I had the same problem and set up a new account with an email address I hardly use anymore. Why it happens, I have no idea.
-
That's my source too, especially since the ones I used to buy at Makro suddenly changed the skin to thick and unpalatable, a problem mentioned by the OP.

Absolutely. If things go wrong in any way the airline will always tell you to sort it out with the agent. And agents, after selling you the ticket, might not be keen on dealing with you any further and/or might be difficult to contact. Writing from decades of flying experience.

Thai Workers Are A Joke
Bangkok Barry replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Some are content with lower standards than they find in the west. Up to them. It doesn't mean that the standards in Thailand are the same as 'back home'. Few would claim that they are. You appear to be one of them. Again, if you're happy with that then I'm pleased for you. You do, though, appear to be in the minority. -
Thai Workers Are A Joke
Bangkok Barry replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
My experience of workers who have done jobs for me is that some have not been up to standard. I'm not the only one, hence the reason for this thread. Respect has to be earned, it is not automatic. Some others have no complaints about the work that has been done for them. So be it. I have no idea why you find it offensive when I write that some Thai workers do a poor job. I'm sure that happens elsewhere too, but this is a site related to Thailand. And comments about MY experiences has nothing to do with being impartial. I deal in FACTS, not opinion, and the FACT is that the workers I have used have often, not always, done a very poor job. As an example, I have had to re-wire some of my house after the electrician messed up - in one instance I had wiring pre-installed in a new extension for an air-conditioner, and when the installers came they discovered the wiring led nowhere. -

You are certainly one of the most insulted posters on here. there might be a reason for that, from so many contributors. You clearly haven't considered why that might be. And thanks for the summary of your career. Nice one. I arguably trump you although by taking a very different path, but life is not a competition so I'll leave it at that. -

I haven't heard that for a week or more. I wonder what my wife would think of my either abandoning her or making her leave her family and many friends. -
Parking pickle: Bangkok condo resident slapped with 20,000 baht fine
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Why? Has this condo set up a world first as having the first car park you aren't allowed to use for parking? She's a resident. What's the problem? The excuse they gave of having limited parking space is nonsense. Residents can park there, or they can't. More evidence that Thailand is a lunatic asylum. -

The end result is what counts, and much of what I've seen done here is shoddy and unprofessional. Maybe it's because in Thailand, as far as I know, there is no body to monitor standards as there is in the west. An early post mentioned a one month guarantee, which speaks volumes. A colleague from Korea summed it up perfectly, saying that standards here are so low. -

Thanks for your holier than thou comment. My Thai wife speaks very good Thai, and English. I'm not a linguist. My talent lays in other areas. I'm also not a brain surgeon, nor an engineer. Nor a builder. What are you no good at? If anything. -
Thai Workers Are A Joke
Bangkok Barry replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
The ones you claim to have had aren't the problem. Those the OP and others have written about are. My own experience is that most workers are untrained and have no professional qualifications at all. They learn on the job, if they learn at all, from others who also don't know what they're doing. Good workers are few and far between. Especially if you don't live in a city. It is a fact that Thais have little or no pride in anything, be it the job they do or how they live, dumping their rubbish everywhere. To me, that is a very sad way to exist. I'm lucky with some, as the aircon man and wife team used to work for a hotel in Bangkok before returning to the countryside, and an electrician we use, a family member, also used to work for a hotel in Bangkok. But even he makes use of insulating tape instead of making a secure connection. -
Thai PM says use of cannabis must be regulated within six months
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So all these shops that have sprung up to sell will have to close. But, from my observation, they have as many customers as a Louis Vuitton shop in a hi-so mall - approximately zero. -
Thai PM sees a role for Thaksin when he gets out of jail
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nice of him to tell Bloomberg that Thailand has no problem including convicted criminals in the government. But they already knew that, by past/present experience. Spreading Thainess to the world's media. Great image to promote. -
Court Revokes Pannika’s Right to Run for Election
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It's the way Third World countries operate. Courts ban politicians and unelected people overturn election results. Just the way it is in Thailand, always has been and will be for the foreseeable future as the people are powerless to oppose the elite. They've tried protesting in the past, rioting and burning down buildings. Doesn't work, as the elite and the military control the weapons used by Thais to attack Thais. -
Nok Airlines stocks nosedive as SET delisting threat soars
Bangkok Barry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Does anyone still fly Nok, if they have a choice? Whenever I'm at DMK looking at the departure board there are always Nok flights cancelled. Last time I was there it was five. The last two times I took them the departure was an hour late for a one hour flight, and they used a turbo-prop from Khon Kaen to Bangkok rather than a real plane. -
Chinese tourism to Thailand lags despite lifted travel restrictions
Bangkok Barry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So there's more to it than the Chinese feeling a financial pinch. Those closely involved with tourism here say there's another key issue.
