  1. My other question is this:

I have one more year to pay on my car loan. What must I do in order to sell the car? Can I sell it and then pay off the remainder of the loan or do I have to pay off the loan first?

    Thanks again

If you lucky to transfer the loan, you may save yourself the penalty, that normally(?) is around 50% of remaining interest+ the balance of course....

  2. Thank you all for your helpful answers. I found a Thai manufacturer who has provided me with a price of THB 22.000 for a 179*84*43cm box including bars and installation. It seems like a design copy of Thule. I think perfect for what I need and stroller plus a bag fits nicely.

Do you mind sharing .... :)

  3. You obviously did not look at his ad....his location on the map in B&S was just a few km away from where I was staying,so no big favor to ask....and the weather was perfect.....

...I've ask of his correct(!) phone number and never was given...also the name of his 'law' firm, which he's given me,could not be located in Phuket...

BTW,the photo shown,is not of his bike....and the phone number is not his.....

why dont you just let this deal go and move over to another one?

lots of genuine 2012 and up kawa er6ns around to buy for 200 k thb.

while trying to save 15 - 20 k, you have wasted lots of time already in your life just by exchanging emails or trying to reach the guy and trying to figure out if the deal is scam or not!

II2,you just wasted your valuable time writing this comment,I think... wink.png

  4. Back on topic....

I was in Phuket for a few days, very busy, but still wanted to see this bike. After numerous attempt to call, finally the guy answered...but that was a wrong number(some French guy)....send some emails and got the answer after 2 days...but not the answer I was looking for....

The ad in B&S shows the map location in Cape Panwa, very close to where I was, maybe a couple of km,so I've asked,if he can come to me and show the bike, because I did not have a transportation and did not want to wonder around in the taxi....

...so here it is,his email back to me....hold your breath....

    ...."Dear Sir

Who do you think you are some jumped up foreigner ?? , do you seriously think i am slightly interested in riding all the way over to Cape Panwa to show you a motorcycle that you might even not buy , if i was stupid enough to do that , i would be spending all my time showing my bike around to people .

If you would like to see my motorcycle then please come make an appointment with my Law office in Phuket Town , (..................) i am a very busy lawyer and not willing to ride my bike around the Island of Phuket just to show interested party's and i am sure no one else would either.

The bike means absolutely nothing to me , i paid 300,000 for it 5 months ago , its a toy , i couldn't care less if i sold it or not , i certainly don't need your money , i have far more than you could possibly imagine .

I suggest if your to lazy to come and look yourself then buy i new one like i did , they may even deliver it for you to Capa Panwa ."....

...so here you go....I think it is still for sale....tongue.pngw00t.gif

with this kind of behavior, i just tell him to go f. himself.

Sure, your request sounds odd to, let a seller come and show you the bike still his response is wild and disrespectful.

I don't doubt your intentions but I can see his point. People often forget that Phuket is quite big and he's clearly not in Panwa from his response, quite often I can clock up 200 km in a day. Also it's rainy season and Panwa is right over on the far East coast. Depending on where he is coming from it could take up to an hour to get there, same to get back in the heat or the rain. I can understand it. The bike looks lovely and a bargain to boot. I have the older version Ninja and was tempted. But for me if I buy another bike I would need a litre bike.

  6. I have a Honda scooter and if I was buying a new one, from those 2 bikes then I would choose the Nouvo. No problems with my Honda at all, it's great. Two rear shocks on the Nouvo can help a lot or the larger 'farang'. I've read the click seems a little faster but I doubt there's much difference. Nouvo looks nicer for sure. At that level of bike it should really come down to which one you like the look of the best.

Rent them both and see which you prefer.

The resale on Yamaha compared to Honda is dreadful.

...and that is because Thais only know Honda...and Nouvo is to big for most of them anyway....but because of its size,Nouvo is much more suitable for a Western rider.

  7. 515K for Yaris,little much...http://www.taladrod.com/w20/Search/TbSch3F_40.aspx#y1:2012+y2:2012+mk:37+md:507

...you can get a new Yaris for that,almost...it starts at 519K smile.png

I think he means total price including finance charges.

Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Interest is always higher on second hand cars....and there is a big difference between 'old' and 'new' Yaris,so probably better to pay just a little bit more and get a brand new design car... smile.png

Yep you're right the 'new ' Yaris is an oversized eco car with a 1200cc engine. The old one had the 1500cc.

Are you trying to say, that the 'old' Yaris for 515K is better deal than the new bigger and more economical model for 519K ?

  9.

Not the case with me. I paid 1million for our vigo which was £20,000 to our my car in the UK would cost £28,000. I think we got a good deal. Plus my wife got the 10% rebate so saved even more.

Pick up trucks are subsidized in Thailand, as they are for commercial use. That is why single cab and double/king cabs have a significant price difference. Other non commercial cars on the other hand are very expensive, usually 2-3x the normal price paid outside. Pick up trucks on the other hand are 30%+ cheaper in Thailand due to government subsidy for the pick up trucks itself.

    Exactly.

Thats why I live here. Cause the UK is a damn rip off with all the damn immigrants living there and working for peanuts. Taking food off a British mans table. Its disgusting and they should be all sent back to Poland.

...and now,you are a damn UK immigrant in Thailand....hope,that you don't work and don't take the food off those poor Thais table.......tongue.pnglaugh.pngcheesy.gif (sorry for to be off topic ) wink.png

  10. People throwing around the term 'overdrive' would be advised to look up the meaning of the word - just go to Wiki.

These days no manufacturer offers an 'overdrive' gear, whatever the advertising blurb or the armchair experts say. If the transmission is a 5 speed then the 5th speed is 5th gear, not overdrive.

Gearing in vehicles is designed to use most efficiently the torque/power available from the engine over all speed ranges and throttle positions. Overdrive is an outdated notion which has no place in the modern vehicle.

I am not throwing it around, there is even a little button on my shifter when pressed says Overdrive Off. Better take it up with Nissan smile.png

...as the man says..."Overdrive is an outdated notion which has no place in the modern vehicle.".....better update to a new Navara... biggrin.pngwink.png

  11. "...Reports tonight that seven-time F1 champion Michael R. Schumacher has woken from more than 5 months in a coma, having been released from the Grenoble hospital where he has been receiving treatment after a skiing accident in the French Alps last December

The team at BH would like to wish Schuey all the best during his rehabilitation on the road to recovery..."

Hope he's going to fully recover....Good News! thumbsup.gif
