I knew already that they use there fists to investigate people, but this is a bit over the top. To clean the RTP there should be some policemen from abroad have to come to Thailand to educate them, as they did in Iraq after Saddam Hussein...
Like in Kaboul ? Put 90% of all the generals in jail to start with and 80% of all above Captain.
Probably you removed 95% of all the scum already. Confiscate their properties and freeze their bank accounts. You probably can pay off half of the countries dept. Daughter of a friend is a young lawyer that wants to become a judge 1 day. She joined the police force and after training she just lasted 2 weeks at a police station as she did not wanted to get involved with what was going on. I personally witnessed more than 5 different cases where police from different branches was involved in illegal activities.

Bit strange that his transferred and not put in jail directly while the investigation is ongoing. The fact that he is on the run will probably mean he will never be found. The police does not like their dirty laundry out.
The police needs reforming and officers should be punished much harsher for corruption and stuff like this. As long as they can operate like this nobody will trust the police.
Firing squad is the only solution.

I believe immigration does has the authority to check the balance of your account whilst you are under consideration.
In fact I know someone who a few years ago foolishly withdrew money from their account whilst they were under consideration and they were called in by immigration before the date stamped in their passport to be told their marriage extension application had been refused because their funds had dropped below 400,000 baht.
This was at Chiang Mai immigration.
I actually stop and update my bank book on route to immigration on the day my under consideration period ends.
I've never been told to do this or have I read that it is necessary, I just think it pays to think ahead and be prepared because one day....
Never had any check nor request for an update during the last 25 years from CNX immigration. Yes, when I applied all was checked but never a month later when I went for my extension.

Stop paying them until they meet their own goals. Those in the tourist don't earn a penny as long as they keep on doing stupid things so it would only be fair if those at the TAT would not get a salary as well.

As far as I know it is needed. The rules have changed more than once in the past 2 years.
Thanks for the update, we opted for the Partnership Ltd. for that reason.

The company must have at least 2 million baht of registered capital per work permit.
There is no requirement prove it came from abroad.
20 + years ago a partnership Ltd. (3 shareholders) did not need to show the money, a company Ltd. (7 shareholders) had to show a bankbook. Don't know if it is still like this (CNX)

Somchai please remember that Thais may not pay much in income taxes.
But they are constantly paying taxes when they purchase goods. Taxes on practically every thing.
I'm surprised there wasn't more news about the Thai profit. You'd think news would be shoving it in everyones face.
Yes, but a lot of local shops do not even have a register and 7% is not much compared to other parts in the world. Good news gives people hope, bad news keeps them afraid. Makes me think that those in charge are a little <deleted> now that they can not put their hands in the cookie jar anymore. ???? The brown envelopes from the private companies probably help their decisions as well. It is a good time to start a new airline, many planes available and excellent period to apply for licenses (without much overhead) and start training as the competition can not fly as well but still need to pay a lot while having almost no income.

All Foreigners have a right to a Covid 19 Vaccination.
The fact that we are all members of the Human Race qualifies us, not a Visa or Work permit Etc
Thailand statement " we do not discriminate against Foreigners "
You are right but go and tell that to a golf club ???? If you pay membership or green fee you can play you may invite a friend but somebody has to pay for him. Social security is the same thing. That's unfortunately how it works. Others can use their own insurance but those have a lot of string attached especially for those who are older. That's why I'm <deleted> of by those embassies (extension of their government) that refuse to help their own while many still pay taxes and contributions in their home country. And yes if you were my friend I would pay for you if necessary.

Probably be cheaper just to buy out there contract.
Its the many perks, insurance, etc that can affect a large underperforming companies bottom line.
Unless you do like Ryan Air, but then again except for building hrs (young pilots) nothing in it for them (employees) on the long term. Thai 1 free domestic and 1 free international ticket is not much. Yes reduced fees for tickets but sometimes a Vietjet ticket was cheaper, faster and safer to get in BKK. I think most of the perks went to welconected people not actually working for Thai. Do not forget that those working for Thai do pay high income taxes as everything is done by the book while 90+% of THais even don't pay income taxes.

