No doubt said governor has a string of medical and environmental tertiary qualifications to enable this informed statement.

Perhaps he is under pressure from the tourist industry to assure visitors all is well. I can't see any other reason for making a dunce of himself publicly.

The reason, well someone waived to the smog a while ago so best to keep camaraderie intact????

The best place to get vitamins and other supplements in Thailand is on Lazada or Shoppee. Look for good name brands e.g. Puritan Pride, NOW, Natrol, Nature's Bounty etc.

Thanks, but isnt the above products sent from USA and sold for higher prices?

Before you condem people for doing there job go along to your local immigration office and talk through with an officer your money situation and what they will be satisfied with you showing them earnings whatever to approve your stay.

  4. Out of general interest, it is really the case that a retired man cannot use a pension confirmation from his Embassy, which he has done for 15 years, for his annual application if he changes his visa status from a retirement visa to a married visa, but then have to deposit THB 400xxx even if his pension confirmation shows more than three times that sum and the pension proof is issued by one of the countries from which Thai immigration still accepts pension confirmation/income letter! Btw, personally, I'm not going to change my visa status, but if the above is the case, "those in brown" have lost my last bit of respect that was left.

I wrote "... if you own your own condo or house...", so the owner is the landlord...????

No problem with that. I was just wondering if I might have to report in person to Immigration even though the aparthotel has done it and I have even been given a print out of their online T.M 30 registration to keep in my passport!

For house master that can be a user, if you own your own condo or house; a foreigner can own a house, but not the land under it. I'm a registered there, I'm am user, but also house master, so I need to make a TM30 for both myself in my own house, and when I have foreign guests visting me...

I hope you don't mean that both landlord and tenant must register T.M. 30 when renting an apartment where the landlord automatically registers the tenants as a resident of the property, whether it is for a long-term rental of an apartment or a hotel room for one night!?????

  7. How is that swimming pool? I haven't been to Lumpini Park since November 2019 as I don't live in Bangkok permanent, but when I am there a walk/run in Lumpini Park is my first leisure goal. At the time I couldn't remember to had seen a swimming pool in Lumpini before but is it good and is lap swimming possible without noise, screaming and others who are not familiar with swimming pool etiquette? Btw, discrimination is discrimination no matter what it is about.

Sorry but not going to read whole thread again.

You should not have done a TM30 at HH.

The new rules (June 2020) mean that you do not need to file a TM30 when you return to your place of residence.

However some immigration offices are not abiding to new rule.

    Think CM is one.

Guess everyone needs to be aware of what their own immigration office requires.

In recent months I have been to various provinces and today back from Pattaya.

    Few weeks ago Saigon

    etc etc.

A TM30 is not required when I return to Bangkok.

Just back from Immigration now and after presenting my passport and a copy of the apartment hotel's online registration to one of the Immigration's information volunteers, I was told that no other registration is necessary and he simply removed the previous notifications and inserted the last registration made by the apartment hotel I live.

    TM28 is basically obsolete form.

As stated you could have ignored anything to do with HH immigration.

I live in an smaller apartment - hotel in Phuket and the landlord has now finally updated the computer system and have started register guests to Immigration online whether you rent for a longer period or just a night or two as a hotel guest, and when I came back at the weekend I got a print out of a slip where name, passport number and apartment name are noted. Is this good enough for immigration or do I still have to go to immigration with a stack of passport copies and T.M 30 to get  "receipt for notification" stapled in the passport?

    Thanks

Maybe it depends on where you are living.

Last year there was the nearly daily rain reducing the smoky air very much in our Pang Mapha valley. The years before have been horrible, so that we decided to have a smoke-free holiday in Hua Hin.

This year our puyai ban gave the order to contact his office before starting the awful fires. And that seems to work. When you look into the background you recognize, the the air is not free of smoke. But you don't smell it.

The best result of his orders: just to today there hasn't been any fire in the woods of the mountains near to our home, as usual all the years before.

The birds are as happy as we are, hoping this will not change within the next days, weeks or months.

No kick to you directly, but Hua Hin is certainly not recommended for a "smoke-free holiday" as many days it is more polluted there than both Bangkok and provinces with general high pollution.

You cannot have two addresses as your registered address for extensions and such.

If Phuket immigration is crazy enough to want you to make a TM30 there when you return then so be it, however it's not required by the rules since June 2020.

You are sure right in what you say however the form they handed me and I filed was TM28.

  13. I don't know if I should just bow and say thanks, laugh or cry????????, but when I asked about the current regulations regarding the need or not to register address in a province outside the province of residence when staing for a shorter period of time, I got a blank expression back. Case closed. Now what I ended up with was 2 notifications of address in the passport. The one I previously had from Phuket and now one from Hua Hin. As I was never aware that I could have two addresses in Thailand, I asked if this was at all according to the book and was then almost laughed at with the message that many people have two addresses. Not only that, I got the message that I can also make a 90-day report in which of the two provinces I at that time stay. I don't know if this is completely in "accordance" and pass the ball over to "Ubonjoe" to ask what experience he have with this.

Since local immigration offices tend to run fast and loose with interpretation of the rules, you may get more relevant advice if you can name the two immigration offices that may have an interest in your movements. That also helps if your 'home' jurisdiction is one of those that demands you "check-in" with them once you return home. Some (but not all) of them don't care if you are returning to your 'registered' residence.

I can offer that hotels will normally do the reporting of your presence in a different province. It can get a bit convoluted with smaller provincial hotels or if you're staying at a friends home or a rental property. However, the immigration police of the province you are visiting are unlikely to worry about your movements as much as the ones at your home base.

Home residence in Phuket. Condo stay visiting friend one month in Hua Hin.

Most insurance policies issued in Thailand are for one year, so at renewal you're looking at a new policy and an insurer can charge whatever they wish for a new policy. The terms and conditions of your existing policy, and its pricing, are only good for the term stated on the policy. Pricing and terms can change at renewal. The OIC does impose some restrictions on premium increases, however.

That's life! Those who burden the system (any system) the least become the scapegoat for everyone else. Below the exact wording from PC about cost increse.

So my 20% no claim bonus is suddenly just 13%????

Please be advised that this year your base premium has increased by 7% to take into account, amongst other external factors, rising healthcare expenses and inflation. This adjustment applies to all policies commencing from 01/09/2022.
