  1. You are right, I did not read the whole thread, I just read the op on which I assume the whole thread is based. In it it said and I quote. " And yesterday another AN member encountered same at ROI-ET Imm office. The member did a border-run and was refused a a 90-day Non Imm O Visa (retirement) after his VisaExempt return, and also was told to apply at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos." It was difficult to understand , but I think it said that a member in Roi Et "encountered same " and that he did "a border-run " as far as know a border run is when you cross the border to get a visa on your return. But he returned "after his VisaExempt return " . Why would someone do a visa run and return visa exempt? Something does not end up , unless the Op is not a native english speaker and has trouble expressing his situation. To which I added that even though I am a long term resident , I come back often visa exempt and never had a problem . Unless the case is not stated correctly in the OP , I think there must be some confusion here. Or perhaps I am confused , and if I am it will not be the first time.
  2. That makes no sense . Someone did a border run and returned visa exempt? then when he went to the immigration office they refused to give him a 90-day Non Imm O ? I often travel out of Thailand for lengths of time and being in a third country not wanting to bother getting a Non O visa at an unfamiliar place , I come back visa exempt and get it here. In the past three years two times. I never had a problem at the Khon Kaen office.
  3. I also have a four stroke honda, I have it for several years and it still starts at the second pull. sometimes the first. The trick is to drain the gas. It gums up the carburetor and dissolves the fuel lines. 90% of the time why those small bore engines don't work it's because the carbutrator is gummed up . Either the float or, the jet or both. I have replaced the solid widowmaker head with a 3 mm string similar to the one billd766 has in his reply. The bump heads were designed by the devil as practice for when we go to hell . I had more luck solving a Rubik's Cube than rewinding one.
  4. Sorry for all the typos, I guess I should had read it before I pulled the trigger. I am surprised any of you understood what I said ???? Anyway it is "Answer" "fossil" use your imagination with the rest. For some reason I can't edit this post. PS: Ohh Ok. I checked and I could edit this post so I guess after a length of time you can no longer use the edit option evidence of your bad spelling is there for eternity LOL
  5. I Planted two grape vines at my play , 1 Rai farm , where I spend 10,000 tbh to grow 1,000tbh worth vegetables ???? Only a few months now and they are not doing well. They started out well and then something ate all the leaves. They are beginning to sprout and I will spray them with something to keep pests off, but with all the rain we will be getting I am not sure if the insecticide will wash off. The point about bananas is that they are low maintenance. and inexpensive. You don't even care if they die. No law about being a bad farmer ????
  6. I hear your frustration, we have some rice fields we inherited from my wife's father, and we lease then to her uncles because it is not worth the effort. They give us a little money to cover expenses and some rice . If you don't want to do that,I have been told that if you don't want to pay higher taxes in your land because it is uncultivated, to plant Bananas. Not sure how true it is because I have not tried it myself, but don't you wonder why all these empty lots around town have banana trees in them?
  7. any opportunity to display one's intelligence, ehh? My "Gay" daughter is a beautiful intelligent , educated kind and thoughtful person , top case manager for one of the largest law firms in the US and working toward passing her Bar. A productive member and a credit to our community in Florida , and to the human race. I wish I could say the same for you , but from your post I am afraid I would be lying Being homosexual is a natural part of being human. And as such you have every right to be proud of yourself and peacefully parade. As you also have and do in many different occasions. A percentage of the human race has always been homosexual . All through history this was understood, and homosexuality was accept as a normal part of the human experience. It was only with Christianity that it was made into something to be feared and attacked. But I am sure anything I said above would be lost to you, and I am wasting my breath,if it was not , you would not had made the comments you made in your first two posts, Not sure what other nonsense you might have posted since I stopped reading this thread there.
  8. For accuracy I would think 1 or 2 should be enough. But personally I suggest that you carry only one round, so that after you shoot your foot you don't shoot your other ????
  9. Very good unswer , we were visiting in Greece last year when it was announced in the news that " Today the country was run by entirely rentable sources" Of course that does not happen every day , and it was probably a windy and very sunny day with low demand, But is becoming more and more a thing in many countries and will become even more so in the future. I am afraid the person you were replying too has bought into the propaganda the fissile fuel inductile is spewing in addition to their CO2. Another thing he failed to mentioned is that even the electricity produced by Coal, is not produced in the middle of the city where smog is a problem. So I asked Chat CPT AI. below is a quote , and following the whole unswer if interested. "A report by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) found that, on average, EVs produce less than half the emissions of comparable gasoline-powered vehicles over their lifetime in the United States. " " including the co2 produced by an EV what is the difference in co2 production batwing Ev and ICE vehicles ChatGPT Comparing the CO2 emissions between electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles involves considering multiple factors throughout the vehicle's life cycle. These factors include CO2 emissions from electricity generation for EVs and tailpipe emissions for ICE vehicles. Manufacturing: Both EVs and ICE vehicles produce CO2 during the manufacturing process. EVs require large batteries, which have a carbon footprint associated with their production. However, the specific emissions depend on the battery type, manufacturing processes, and the energy sources used. Fuel or Electricity Production: EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions since they run on electricity. However, the emissions associated with EVs depend on the sources of electricity used for charging. If the electricity comes from fossil fuel power plants, it can still have CO2 emissions. However, as renewable energy sources like wind and solar power become more prevalent, the emissions from charging EVs decrease. Energy Efficiency: EVs are generally more energy-efficient than ICE vehicles. Electric motors convert a higher percentage of energy into forward motion, while ICE vehicles waste a significant amount of energy as heat. This higher energy efficiency translates to lower overall CO2 emissions for EVs. Taking all these factors into account, numerous studies have been conducted to compare the CO2 emissions of EVs and ICE vehicles over their entire life cycles. The results vary depending on the region, electricity sources, and specific vehicle models. In general, current studies suggest that EVs have lower CO2 emissions compared to ICE vehicles. A report by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) found that, on average, EVs produce less than half the emissions of comparable gasoline-powered vehicles over their lifetime in the United States. However, the exact emissions reduction depends on the electricity mix in each region. It is important to note that as the electricity grid becomes cleaner and more renewable energy is integrated, the CO2 emissions associated with EVs will continue to decrease. Additionally, advancements in battery technology and manufacturing processes are expected to reduce the carbon footprint of EVs even further in the future. "
  10. Nonsense! "In advance of the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow in 2021, Volvo released figures claiming that greenhouse gas emissions during production of an electric car are 70% higher than when manufacturing a petrol one. " The operative word here is "during production " How about life span? Then he goes on to say : " The biggest problem we need to address in society’s relationship with the car is the “fast fashion” sales culture that has been the commercial template of the car industry for decades. Currently, on average we keep our new cars for only three years before selling" "New cars" not new electric cars. So how does this relates to ? "I love electric vehicles – and was an early adopter. But increasingly I feel duped "? The statement does not even makes sense. Those who only keep a car "Three Years" sell the car to someone else who does not buy a new car and as such does not contribute to emissions created during the production . But what do you expect from an article written by Mr Been? ???? I will Admit that's where I stopped reading being too busy laughing. So If I missed anything later on on the article, Please feel free to corrected.
