If you are a taxpayer - you should get a Social Security card and have named a hospital for free or massively reduced healthcare.

I know I did - I never used it - but apparently it put me on par with the locals.

In the UK - you get free healthcare but foreigners have to pay. Same deal.

In Thailand - there are many that are not taxpayers too and don't have the social security card. These are the poorest of the Thais. Nobody should expect to pay what they pay. So by my reckoning - one price for Social Security card holders makes sense, one price for the dirt poor who are scraping by and not officially employed - then the foreigner price. I can see 3 tiers being ok. Not sure what #4 is though.

Yes I'm in the Pakan Sakom. They stopped issuing these cards a couple years ago, I still kept my old one. Went today for my WP (work permit) check-up, paid 210 baht with blood test and consulting included..

There is unfair for those who pay tax to Thailand, and that is two groups, expats who retire and choose to pay tax (get less tax back home), and those who work and pay tax. Those who do not pay tax, what do you really complain about?

Correct in some way but but not correct in another way. I pay taxes and some of the doctors added medicines to the social insurance bill that normally had to be paid by me. He said let the generals pay. On another occasion in Sukhothai a doctor treated a Farang for free in government hospital. I had to go for a CT scan in a famous CNX hospital that has many American graduates and by hearing my name the price almost doubled, my doctor cancelled on the spot. In the tourist business hotel prices for THai and Asians are usually higher than those for the European market as the last group spend more in the hotel while the Thai buy outside.  Our embassies can help by refusing visas to a certain group (from all the corrupt departments) of people, not much but it would help, increasing import duty on shrimp and poultry would be another step.

Yep, I went this morning arrived about 10 out by 10:47. I was a bit annoyed having to fill in the same form again with the exact same info...silly...but then I'm easily annoyed. I annoy myself all day long. Writing that just annoyed me. I think you can probably go tomorrow and get a first jab if you haven't had one. Certainly you will get the info. I'm not sure what time they close down today.

Reminds me of the army why to make things easy when you can make them difficult as well. Hurry, hurry and then let you sit on the tarmac for 2 hrs in full gear with parachute.

Went last week, 23rd. Thought it would be smooth sailing but they consolidated some of the first shot groups so more people than on the day I went for the first shot. Then computer system went down just before I got through queue. So twice as long as first time. The master of ceremonies, who reminds me of many Swiss hotel gm’s I have met at work was in fine form. Patiently repeating info, urging people to move into the smaller queue, and jumping in when they gave queue numbers to people (when they had to pause for the computer problem) and some people rushed the poor nurses handing out numbers. Had to laugh when he chastised me for missing the restart by a couple of minutes, told him I was back before the time he had announced so it was his mistake, not mine. That quieted down his bossiness, but I’m sure he was a part of the reason that everything went pretty well with this program and thanks to him for volunteering.

As useless as a butler ???? that's how I call him

Because it cuts out the middlemen, owners, and rent seekers..

That girl made a million baht in 3 months.. and she isnt crazy hot.. Once the top tier gogo hotties get that system worked out and realize they can get 100s of 1000s without bothering with the actual hard work of dancing and screwing tourists.. What happens to the scene ?? Get ready for the cost basis to scale exponentially.

I was predicating this years ago.. In fact tried and failed to get someone to code me a kind of P4P dating site with user incomes back in +- 05..

Think you are right they are killing the competition and the cops are securing their brown envelopes.

  6. We should thank this guy for doing this. I was arrested after tourist police got a 30.000 baht reward. I discovered that the guides in the company did something fishy so they paid the police to get rid of me. But...... it did not work out for them, I'm still here after almost 30 years. The police officer who mishandled the whole Ms An Duncan case, 3 of the 4 wrongly arrested people died in jail ore when released.  He got promoted to become the head of the tourist police. Most of these guys even don't speak any foreign language.

There should be hundreds of thousand on the street if they want to archive to oust Prayuth. A few thousand will no be sufficient

I don't want to see these red scumbags in to power (FYI) nor do I want to see the yellow ones. You know that paying 1000 people to stage a protest is cheaper than hiring 100 K. It should have been a day of celebration instead.

I think in condos there is supposed to a minimum 30 days booking period to try and minimize the risk of morons booking for parties and to help protect the hotel industry.

Nope it is about paying tax, in CNX many owners of condos of Airbnb are Chinese and no money is send to Thailand.

What's wrong with being conscripted? Military life ain't that bad. Luckily Thailand isn't at war with anyone. It's only 2 years and may do them the world of good. Best option is volunteer. That way you get a choice of what branch you work in.

Yes you are right, no problem but the Thai army, no way. I spent 11 years in the army so I'm not against serving but in THailand no way.

  10. 10 years, is not that long. The older brother of the current minister of transport is almost 30 years on the run for murder (living next door of Buriram in Cambodia). If he has been a monk before he can hide under that name. I know a tour guide who had two licenses one under his real name an the other one under his name as a monk. Remember the policeman that shot two people in Kanchanaburi, they found him also working in Phuket as a tour guide. Changing a name in Thailand is easy.

Have you been vaccinated at the main hospital in Ubon at 26.8. and 10.9. with Pfizer like me?

If so, have you received the 13-digit vaccination Identification number which is needed to register with the Mor Phrom application in order to get the Digital Health Pass?

Neither at the registration procedure nor at the occasion of the 2 jabs have I been handed out this essential number.

Anyone here with the same experience?

    Thank you!

The 13-digit number is your ID number. This number is not GIVEN out at the hospital. This number is given out at the local amphur or district office where you register to get house registration. If you have a house registration book or a pink ID card, the 13-digit number is on these. If you do not have either of these documents, I don't what you can do to get the Digit Health Pass. I guess your passport number is of no help. I have received my two vaccine shots and I registered with my 13 digit ID number. To date, I haven't tried to get the Digital Health Pass. The piece of paper I received is okay for me.

Two different things, my covid ID is not the same as my Tabien baan ID
