Revered royal monk’s passing leaves temple in deep contemplation
rbkk replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
Rubbish. Ive had monks begging at my door for 'donations'. They once got 6,000 baht, over 24 years ago, for a new wall. I said not to bother coming round again. They've kept there side of the bargain! -

555. Yup. It could well of been hung up by Somchai though as I note the stitching looks reversible! -
The reports yesterday, and also spoken by the new Prime Minister of Thailand, were that Thai repatriation flights were not allowed access to Israeli airspace at that point in time. Perhaps things are different today? I still haven't read any reports though of any Thai airlifts of civilians or collection of dead bodies. Sadly, just reports of Israeli's coming on holiday to Thailand.

Thailand should stop accepting El Al commercial flights to/from Israel until they allow Thai humanitarian repatriation flights into their airspace/airports.

Did the Chinese Nazi party sponsor the funeral? -
The private school/fee paying system here is full of misfits and medicine dependant kids. ADHD is rife with no specialist teacher support. If a student would struggle in the normal school system the option to purchase their way onto "English" and other Programs is well known amongst the teachers who mark their entrance tests. No teacher I know is brave enough to scold a rich brat. The number of deaths perpetrated by Mathayom Suksa 2 students in Thailand this year is shocking.

As with all happy endings here in Thailand I'd bet my bottom dollar a sum was involved.

Just curious, what, if any, is the extra income allowance for being able to communicate in English for the Tourist Police? FYI, in Hong Kong the Police that can speak English are easily identified by using red around their lapel service number as opposed to black if only Cantonese is spoken. It's easily visible from a distance.

Why only Thai men? If your a legitamely paid up member shouldn't you have the same rights as a Thai? From memory, nationality was previously never a barrier to full access to the fund. -
So I pose next to an iPhone 15 Pro Max on my Tinder profile. Great tip! What a way to swipe out the opposition.

Thai PM ‘splits’ salary option sparks debate among civil servants
rbkk replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Many civil servants seem to have to resort to high interest credit cards to get to the end of the month. This policy could save on their interest payments. My wife has a business that is boosted every month on the 26th (Payday). This policy could now get customers, flush with a pay packet, twice a month. Win/win! -
I'm not buying the numbers. On his starting salary (17,500 baht) his 30% after loan repayment is 5250 baht a month, not 118 baht. Over time the repayments stayed the same but salaries have risen. Last university lecturer I heard of was earning 800/1000 baht per hour with private tuition (Double High School teacher rate). I wish someone had bought me some land and paid a % of the house construction costs. Oh, and lent me the balance at 0% (Probably).
