  1. About the same number as are injured on Thai roads, then. Just part of life in Thailand, neither of which anyone will do anything about.
  2. If you prefer a choice of the same five or six beers in every bar, fine. I prefer a choice of five or six different beers in every pub I visit. Comparing Bangkok bars with pubs in the UK is ridiculous. But each to their own.
  3. Which at 4.23 today is showing 40.69. If I transferred my usual 600 sterling at the end of the month then I'd get 900 baht less than a month ago. But I'm set to earn a very decent amount in US$ so I won't.
  4. That's nothing new. It was around 38 only a year or two ago. If it goes below 30 I'll start worrying.
  5. The English version will have prices doubled.
  6. I'm a Brit and would definitely not want to be there now. Except for the pubs. I miss the beer selection.
  7. The crisis didn't only affect Asia, but markets worldwide. The only influence that Thailand has had anywhere in living memory.
  8. High inflation and massive uncertainty about the future financially is exactly why Thailand can kiss large numbers of long haul visitors goodbye for the foreseeable future. Westerners are infinitely more concerned with keeping food on the table and keeping warm this winter than buying seats to Thailand or anywhere else. Any smart person would be saving as much as they can, if they can, as a cushion against what the future holds. Despite what TAT might think, visiting Thailand is not the number one aim of foreigners at the moment. Having enough to eat is. Keeping warm at home is.
  9. BUT.... The National Communicable Disease Committee has ruled that “DMHT” – distancing, mask-wearing, handwashing, and testing – rules are enough to control the spread of COVID-19. Thais will continue to wear masks because it's a cultural thing. Aliens such as us will not. Pretty much the same as now,
  10. I'm curious. Why you getting a vaccination is keeping your fellow workers safe. A vaccine only protects the recipient. That, historically always been the case If he receives the vaccine he stands a smaller chance of getting the virus and infecting his fellow workers. Simple as that.
  11. This is clearly a troll. Someone who has never heard of Amazon? Really? Come on. And all the don't understand stuff from someone who professes to be untech savy is also nonsense IPTV is a service, not a company or person. If the OP could get an answer about IPTV it must be by Googling ( a term I'm sure the OP would claim that he doesn't understand), and doing that would answer all his other 'questions' (what is RAM/ROM).
  12. Except in Thailand it makes no difference if you encounter cops or not.
  13. New Thai digital law you cannot video their face without consent Yes. So why publish a photo at all if you can't show the subject. Makes no sense at all. Thai logic in full flow. 'Here's a photo but the law says we can't show you what it is'. But they did this long before the recent new law, for decades, so it actually has nothing to do with that.
  14. Now there's a great song from the past.
  15. Should be an automatic prison term, but it isn't. What did he want to hide by not taking a test?
  16. The fact that the deceased was apparently racing and tried unsuccessfully to overtake. That was the cause of the accident and had nothing to do with the condition of the road.
  17. I once gambled 25 cents on a slot machine in Las Vegas, lost it and quit because I was on a losing streak.
  18. Read forever, as: "We have to remember that wearing masks is not just a preventative measure for Covid but protects people against resipratory and gastrointestinal diseases too", he noted. And I have no doubt at all that many will wear one until they die anyway.
  19. And he doesn't question why that is, because Thais always know best - even when they know nothing.
  20. Funny comment. Thais have zero interest in what the rest of the world does. Thais know best. Always. Every Thai knows that, even when they actually know nothing.
  21. Is there ever any good news about Thailand? Ever? Even the good news rescue of kids from a cave after their incompetent leader got them trapped was down to foreigners having to come in to rescue them. Fortunately for those who believe that saving face is the most important thing in society, no-one in the world actually gives a rat's fart about what happens in Thailand as it's an insignificant SE Asian backwater with no influence on anything. Not since it began the worldwide financial crash in 1997, anyway. So I doubt that it will make international news to any significant extent, if at all.
  22. Well, it's nice to know it wasn't done on purpose, and was purely down to incompetence.