K'nel. The two lady dog's owners say they will put a sign on their gate saying do not feed the dogs.
A trip to the vets and a shot of whatever works would be the correct answer.

My friend living in the war zone at that time told me the same, during the day they showed slingshots and during the night they moved the real weapons around. BBC shame on you, I stopped watching them and found out that during that period Al Jazeera was closer to the facts without taking sides.

Good morning
I have a question in Relation to marriage extension of stay as follows 1. Which Royal Thai Police order defines the immigration home visit. 2. Is the immigration home visit now a common matter ?? 3. How often can one expect such a visit ??

Never had a visit in 25+ years, I live 1 km away from their office.

When we married in 95 she had no choice to keep her own name, the amphur changed it just after the marriage papers where completed. My home country did not allow us to marry over there, you had to do it in THailand first.

Every immigration office has delegated powers to vary requirements on a case by case basis. It is not illegal it's just the use of those delegated powers. That said the use of agents on marriage extensions is discouraged by agents because of referral by immigration to their HQ. I only used an agent on my first extension and have done it myself the last 8 times. It's not that difficult if you deal with the same office.
Off course they don't want the HQ to know they are doing something naughty.

It would help if Australia sent some mRNA vaccines to jab Australians here.
Yes I'm disgusted, let your own rot and help the corrupt ones instead. Tells you everything about how politicians think. Belgium the same thing, did not want to help their own (however they flew in stuff for those at the embassy )but send 4,5 million doses to poor countries.

Please educate me. These are under the table extensions. When you obtain a visa under the table from an agent, are you engaging in an illegal activity, possibly facing legal consequences if the agent is exposed by a governement investigative?
Don't worry they sponsor this site everything is fine. Dr Jack knows

Well can't keep thousands of people on a payroll of a company losing millions of dollars a day.
14,000 people is excessive.
They only flown 23 flights in 17 months.
Most practically empty.
I personally let everyone go and sell off the assets.
That's next.
"Bankrupt Thai Airways International has put 34 passenger aircraft from its fleet up for sale, hoping to find buyers by Nov 13."
No buyers
Creditors have only so much patience.
Crappy airline anyways, good riddance!
Not a Crappy Airline just very bad corrupt management like in many government run companies.
Do you have the list of the 34 airplanes for sale? Searched for it but could not find.
Ryan Air that's crappy and scary airlines based on American style management. Money only people not important.

Let the lawyers pay to whole thing.

Cush job.
There still 14,000 people on the pay roll.
Doing nothing.
Next group is ready to be laid off. Early to mid nineties I think they had 30.000 + on the payroll. Even when not flying, planes need maintenance as well as many systems or they will lose their license. Pilot crew need SIM to stay current. A young pilot friend at Lion was grounded and received 5000 baht a month salary. Not much if you calculate what is paid for schooling and training before being hired. Nok scoot pilots got a meeting in the morning and got fired in the afternoon.

They haven't.

Used to be 21,000 until they 'trimmed" it last year.
A bloated and terribly managed company
Your are partly right at least the last sentence. Now who managed it, who drained the money? Not their staff. Doing nothing, yes you may not have noticed but nobody is flying. Do not forget the CAAT, another incompetent department. The AOT, look at all the members of the board, most these departments are filled with people from the armed forces. The reason they continued with Boeing is that most of the pilots on Boeing are ex military and those on Airbus are not. Those who made cut and stayed are mostly connected, not difficult to understand.

one can feel for the Nok Air's, Lion air and Bangkok Airways, but not for Thai airways as they got everything they deserve.
NO Steven NL the people working at Thai did not deserve this. Your favorite general and his cronies together with Taksin are to blame. THe (former) big boss of NOk was an A hole, LIon has a very bad safety record and Air Asia was helped by the Taksin family. THai Viet jet is charging young pilots 2.800.000 for their rating. It is called Pay 2 Fly and banned in Europe and other parts of the world. Bangkok Airways is the only one on your list that deserves some sympathy.
