  1. I bet if any of us tried to overturn an 18-wheeler we'd probably fail. But Thais seem to find it easy. A different kind of driving 'skill', I suppose.
  2. Where do Thais get their bizarre names? This one Farm, and we have Ink or..... Well, almost any word you can think of as a name.
  3. It's a great job, isn't it. Get paid for doing nothing, so why work? My brother-in-law is a policeman. I asked my wife what he actually does and she has no idea.
  4. Three perfect examples of Thainess in just a few seconds. Speeding motorcyclist, idiot motorcyclist crossing the road without bothering to see if it's clear, and the car driver not bothering to see if he/she could help but instead just driving away.
  5. But went across anyway. Brilliant couldn't wait five seconds, so.....
  6. Exactly. But that means planning ahead, organising yourself, common sense.
  7. More quality Thai reporting.
  8. It's either God's will or the work of the Devil for many. That's all they want to know.
  9. That's now. What about next week? Well we know, don't we.
  10. Another mentally ill person allowed to walk among us.
  11. The meaning of life to wear only clothes that never need ironing.
  12. Everyone includes farangs, does it not? Whereas there was none before. An 'adjustment' is being made.
  13. Yes. So far he's introducing a farang income tax and has cozied up with two of the world's biggest dictators. Outstanding start.
  14. Yes. Another headline today: Thai village chief killed in wild elephant attack
  15. Just curious how they prove one of the charges, the sale of alcohol to minors.....
  16. However, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for the offence blah blah blah... I don't understand this statute of limitations business. A crime has been committed, but then it doesn't matter and the guilty gets off scot-free. The prime example, of course, is the Red Bull fugitive. Just hide until the crime doesn't matter anymore.
  17. Very primitive culture, isn't it. Centuries behind some countries and cripples any progress. I remember when they built the first BTS extension beyond On Nut which provided a perfect example of the damage it can cause. The boss didn't order the signaling as he was close to retirement and didn't want to make a mistake. His staff knew of the error but couldn't say anything as he was the boss. In due course it all came to light of course, and the opening of the extension was delayed by a year. I don't know if the boss was sacked as a result.
  18. He wouldn't need to bribe anyone. He's seen as a VIP and is therefore automatically entitled to special treatment, no matter what. Thainess.
  19. Now why didn't I think of that! Winner. Thanks.
  20. Just the way Thais do business. The only thing that interests them, apparently, is how much you pay them. No other info at all.
  21. I guess the hundreds of millions, billions I believe, who watch it all over the world like it that way. Who are we to argue?
  22. There might be many positives about living in Thailand, but watching European evening kickoff football isn't one of them. How many of us stay up to watch a 2am kickoff and 4am finish? Until recently there was a wonderful site called Soccercatch from which you could watch or download all major league and cup matches soon after they had finished. It has now closed as the cost of maintaining it was too high. There is another site, Footybite, which has links to streams and then has highlights, but no full matches to watch the next morning. The IPTV service I use only has catch-up of matches that are shown on the major channels - in the UK, Sky or TNT - and obviously what they show is very limited. So, does anyone know of a site that has a means to watch full match recordings?
