  1. I believe the age of consent in Thailand is 15 but, if you pick up in bar or club it is 18. Correct me if I am wrong, reason being they should not be in a bar/club under 18. So pick up in village, 7/11 etc. no problem. But aged porky pig preying on young gals for abuse is still a sick way to act and a sad reflecting on their view on life which they would never get away with in their own countries.
  2. Some of my USA friends, state they didn't understand me, How dare they, I speak cockney from the East end of London, everybody knows that it is the only true Queens English..init! And the best Blonde Blue eyed girls are from Essex...Not Germany!
  3. You can confirm the receipt of your passport online, and can also inform them of your situation, normally I would assume your passport will be back in Thailand by the middle of Feb, hopefully you have a copy and receipt that your PP is in the system and an extension will be forthcoming from immigration. At worst if they want to be differcult, a late renewal fee will be given, A reminder you could have sent your passport up to 6months before it runs out!
  4. Another idea would be Area education offices could employ direct a team of 4 NES who would travel to school in their area and offer some English language teaching to them, 2 teachers each visiting ten schools per week, each having 2 hours per week to supplement and help encourage students, and perhaps a couple of larger schools all 4 together! Have done it before and it works well,
  5. Firstly the schools need to rectify the no fail policy. This can easily be done by having the students and parent sign a contract, stating that the student can fail subjects if no effort is forthcoming. and the student will have to attend extra classes during holidays and possibly having to pay towards the extra tuition. In 16 years of teaching in Thailand, I do and will continue to fail students, I give them an opportunity to re-sit, but, when a student who hasn't attended lessons or taking any tests, and there are normally at least 2 or 3. I refuse. I will sign the paperwork and then leave it to the head of department as to what they do. When I have a large number of students a semester I will stand my ground. As a fully licensed Thai teacher, I remind them I have my rights too! Plus the smaller undermanned schools should arrange with the area education office to have students teachers attend to add extra input for the students and even have the larger schools send a teacher and M6 or Rajabhat students to add more interest and learning chances for them, It's a win win situation for all and a boost for the area, The smaller school only have to provide lunch!
  6. So, The RTP ignore social distancing themselves to "raid a bar' they should just stand outside and tell people to leave? of course not they will create situation because it will generate income. expose people to panic, Sure the law was broken, by the establishment, by causing people to extend their stay. The police should stand outside and order the place to close and tell the people to leave, not rush in to force a problem just for a financial return. In my city in Thailand the police would drive around 30 mins before closure time, to remind the bar owners that closing time was coming up, and would continue the circuit until after all places had closed or they would pop in , fine the owner and make sure it closed for the night.
  7. I was yesterday a Tesla in Khon kaen, I though could it drive to Bangkok and Back, or would he have to stop at a mom and pop shop and ask for a plug in. Some people have no idea, and just wish to prove they can spend money, they don't understand most people are not that impressed on lowered suspension, and sports cars or oversized tires that slow everybody 'cause they can't even ride over the slightest lip in the road surface.or turn a corner without needing both sides of the road to turn.
  8. Strange my MG manages to stay on the road in the rain and fog while driving through Nam Nao national park at speed, let alone a simple express way! Am i mistaken, when you insure a car Don't they take an impression of the number on to some tape and attach it to their documents plus photographs etc.? I don't think their refusal would stand up in civil court if proven they took out the policy and accepted the agreement. A typing error of one letter would not give reason to refuse, plus they would have to prove without doubt that the driver was speed racing and to do that they need spectator account or video proof, or previous claim proof or conviction for speed , reckless driving.

  10. The MG cars from China, are basically re-cosmetically adapted SAIC vehicles. The latest range from MG have been used inChina for more than a few years. So overall well tested meaning that all bugs are ironed out. Cheaper and well built from a proven range, so no major suprises. I ahve an MG GS for 5 years, a couple of minor switches replaced for free. otherwise the car as continued to preform well. They are not rubbish, and should you have the chance to visit China go and vist a SAIC showroom if you want to know what the next models will be, or perhaps visit their online showroom.
  11. Ask the government why we hear nothing from the Red Bull family, or their response to the governments inquiries to their heirs where-abouts?
  12. What they haven't said is were the 6 from the same plane or not? If not, lets say they are from different flights, and the other passengers will show no signs for up to 14 days, and they are leaving the airport to fan out over Thailand. If this happens everyday as flights arrive then in a few weeks time, what will happen? Could it be a new ticking time bomb?
  13. Looking at the photograph, it looks a bit too creamy(wet) for COD. Certain cuts of Pangaus(Vet catfish) can look like small cod cuts, when coated on nice batter, salt, etc. you can be easily fooled. plus in the photo (first photo) cod is never served in small cuts, but, (2nd photo) catfish is!
  14. To check egg freshness, take a bowl of water or a large glass fill with water place egg in, if it sinks to the bottom its fresh, flaots midway use right away, if it floats to the top, give it to the dog. They have gut to eat it. You do not cook and eat for yourself or family.
  15. If you want deep pickled eggs, slightly hard boil, shell then use a favoured reciepe for pickling, use a toothpick on eggs to allow mixture to drain into the eggs small hole top and bottom should do, when you have brought the pickling to boild reduce het add eggs and bring back to the boil for 1 minute, cool down then place in jar and seal.
  16. of course one would assume he is in no great rush to come, and will wait for restrictions to ease, we waited in the UK for our daughter to receive her own UK passport and NI number, which has to be with babies eyes fully open, between 3 to 6 months old. Thai citizen passport etc., was done in Thailand, but, the birth registered at Thai embassy. I then came out on a 1yr multi entry, just in case I needed to return quickly to the UK for anything, But, didn't! Still this is the site of various forms of advice, and I have finished my online lessons and just trolling around waiting for the late comers LOL
  17. Hmm, why not get a 1 year multi entry visa based on marriage "o" visit, then you can apply for extension after 15months or any time between. Sure you would have under normal circumstances have to pop out of the country every 3 months.(good excuse to visit neighbouring countries) This also will stop getting stressed in the first few months. Your son can also have the same while you sort his paper work out in Thailand. Adjusting paperwork and bank accounts etc, will otherwise give you many an unhappy moment and stress but, will stop them telling you go home etc. as you can walk out take a long deep bearth and come back to the office later without worrying about visa problems.
