Clarification on Retirement Visa
Felt 35 replied to Slinky1958's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Question⁉️From what I understand in relation to the Immigration Act, 800K have to be deposited in a Thai Bank 2 months before extension based on retirement. At the same time, I see that some mention 3 months and even 12 months have been mentioned. What do you do if the respective immigration office says 12 months. Do you give up and apply for another type of visa or do you proceed with your case to higher officers. Adding that this is not a first-time extension, but a first-time extension based on 800K but at the same Immigration office. Previously used income verification from embassy. Btw, will it as example only be possible to transfer enough pension to a savings account monthly so it 2months before application is 800K plus and use that as proof of income or do it have to be a separate account from savings? Thanks Felt -

Thanks, but unfortunately, I don`t think so. I have approximately US 45K annually in pension and a health insurance here which cover approximate 3mill Thb but no investment in Thailand and I guess it stops there. I have healthy savings abroad, but they will be there to my demise. Felt -

Can really wonder but I guess they would be unemployed without all the "#¤¤¤#"#¤ %& Bangkok Bank account for 28-years, paid taxes on more than 800k annually the last 15 years documented annually from Revenue dep., with tax payment certificate and certificate of residence, and retirement extension for 14 years. Sorry for the rant, but what kind of transition? Felt -

But does this also apply to extension based on retirement? I can see in the text above reason for application, documents required, and procedures that retirement is mentioned but the rest seems to be application based on marriage Felt -

Thanks for the information, but I think I will follow DrJack54's information regarding monthly transfer and 12-month account statement, summary of foreign transfers as well as update of current balance and if that is as Drjack54 say can be prepared up to 7 days before application at Immigration. This will actually be very much as what I provide revenue dep. annually. And if any great change with the Immigration regulations I can always choose the 800k in bank method. Felt -

I've only been to Australia once, and that is almost two decades ago. But I was impressed by their knowledge and skill in guiding people in their own country when I asked for directions, whether it was driving directions or places you simply have to see when there. Felt -
Proof of income

Up to 7 days before was good to know then 2-3 days before hopefully are accepted. In Bank book the code says FTT and on Statement it says Foreign T/T (Bangkok bank). Felt -

Clarification on Retirement Visa
Felt 35 replied to Slinky1958's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks. For this year I can and will use embassy letter. However, should I inform IO already this year that I plan to use transfers for next year's extension and maybe show them what I mean with a copy of the 12-month bank statement I already have from paying taxes in March and an updated bank book? Hmm..I never update that book so maybe an idea to start now. Felt -
Proof of income
Felt 35 replied to comfortablynumb54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I`m in the same situation as OP and have used income letter from embassy and I have been doing monthly transfers for around 75K for years and use 12 months statement from bank to show these transfers when paying tax to Thai revenue dep. Could I use the same statement for Immigration and retirement extension? What other proof from bank would they most likely want. I plan on 800k in bank but not happy to do that so if I could use monthly transfers, I would prefer that. Felt -

Thanks, but what do you in this circumstance mean with "check compliance" with the terms for the previous extension? Previously I have used income letter from embassy which show gross pension which naturally are higher than 800k, will that be not in compliance?😕 I transfer every month approximately 75k, so as far I understand an option can also be to use the monthly transfer option as proof of income, but as I understand from people on AN that is a papermill compared to 800K in the bank! Thank you for replying So, 2 months before first extension with 800k method, ok, I plan to keep the 800k on one account (untouchable for other expenses). I have already three savings accounts but would prefer to have the 800k separate on a fixed deposit account if immigration accept that kind of account and if bank allow opening of a new account these days Thanks Felt -

Clarification on Retirement Visa

I plan to start retirement visa extension based on 800k in bank next year (already on retirement exstension) so I allow me to ask if its 2, 3 or 12 months in advance the 800k have to be deposited in the bank? What kind of account do Immigration generally accept is it as you mention a 12-month fixed deposit account? Btw, and a bit straying from question but what is the general rule for the validity of an income letter from an embassy? Thanks Felt
