Is it in a way possible to check T.M. 30 registration without visiting Immigration?
Is there any possibility to check that T.m 30 is in order without visiting Immigration? The better half registered online and got it approved, but I'm not sure if my local Immigration office is that much up to date with what's happening online! Thanks Felt

Free event aims to shed light on the new tax rules for foreign income brought into Thailand
I have in all modesty read that list but as the publishers themselves say in plain text The authors are not lawyers or tax advisers. You, the reader, remain entirely responsible for your own financial and tax affairs. Having said that, I'm skeptical of nature and especially when it comes to tax departments, immigration etc. and I think that's common sense. Anyway, thank you for replying. Felt

Can I then lower my shoulders and count on that this mean that interest earned on deposits in a foreign bank (in my case deposits in banks in the home country) is not taxable as long as neither the deposit interest nor the deposit is transferred to Thailand? Thanks Felt

Insurance with deductible
Thanks for that one. I have, knock on wood rarely needed medical treatment but getting older so that can change quickly but maybe I should go for their top plan covering 50million and premium 130K annually, but with a 300K deductible ending up with 50k premium I have got discount every year because I never have had any claim but last year that all turned when insurance company sent me a letter explaining that due to general increased cost for insurances, they upped the price with 10%. Insurance with deductible
Probably a stupid question for those who know more about health insurance, but anyway, how does a health insurance with a deductible of, for example, THB 100,000 work if the hospital visit, for example, only costs THB 30,000? I've never had any "major" cases in terms of health, but 2-3 less serious, like last year suddenly for unknown reasons an infection in the skin which was inflamed, and a small operation had to be done plus going in and out of the hospital cleaning wounds for several weeks etc. In total, this cost no more than about THB 28,000 so my question is with a 100K deductible who paying then, the insured or the Insurance company? Btw, I have insurance but did not use it for the above occasion. Thanks Felt

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
In my experience I have had to prove copies of passport and on the copies mark eventually departure/entry and in addition attached a short but polite note where I write my name and TIN number and the departure/entry's periods and sum up total days in Thailand for the actual tax year. Felt

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
I personally don't think so, because then Immigration should accept the Tax payment Certificate and Certificate of Residence from the tax authority as proof of income for extensions. Which have been tried but with a big no from Immigration. Felt

Drunks
Well, I'm afraid they are serious. But whether you call it a joke, a job opportunity for locals, total madness or simply a way to smooth out greed and bad alcohol policy, you have to ask yourself what is going on in the top floor of those in power who for years use large resources to allow people spending their hard earned income on drinking longer towards the morning, and at the same time open alcohol sobering up centers which, if they are to function, probably take even more resources. Its IMO a bit like voluntary pay and want to be sick, and then fixed up in a hospital. Felt

Abhisit quits Democrat party
There hasn't been anywhere near any democracy in Thailand since Chuan Leekpai was Prime Minister in the 90s and it was sparse even then. Abhisit is doing the right thing and withdrawing as a candidate and it has nothing to do with qualifications to do, but more to do with that he does not want to be in a democratic party as there is a big possibility, they will take sides with Pheu Thai.
