Yes, it's probably a good idea, but I've anyway decided to take a "medical autumn holiday" in my home country and expect that the doctor will order both an X-ray and an MRI. I would have liked to not travel and have treatment here but am getting a little tired of finding a specialist hand doctor who initially prioritizes conventional treatment as far as possible. So far two top hospitals in Bangkok says surgery just with looking at the x-ray without even a personal consultation😕 Felt

I just picked the article from the web and of course the calorie content will vary according to the quality of the ingredients and not least the chef. Well, I guess I should have been a little more careful, but now I've been around with this thumb / hand for a few months already, so it seems a little unreal that a major hand surgery would be necessary! I am attaching one of the x-ray images taken a few days after the incident. Felt

I'm concerned you're right Sheryl but that said a major surgery seems a bit unreal as I use my hand/thumb daily but there are things like holding the throttle on the motorcycle, wringing out a washcloth, turning off a cork on a bottle and generally with what we do daily where the thumb is used which induces pain. In any case, I'm crossing my fingers for an easier second opinion. Felt

I have a non-displaced fracture of the first metacarpal bone located at the base of the thumb and the hospital /doctor I have used insist on surgery to realign and stabilize the fracture. But I think their pricing is a bit step for my budget (200K ++) and are looking for alternative hospitals. Felt

With 24 years in Phuket plus the 4-5 years "after covid" split between central Thailand and Phuket, I honestly don't know. Too much traffic yes, too many undesirable and drug addicts yes. But for me personally, with the same place of residence for 24 years among the local population on the outskirts of the city center, I feel at home. And even in today's traffic I cycle there, yes you have to get up early, half a dozen swimming pools and that's just the ones I've used, King Rama IX Park, (Suan Luang Park) for a walk/jog or just to hang out for a while away from the rat race and not least the plus that what you can't buy/shop in Phuket, there is no reason to look for it elsewhere. Having said that shopping is not exactly "my thing" Summary it was a Paradise turned 180 degrees...but in my heart Phuket will always be number one. Not to forget, Phuket have the best air quality in Thailand. But as the saying goes horses for courses. Felt

May I add that I have paid tax here for more than 15 years and this year I paid tax for 2023 in the last week of February 2024. In the last week of June 2024 (today) RD's Pn 91 comes in the post with as usual filled in TIN, Name and address. Oh no, it's not the first time this has arrived in the post, but it always arrives 1-2 months after the tax has already been paid. So yes, personally, I can only imagine the overview and "tidyness" when tens of thousands of foreigners need a TIN to be registered and checked in the system. Felt

Until now (will probably change 2025) I have always got the answer from the local revenue dep that as foreigner, retired no work permit and income only from pension I cannot file online. Felt

Thank you for replying. No cervical spine MRI or no daily back/neck pain except morning stiffness which I put on age 👴but I have a broken thumb and a minimal shoulder fracture (have CD`s of both with x-ray images) Felt

Would like information about one or more recommended public hospitals in Bangkok or/and with a semi-private department that still accepts foreigners for treatment, (arm/shoulder surgery). I am aware of longer waiting times and more bureaucracy than at private hospitals, but as a pensioner I have plenty of time. Thanks in advance. Felt

So, we are supposed to only add interest gained yearly on the top of pension income🤔But income (in my case pension) has to be proved with a 12 month bank statement here who show the transfers month by month, but I never touch saving or the interest on bank account abroad so will be exciting to see if they go to the length and demanding bank statement from bank(s) abroad which then most likely have to be translated and verified by Mfa....