  11. That's the unfortunate problem with a two party system. An independent third party candidate is essentially a suicide pact between two of the three candidates who's politics lean on the same direction. One is sure to take away votes from the other to the benefit of the third. So no . IMO people can not run as independents without cause harm to their cause. A third party candidate with conservative leaning will insure a progressive win, and a third party with progressive leaning progressive will insure a conservative winn.
  12. All very good replies above. I am afraid I would have to agree with all of them . Who needs to carry a gun around , and if you have one , considerably for defence as some claim. Who needs 30 rounds? what are you going to be defending yourself against that you need 30 rounds?
  13. Also very thoughtful.. That's another thing about an age gap. I often thought about that, Lucky for me the wife does not want kids. One has to consider the balance between you not wanting children for all the very good reasons you mentioned above, and the lady's desire and or need to have children. I often thought that if we had children , after I am gone she will at least have her children. But as you said. How fair is that o the children?
  14. My wife is 20 years younger than me. ( married 13 years now) One very selfish thing I did not consider when we first met , mostly because I never thought I will fall in love with her as much as I did, is that one day I will die and leave her alone. She is financially set.But I am not sure how she will be emotionally. We go and do everywhere together. And I am afraid she will be lonely. I know some of you will laugh, but it's a real concern of mine. If I had to do it again I think I would have chosen an older mate. But then again I would not have the opportunity to have met this incredible woman. I hope i don't know it when I die (Hopefully a long time from now) . Some people say that by the time they reach the end of their lives they are content with it. I am not sure I will be. What a wet blanket I am , Right????? but I can't get that thought out of my mind. I just try not to think about it, but every now and then it pops up. Mostly I deal with it by trying to celebrate the time we have together.
  15. I watched this podcast interview of the former chief business officer of Google X. watch at least the first 10 minutes and tell me how you cannot be alarmed? 10 minutes! surely you can invest 10 minutes to such important subject. Don't let the title put you off, It is an out of context quote.
  16. The only downside I can think of is that I would be one of the exterminated ones. Other than that I bid you al a fine adieu.
  17. I think it claim to, but if dog food would give "extra stamina" then my ex-wife's cooking would have made me a superman ????
  18. Sure!! Innovative solutions to every problem , mucg in the way digital money is replacing ATMs. But while it is mitigating problems associated with ATM , it is also creating it's own unique problems that will be mitigated by further innovations. It is the way of the world. Where can I get some of that? ????
  19. We rarely use cash. Scan the QR code and pay. Went to the village ATM a couple of days ago for small item cash, and it was empty of money. ATM infustracture and maintenance is a cost and a problem from banks. With digital money in a few years they will become a memory from the past much like rotary phones, VH video tapes and the sexual stamina of my Youth ????
  20. So trump , is going to change the US constitution on his first day as president? ???????????? ahh stop it, i cant breath ???????????? " Birthright citizenship is included in the 14th amendment to the US constitution, " https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/may/31/donald-trump-birthright-us-citizenship#:~:text=Birthright citizenship is included in,citizens of the United States.” Do you know what is involved with changing the constitution? is it even possible given the gridlock in congress? Google it. I would do it for you but I cant stop laughing !!
  21. Obviously you have never tripped and fell. I know I could never be president only because I have tripped and fall many times. As to his mental acuity please enjoy the video below. And he can actually spell , unlike your guy . You see? there is the problem.
  22. First of all , I am all for having a debt ceiling, but if it going to be raised every budget, what is the sense of having a debt ceiling? Other than for the opposition, being democrat or republican to hold the country hostage for political gain? Having said that, how having or not having a debt ceiling makes the debt secret? The national debt is very well publicized , Simply google "National debt clock" https://www.usdebtclock.org/ it displays in detail all aspects of the national debt and service costs.
  23. It does that but IMO it does more harm than good, Putting aside the harm it does in international reputation, It straightens the BRICS countries attempt to replace the dollar as the world's currency. It raised the 2 year Treasury bond yield by 8 base points and the 10 year by 4. Contributing to deficit spending.
