  1. I'm concerned about the safety too.

I don't want to get beat up by a Thai gang!

    What a pathetic comment !

I have been here for many tears and have never been "beat up" by a Thai gang.

If you are one that attracts or looks for trouble then stay away!

    edit

    Removed typo

    Stay away from Hua Hin.

  2. 20 years ago it was fine. Too many farang now.

45 years ago it was fantastic. I only saw one other farang while I was there.

I first went there in 1978. Patong had 1 hotel. The original Patong Beach Hotel. I stayed in a little cement bungalow with a fan. Thought it was awesome having the beach to myself. I did see one other farang. A friend that came with me.

  3. Did it not come with a small pump with integrated cartridge filter?

If not, and the pool has 2 sidewall "ports" to facilitate one, maybe buy one of these? http://www.lazada.co.th/intex-2006-8-12-28604-2564348.html

Sorry, just read your post again and noted "cheap crap filter". The thing is, it's not crap really, you just need to run it for 12-24 hours/day for it to do the job, and pull the filter out daily for rinsing. Running it only when the pool is in use is not enough. Same goes for every pool.

Rare that people re read or thoroughly posts on TV. Thanks for that.

But these filters on their best day cannot stop algae or the cloudy water. That is why all pools require maintenance including chemicals.

    Previous experience with these pumps.

  4. Excellent answer. I figured as much but with my lack of knowledge, I thought it better to ask.

Actually my answers were not from TV but people with pools. Probably the same result though.

  5. I relented and bought a small rubber pool for the kids. I guess the capacity at 3-4000 liters. It has a cheap crap filter.

I would like to know how to keep it clean since I have no desire to empty an fill it regularly.I know bleach will will keep the algae at bay but what to use to keep the water clear? I know a few things but not much. Is a pool place in order? I have several people tell me that the pool places know fuckall mostly.

Is it cheaper to just empty an fill it? I did buy a cover to keep the big stuff out and taught the kids to wash their feet before getting in.

  6. Restructure the system NOW.

Don't wait until it rains as it probably won't start when the TMD predict but I hope that the rainy season will start by July and that we will have more rain than last year.

IMHO it will take about 2 years or more to gets the dams and reservoirs back to where they should be.

IMHO a rain like Texas has had in the last month would fill the reservoirs to over capacity.

  7. Don't know how they price but I think it is by the meter.

Use a Thai company (reputable). That may take some time but worth it. Farang owned companies are way over priced and pretty much do the same quality work. Thai do all the work.

Thai have a habit of using PVC on corners. Absolute crap. Specify aluminum. A few other things you should know but I have no idea your style.

  8. Ive been using the Thai made Bigass jeans for about 1 year now. Price/quality is good, they're soft and not hot at all. Also nice cut and style.

Another good thing is you can take out the knee protectors from the outside, which is very handy.

I think you meant BadAss jeans. But thanks. I brought a bunch of riding jeans with me but I will need later.
