Motorbike Rider Dies after Getting Stuck Under a Minivan in Kata
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Pickup driver too impatient to wait until the road was clear. Motorcyclist going too fast to stop. What could possibly go wrong? And isn't standing in the back of a pickup illegal? -
I suppose applying at his bank never occurred to him. If he did, and they refused, it would have been for good reason and he should have got the message. And then he was unable to keep up with repaying 600 baht a day, so the bank - if they were approached - were right in thinking his business was on shaky ground.

Those that speak and make promises don't actually do anything. The Minister has spoken, made his recommendations, and his job is done. Anything that happens later is not his responsibility. You, I, he and everyone else knows that what is said will be ignored and will not be unenforced, but that is not the point. He has acted, done what he considers to be his job, while actually doing nothing. This happens all the time, at least once a week. Someone makes a declaration and the next day it's ignored and forgotten. But that person has done their job by 'acting'.

Depends how you define work, doesn't it? She has a job as an influencer and makes a living from it - a good one it seems, with an Elite Card and luxury hotel accommodation. I have no time for such people, but clearly very many do. To say she and others of her ilk have never worked is just plain wrong. It's work Jim, but not as we know it.

She deliberately published lies and a grossly distorted version of the truth, and the police have warned her about her behaviour. That seems to offend you and that she should go unpunished. As for the publicity it generated, that is the 'fault' of the media, not the police. They don't write the stories.

COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Pretty normal when the temperature drops at this time of year. Anywhere. Of course, people are free to make a choice between living behind an uncomfortable mask and maybe catching something or not. As most people don't catch something, I'll go with doing without. -
COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So 545 cases among 71 million plus however many millions TAT dreamed up visited in November. I'm not leaving the house until Thailand is safe again. -
Chinese Tourist Exposes Nana Area as Potential Danger for Women
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
1 - I see one large person, which appears to offend you or be a cause to draw an insult from you. Why? 2 - I see or read nothing that tells me the group are US co-eds. Are you psychic, or do you just imagine things or make things up? Why? 3 - You also make up that they didn't pay their own way to Thailand, something else that exists only in your sad mind. Again, how do you know that? Another fantasy you dreamed up for no reason. Why? -
Drug addicted Thai woman beats mother to death with broom
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
And last month a woman in the neighbouring village to me killed her brother. Yet books on Thailand spout about how close Thai families are. -
German backpacker speaks out about rape ordeal on Koh Chang
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
At least the former PM has kept quiet this time, after another tourist was raped during his tenure and he responded by saying only ugly women should wear a bikini. And when another young tourist was murdered he said her parents could just make another one (child). Great leadership, hmm?
