It's like an extended low season they tells me, and some use the period without tourists to refurbish their business, or rebuild, and some even expands - one I know both re-constructs and expands to double size - ready for the coming high seasons.
No debt and savings is a must. Unfortunately the money I saved for investment and to buy new stuff is now used to survive. The only advantage is that I have about 70% less competition than before.

why would they want to stay even if not broke
Family, wife kids etc.

Open but no customers (tourist related)
No help whatsoever from anybody.
Can still manage on saving but have properties as back-up.

Thai children still learn using the same rubbishy materials that their parents, and probably their grandparents, used. They are still taught using a talk-and-chalk methodology that, in the rest of the world, became obsolete 40 years ago. By any measure of learning,Thai children consistently lag their peers in poorer Asian countries. And compared to children in the developed world....
But nobody in the Thai government cares less. As long as the education budget is there to be pilfered wholesale, it's doing its job. The whole edifice from top to bottom is rotten to the core.
Probably the grand parents even didn't get any education. My mother in law (RIP) was not allowed to attend school as she had to take care of the household.

Off course they don't care. How you are going to steal money from 65 million well educated people, easier to keep them stupid and afraid.

Odd the number of times you hear Thais say dangerous or it kill you when in fact the creature is usually totally harmless. They seem to know very little or zero about the wildlife in their country.
You might think they would add a few hours in the school program to say ok this is a king cobra so avoid and this is a tree snake so no problem etc .Every snake is dangerous as well, but not wearing a helmet drunk driving etc etc seams no problem at all.

Taxi drivers often know the quickest way to go , rather than the shortest way to go , like avoiding traffic lights and traffic jams
Sorry but we are talking about a Thai taxi driver and not somebody who works in London and has to study hard to pass tests to become a taxi driver. There are some good ones but some really don't have clue.

Who were these volunteers?
Not sure but the Thai looked like people from the red cross and CNX University. The Foreigners no clue, the nurses and doctors, don't know.

My last time was Jan 87. Each rule they make is something the Police is happy about, nothing to do with common sense nor enforcing.

Not so. You also need the email notification of the confirmation date and time
I went without that as I did not have an appointment, it was walk inn on Thursday 09. The team that developed that online form are way below average.

Assuming this is from CMPHO and this is an official statement, it does appear to be generated from a USA site that is not aware of limitations here in CM to comply- specifically in several places it says to print out one's information, but in CM this is at best an inconvenience. Most people do not own a printer, and many print shops are closed- Buddy's Internet Shop is open across the street from Kad Suen Kaew mall. I have worked with CMPHO at many vax sites at McCormick Hospital and it was never required anyone printout their info. So, if it was me I would disregard this part.
Can be but it will not hurt so mention or write down your 13 digit code and they find your registration on their PC.

I went yesterday (9th).
Lots of people there, but an efficient service.
For me, the whole process took about 2 hours including the 30 minutes you have to sit and wait after you've had your jab to see if you develop any immediate side effects.
There were a few volunteers on hand to explain the process in English, including a guy explaining everything through a microphone.
Oh and don't forget to take a pen, there is a consent form to fill in and sign.
The guy with the microphone reminded me of a butler. When I approached him he replied even before I asked my question that he was not qualified to answer any medical questions and he turned his back. I almost lost my 30 min q because of that. So please, get you pre registered form with code, print it out but when there you need to fill in another form at a desk with Thai staff, after that they check your blood pressure and you can proceed to the next q. So don't stand in the wrong Q. That first q is not easy to see, it is in the back. For the Germans please mention that you are German, Deutsch and Dutch are similar and can be confusing for the staff. It is indeed well organized apart from the "butler" incident so I asked other people in the q ????

I've been using the TG476 Syd-BKK for many years and never had a problem.
I actually first started flying to BKK back in '83 when there was always a stopover in Singapore enroute. That TG flight used to dep. Syd at 4.30pm.
In more recent times (post 2010) I noticed their 747's were getting a bit shabby. I always flew in the upstairs section of Bus. Class.... on some, the overhead lockers were quite small in that area. They refurbished their 747's but the fact remained that they were still using old planes when other airlines (at the same time) were updating.
I decided to shop around and found that Emirates (Bus. Class) Syd to BKK were $1,200 cheaper!!!! Plus (and included) a Limmo ride to and from Airports and that great bar on the plane. (A380) A definite aid in the prevention of D.V.T.
Unfortunately in mid 2019, Emirates ceased flying the SYD to BKK route.
I then, in late 2019 booked again with TG for a trip in 2020 but alas Covid grounded all flights, and their impending bankruptcy didn't help my confidence that I'd be flying with them in the near future.
Your question in this Forum has shed a bit more light on my prospects.
I can't help you, but your question's responses have given me some confidence that maybe in the New Year they will honour my 2 business class tickets... the fact that they have been answering their phones here in Sydney is a great start!
Good luck!
March 2019 they used the A 350, perfect even in economy class. Special socks may prevent or help with your DVT problem if you can not walk around.

Thai Airways is a very average, and I mean very average airline, ... but up to you as they say.
I used jetstar and Thai to Melbourne, one can note the difference but I opted mostly for the cheaper Jetstar because of the price otherwise I would take Thai. Some strange folks on jetstar sometimes.

Would love if they would do the same in Europe, each protest in Brussels has only a few Belgians the rest is import or from an neighboring country. It would kleen up the place. Probably the same in Strasbourg.

If gaining Citizenship by marriage to a Thai, you don't need to sing the National anthem and the Royal anthem.
You don't need a Thai passport to buy land, a passport is just for travelling to other countries.
Did you have to give up your previous nationality or is it enough that you say you will?

Good luck, after many years someone at immigration told me that they consider only people with salaries above 80.000 baht. I never found that rule on paper during my research. I know a couple people as well but they had a bigger company than me.
By reading the links I just found out that they changed that in 2008, although I'm sure I asked the immigration almost every year.

Why not? It's great, especially when you bump into an immigration officer in Tesco Lotus that used to give you a hard time ????
Well I did bump in to a lot of immigration officers, their houses are nearby ???? The only one that wanted a bribe I met again in a furniture store ???? I also bumped in to the Tourist police officer that arrested me, his team received 30.000 baht to make the arrest. I did give him a big smile and a huge way, you should have seen his face after me still being around????.
