Well looking at TG's own website, the distressed asset sale isn't going so well, surprise surprise!

    http://thaiaircrafttrading.com/index.html

Click on the aircraft tab, and as an aviation nerd I follow these things, and nothing has sold so far.

I'm also tickled by the 'as-is where-is'' disclaimer

I've seen what TG considers long term storage. The A340-500's were parked outside at DMK with little more than engine blanks for years. The airframe and internal electronics left in a hot humid climate will be rotted to Hell.

There is a reason airlines pay the money to send their surplus aircraft to storage facilities in Victorville, Teurel and Alice Springs, something that would be met with a 'deer in the headlights' response from anyone at TG management

Another problem is that when they get an offer for a plane at real value at the real market price they probably refuse because it is to low in their opinion.

The escaping suspect, however, accidentally drove into a roadside creek and tried to escape, just as the pursuing forces arrived at the scene. A brief gunfight took place and the driver was killed in a hail of bullets.

Good, now they don’t have to waste time on a trial and tax payers don’t have to pay for him to sit in prison.

And.... he will not be able to reveal who is receiving the brown envelopes.

Love the fact that people are still falling for the myth that 'Chiropractors' are actually Doctors! Next they will be claiming that Homeopathy works.

Same thing with vaccins, some think it works others will never admit it. Doctors have a strong lobby, same goes for the pharmacies.  Both lose money to the chiropractors, homeopathics, herbal doctors Chinese medicine and acupuncture. And god does exist as well ????

translation "thai chiropractors were mad that these guys had bigger practices than they had "

Probably not Thai Chiropractors, but regular doctors. Until a couple years ago they even where not recognised (legal) by the Thai medical board. I once got a list of chiropractors active in Thailand and they had less than 10 people on that list. Many foreign chiropractors had to work with hospitals or leave the country.

My point is the reason that Thailand still have all the entry requirements is due to a low % of the population being vaccinated. Whereas the US i'd suspect has a high % like most western countries by now.

I don't care where your vaccine came from or what you paid for it, what's that got to do with anything?

Not sure the US has more % vaccinated. Many people refuse in the west, in Thailand they obey whatever rule they make. The whole thing has nothing to do with the numbers in my opinion. They just do what they did for the last 100+ years, make easy things difficult (for foreigners) so that those with power can control. 90 days, one year extensions, work permits, insurrences, no land ownership, PR, many rules considered discrimination in other countries etc etc, they just love (addicted) all that (useless) paperwork. The paperwork on arrival is just a new thing that we can add to the list. None of the above paperwork and rules are based on common sense.

    you never answered the question.

I knew you would say that ???? If you are not vaccinated in the US it is probably a choice, we in THailand had to wait for more than a year to get our hands on the vaccin even you paid for it 6+ months ago.  Mine was made in the US and was free, the ones I paid for did not arrive yet. Numbers? What kind of numbers would make you happy something like the TAT numbers?

Do you think that 13-year olds have, or should have, immunity from prosecution for criminal offences?   Talk about opening the floodgates!

Same thing would happen anywhere else for human trafficking offences.  Just because a child is initially arrested doesn't mean that he will remain in police custody.

You remind me a little about the Germans 70+ years ago.

    Actually I have.

I fly 2X per month pre covid.

If you love Thaiairways so much you can have it.

I will avoid and a bonus avoid  you in the process.

Typical white knight comes to the defense of his fair Thailand..

The moniker makes sense the only somchais I know are scummy Moron local police..

FYI I have a personal problem with THAI as well but that does not make them scumbags, those who run the show are, but not all the (unconnected) staff who do their best but can not fight the corrupt system. There are other, dangerous, airlines operating within the kingdom of Thailand that nobody cares about to investigate.

Nothing wrong with Boeing 777 and 787, World leader in twin engine aircraft...loved my Brisbane to Bangkok direct flights

Stay up to date, there is an Aussie with daily updates on aviation related stuff. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC29_CCc5qpnRaVryYIKiLeg They just (couple months ago) found a problem with a part going back to 2019 which grounded them and halted all deliveries of the 787. JAL is getting rid of their 777.  THey have also problems with the delay of the 777X program (as many other manufacturers have). Airbus has a fare share of problems as well.

My argument is that it will save an airline a lot of money when they use airplanes with the same (similar) cockpits. Example, to train an A 330 pilot to get his A 320 rating (Thai to Thai smile) it will cost 380.000 baht. To train a 777 pilot to get his A 320 rating it will cost around 2.1 million while a rating for a new pilot will be around 2.8 million for the same A 320. FYI an A220 pilot upgrading to an A 320 will cost more as it was initially a Bombardier. The same goes for all Boeing companies, they save a lot of money (bigger order, same maintenance etc etc) by using only Boeing. On the other hand you have risks when they are all planes grounded and you have no back-up.

Thaiairways still owe me money from canceling my tickets in 2019.

I will NEVER fly with the scummy company again even if I can get cheaper more direct flights I will gladly pay slightly more and fly a better service, class, comfort airline (Qantas,  Singapore, Emirates, Qutar)

Thaiairways is dead to me never again.

    Scumbags.

FYI all those you mentioned (probably) still own money to THEIR customers, you only move from one scumbag to another. Do some research and you find it. A Dutch guy who is willing to pay more for less is a new thing for me. ????

  11. Remove all the influence from politicians, military and government officials and you would have the best Airline in the world. Unfortunately it will never happen. Many staff and ex staff are sick about it but have no power to change it. Look at the choice of airplanes that remained. A 320 with Smile, A330, A 350 and even de A 380 would have been less headage, but most of the ex military guys, (who have more power within THai) are flying Boeing, the company that helped with the reorganisation is American based and has no airline but only American defense experience. So actually nothing did change about nepotism and corruption. Good luck.
