that town??

It just that Pattaya started in the vein of Cha am but farang started to find it an easy destination and many hotels in Bangkok started to build there too! and offer specials to the seaside

    Sounds good eh? :)

  17. Every average educated person knows that the majority of charges against Thaksin were politically motivated. That's also why no country that Thaksin has visited has yet agreed to extradite him. They won't join the Thai political circus. Just like Interpol won't. If Thaksin was really the dangerous criminal that the current Thai government paints him as, Interpol would have long arrested him. Sure, he's done some shady business deals and put money in his own pocket, but if those strict guidelines under which he was convicted would be enforced in Thailand, there would be no politician left in the country.

    Interpol does not arrest anyone.

It is an organization that has memberships of different nations to disseminate information on wanted persons. It is not a law enforcement enity and has no arrest powers.

    Now, back to the arguing....

The goverment don´t want him back. They just like him to feel the heat under his feeths and travel around the world like a zombie

I find it quite funny that the reds have put themselves into a prison (bamboo), because it isn't a blockade! Now the army should plug up the in and outlets that the bamboo supplier and the food vendors and the leaders of the reds keep popping in and out of.

Lastly any one who comes out should be locked up and investigated.

Finally the government should invite Taksin to join them for the final showdown.

  18. When you think about it, with all the derisiveness that foreigners, including myself, say about Thailand, this really says:

    1. Amazing Thailand

    2. Someone has thought this out rationally and probably thought, this may bring these tourists back next time with better thoughts about the LOS.

I congratulate the Immigration Department on their forethought. It truly is a good decision and shows that someone is thinking.

    If it's true I couldn't agree more. :):D:D

Maybe it will take a awhile then the desk staff and police will look at it as Discount fine and NO RECEIPT GIVEN!

    :D
