  1. As these items were imported why wasn't the tax payable at the point of entry?
  2. The charging station was installed by Thai's. If that is to blame, BYD, I'm guessing, could sue for shedding bad light on their brand.
  3. Why not Thai Engineers? (Stop sniggering!) Must it be Indian engineers investigating MG incidents? Do Japanese engineers need to investigate Toyota malfunctions?
  4. The Thai quotes about the pardon, being printed overseas, are that it is faster than 50G internet!
  5. This is now a daily occurence, sadly. Yesterday it was a bus who accelerated into a light post in Korat whilst trying to beat the red light. He also flipped his vehicle and injured 16 innocent young passengers. Kids are also under daily attack from violence in the schools themselves. Traffic laws and teacher supervision are not working.
  6. Reddit reporting 10 minutes ago, with a copy of the order, that Thaksin's sentence has been pardoned down to 1 year.....
  7. Same question....Does the foreign passport make you ineligible to fight for Thailand? Does the Thai ID Card trump a passport?
  8. There is. Thai Army refused to continue sharing it though as the previous bribe ran out. Same in many other towns I'm guessing.
  9. Schools seem to be leading the way in increased violence and death. It's happening nationwide, regularly, and only the use of weapons is being reported. Schools are trying to save face and are in denial.
  10. The Buriram electorate are under the impression he can walk on water and do no evil so this high risk mode of moving about would be news to them.
  11. Thai doctors are a unique breed. Here is a medically fit to fly 24hrs ago patient, who we are being told now needs to be hospitalised. Other very high profile patients are clinically dead for over 9 months but magically we are told are still alive.
  12. The hidden lead character is truly Orwellian from my perspective.
  13. Having a dislike of mustard would be completely different though, right? Hmmm. I perceive and the perception is given off as Xenophobia.
  14. It was certainly not good for Thai people though. I spent 50,000GBP in 2001 with Thai construction supply companies. Do they count?
  15. I've been here since 1998. I remember clearly the improvements Thaksin made for Thailand and understand the love some Thai's have for him. Perhaps the memories a bit dusty but...OTOP, One Tambon One Product, the villages products reinvigorated the klongthom markets nationwide. Revolving micro finance (10,000 baht?); the source of funding for the street sellers stalls that sprung up everywhere nationwide. Low cost housing, Suvarnabhumi Airport, amongst other infrastructure projects, Exchange rates at about x2 today's rates (UK Pound/Thai baht =60/70+ baht) certainly benefitted me in the construction of a house in 2001. The introduction of universal healthcare......
  16. Putting on the appearance of "Red" to avoid a slaughter. Sounds normal for things here in Thailand.
  17. Batik originates from Indonesia. Why call it a Thai fabric? Cultural robbery, surely?
  18. “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.” @1984
