  1. You get this plus no ads with the method I described in my opening post. Costs zero.
  2. You clearly don't see that promoting an illegal business on social media where millions might see it, including the authorities, is just plain dumb. That says a lot about you, I'm afraid. And I have no idea what 'clear evidence' you are talking about. Of what?
  3. A very shallow attitude from someone who has no idea of this girl's life or the circumstances that brought her to this position. It is highly likely that this girl is actually an 'employee' of someone controlling several similar girls who they use to evade the law themselves. Please don't be so fast to condemn people when you have no knowedge of their circumstances. I repeat: Here we have yet another brain-dead Thai promoting her illegal business on social media, thinking that it will only be seen by potential customers/perverts and not the police. That has nothing at all to do with her circumstances. Or if she is an employee. You say that is highly likely. Based on what?
  4. A great post. I agree with every word. Your point I've quoted is a fine example of Thai logic - make the money required for a single person double that for a couple. And let's not forget the other 'logic' of not needing to be retired to get a retirement extension. I've many times over the years told friends about the immigration rules and they've not believed me. Especially about having to seek permission every year to 'visit' my wife of (now) over 30 years. And who can blame them?
  5. Or perhaps have no interest in K-pop music?
  6. And whose fault is that? In the real world, being married with all the docs to prove it in many countries means an automatic five year permission to stay, and then a lifetime permission after that. No home visit, no 90 reporting nonsense, no annual submission of the same documents you produced last year and the year before that and the year before that. Immigration makes its own problems. I've been married 32 years and lived in Thailand for 27, and still have to ask permission to visit my wife. Just stupid. At the same time and despite the nonsense, it doesn't take much time once a year to produce what they need and have already had countless times before. It should just be unnecessary.
  7. I have VPN Unlimited which I rarely use, but someone in the know has told me that it now blocks streaming for many locations, such as UK South movies and tv. I was thinking of changing to Surfshark, but now....? Maybe all VPNs are affected with whaever the source is now doing. I really can't understand tv companies spending a fortune on making programmes and then preventing people from watching them. The expat market must be at least as big as their local market, but it's ignored.
  8. That is interesting. When it was known that most of us would no longer be able to use PayPal in Thailand I don't recall anyone mentioning this workaround. Worth looking into, as I have a UK bank account which it would be linked to. I'm guessing it would need a UK address too? But HSBC still allows me to use my UK account with a Thai address, despite it now being 'discouraged'.
  9. Or maybe they were giving out perfume samples to ladies and pulled back when saw you were a guy...maybe nothing to do with being a "whitey" except in your head? Edited 40 minutes ago by Pattaya57 Sorry to disappoint you, but they weren't. One was water, another was an energy drink, and one more was something that I've forgotten.
  10. Here we have yet another brain-dead Thai promoting her illegal business on social media, thinking that it will only be seen by potential customers/perverts and not the police. Unbelievable. I wonder how some of these people even have enough intelligence to breathe.
  11. With her apparently doing her pimping for jiust 200 baht a time commission, I doubt she has money to buy her way out of trouble.
  12. They do this about once a year at one location for a few hours, and then allow the taxi drivers operate as usual once the photo op is over. If they were serious, which of course no-one is fooled into believing they are, they would pull a few dozen soldiers out of their barracks where they do who knows what all day, dress them in civvies and set them trying to get a taxi from anywhere, be it outside malls or hotels or simply in the street. And give them the power to immediately take a taxi off the road if they don't stick to the rules. The taxi complaint line is useless, as I know from trying to use it and being told to call the tourist police, who told me to call the taxi complaint number.
  13. How Thailand got a reputation for happy, smiling people is beyond me. It must be one of the most dangerous places in the world outside of a war zone. Weapons and low intelligence is not a good mix. Especially when it involves a 14 year old carrying firearms (again) and ping pong bombs, whatever they are.
  14. This follows on from a report a few days ago of a pair of tourists having to leap from an enraged elephant, suffering serious injury, and that came just a week or so after TAT said they were going to use elephants to ensure tourist safety. Might be time for a rethink on that.
  15. Reminds me of the times I've been on my way into a shopping mall and there have been 'pretties' outside giving a free sample of something. And when they see whitey their outstretched arm is pulled back. After all, all farangs are rich and all Thais are poor, right? Pathetic.
  16. I shop for my Beer Lao IPA at a similar place opposite Kalasin immigration.
  17. My local Makro doesn't sell alcohol as there is a university about 300 metres away, but the 7 Eleven directly opposite the uni sells.
  18. And what have business operating hours got to do with the government anyway?
  19. Maybe because it's always been free before?
  20. In Thailand it doesn't matter what the rules are. Thais do whatever they want to do. Checking that it's clear doesn't appear to occur to many of them.
  21. To those who have pointed out that video makers benefit from the ads, many of those who make the videos invite people to contribute via Patreon. If they don't, then maybe they should. It's a more direct way of supporting their work.
  22. I guess you only read the headline? Emergency responders were notified of the accident in the early morning
  23. Yes. It doesn't matter how good a driver you are. You can still be wiped out at any moment. Exciting living here, isn't it.
  24. Subsequent investigation by the press at the Huai Chin Singh municipal office revealed that the truck had a green light during the incident.
