  1. No plans to cancel, AND even if variants are getting milder there are still lots of deaths around the world. Still simple:- "avoid it like the plague". Has the Facebooker been charged with spreading fear and unrest in society, as the Thais like to put it?
  2. Pickup driver too impatient to wait until the road was clear. Motorcyclist going too fast to stop. What could possibly go wrong? And isn't standing in the back of a pickup illegal?
  3. Probably forced too by the Ministry. The article doesn't say whether the family challenged the hospital first and were fobbed off. I think we can make our own judgement about that because, as you say, a Thai accepting responsibility?
  4. I've never been asked. Just another IO not knowing the rules or just being difficult because they can. Just show up without and you'll probably find someone who does know the rules and is helpful instead of obstructive.
  5. I suppose applying at his bank never occurred to him. If he did, and they refused, it would have been for good reason and he should have got the message. And then he was unable to keep up with repaying 600 baht a day, so the bank - if they were approached - were right in thinking his business was on shaky ground.
  6. No. A Thai Facebook user recently reported that the government was planning to cancel all new year holiday events
  7. Here is the headline that brought me here NANA Video Uproar: Chinese Woman Faces Deportation Yes, Well, we know what the headline is meant to do. It's called c**** b***, but if we call it that we get warned by the mods here. She doesn't face deportation. She has been fined and warned. Case closed.
  8. Those that speak and make promises don't actually do anything. The Minister has spoken, made his recommendations, and his job is done. Anything that happens later is not his responsibility. You, I, he and everyone else knows that what is said will be ignored and will not be unenforced, but that is not the point. He has acted, done what he considers to be his job, while actually doing nothing. This happens all the time, at least once a week. Someone makes a declaration and the next day it's ignored and forgotten. But that person has done their job by 'acting'.
  9. There. Corrected it for you. And I agree. Talk is cheap and corruption pays more.
  10. The media publicised it, not the police and immigration.
  11. Depends how you define work, doesn't it? She has a job as an influencer and makes a living from it - a good one it seems, with an Elite Card and luxury hotel accommodation. I have no time for such people, but clearly very many do. To say she and others of her ilk have never worked is just plain wrong. It's work Jim, but not as we know it.
  12. She hasn't been deported. She has been fined and warned. ...found herself summoned, charged, fined and warned off by Immigration Bureau police
  13. She deliberately published lies and a grossly distorted version of the truth, and the police have warned her about her behaviour. That seems to offend you and that she should go unpunished. As for the publicity it generated, that is the 'fault' of the media, not the police. They don't write the stories.
  14. Pretty normal when the temperature drops at this time of year. Anywhere. Of course, people are free to make a choice between living behind an uncomfortable mask and maybe catching something or not. As most people don't catch something, I'll go with doing without.
  15. So 545 cases among 71 million plus however many millions TAT dreamed up visited in November. I'm not leaving the house until Thailand is safe again.
  16. 1 - I see one large person, which appears to offend you or be a cause to draw an insult from you. Why? 2 - I see or read nothing that tells me the group are US co-eds. Are you psychic, or do you just imagine things or make things up? Why? 3 - You also make up that they didn't pay their own way to Thailand, something else that exists only in your sad mind. Again, how do you know that? Another fantasy you dreamed up for no reason. Why?
  17. And last month a woman in the neighbouring village to me killed her brother. Yet books on Thailand spout about how close Thai families are.
  18. They'd simply disable it, with no enforcement or penalty. Remember where you are.
  19. And anyone who knows how to drive properly would adapt to the condition of the road.
  20. At least the former PM has kept quiet this time, after another tourist was raped during his tenure and he responded by saying only ugly women should wear a bikini. And when another young tourist was murdered he said her parents could just make another one (child). Great leadership, hmm?
  21. They tried that during the pandemic. Didn't have any long term effect, it seems. Same with Phuket after the tsunami. The scum always rises back to the top.
  22. You usually make such good posts, but I guess everyone can have a bad day.
  23. Read the link. Mueang Pattaya Police Station would review the security cameras along the road to see where the attack took place and who the assailant was.
