  1. If you want to be single then be single. If not then stick to one. How would you feel if your significant other was cheating on you?

Straight to the point, as usual, BM.

All of the responses about emotional reactions aside, it is worth mentioning that any relationship is a contract. If someone is not capable of living up to the terms of a contract, don't enter one. Or, better yet and since any contract is negotiable, only make promises that you will live up to. To do anything less honest is to find yourself in legal or emotional court.

Also not discussed here is that the very words like cheating and unfaithful speak to insecurity and possession rather than love. Jeaslosy has nothing whatsoever to do with love, but everything to do with personal emotions and what it takes to destroy a person's trust that another will perform according to their expectations.

When I functioned as a mediator in Divorce Court for many years, I helped separating couples, especially those with children, negotiate new agreements that were more realistic for each party and allowed them to have the freedom to be individuals, yet still work very closely together to ensure that they would both provide quality parenting for their kids. Many of these couples went back into successful intimate relationships together that were more functional because their agreements allowed each to be an individual person while committed to a relationship.

The antiquated and parochial marriage and relationship contracts/expectations just don't work any more in today's world and far more often end up in a train wreck than not.

I have read a lot of your posts before i joined the forum dustoff and you also seem like a very nice guy that makes a very good friend ,neighbor and husband,,.i wish i could express and write as well as you, well done,.
  2. Women get tempted too. Men can be charming, say the right things, make you feel desired. Especially hard not to succumb too if your partner is working hard/working away/busy or generally tired and not giving as much attention to you. BUT, women (in my own personal experience), in general, stop and think carefully about allowing something like that to happen. Consideration for her partner, and consideration for her home life. During a seven year relationship (which in the end didnt work out, but nothing to do with straying or wanting to stray away, from either side), I was approached by men often, even some men who were supposed to be my partners friends. My partner worked hard, worked away sometimes, and sometimes i felt the spark had gone, but out of respect for him I remained faithful. I knew there was too much to lose. When i felt lonely or a bit neglected, i reminded myself about the good points in our life together. No selfish self-indulgent fumbles was worth the guilt i would carry, or the pain it could cause.

But of course, many men enjoy the excuse of "but im a MAN, a women just cant understand." That of course, is up to you. Thankfully I have never experienced someone do that to me, and hopefully never will. I imagine the pain the betrayed partner would feel if they found out, must be fierce. Im sorry if it sounds like I have a 'holier than thou' attitude about it. I just believe in monogamy. I believe people should do what makes them happy, but i believe only if it doesnt hurt others in their life. If you wish to be self-indulgent, better to be honest and single. If you have a partner and/or children, you have responsibilities to them. Maybe you are not yet mature enough to have a monogamous permanent relationship.. :o

    edited to correct spelling mistake

You sound like a very special lady,. :D
  3. Now i do love Mrs John2 but tempatation is so high here i always end up straying and regretting it afterwards.

So,is it possible to stay faithful?

From meeting many expats id say 9 out of 10 have been unfaithful, with a lot of these unfaithful on a regular basis.

Absoluty, i think most only marry to have a cook/bottlewasher at home,.Why do these types marry/have women move in if they want to be out f@cking everything in sight ?,.i see it all the time here, they marry a busy bg then leave her in, next thing is "whats happened " shes robbed me,.!...

Where are you meeting these expats? Maybe location has something to do with their straying tendencies.

LOCATION is everything to a Mans straying. I used to work for an oil services company and we were all a normal bunch of guys, working together day by day. Then they started sending us a Month here and a Month there. Every Married guy in our group cheated with hookers and available girls . Only one held back and He got blind drunk every night and ended up an alcoholic.

    It ruined my first Marriage.

    Location, location, location.

Im afraid i disagree,if you have a desire to be unfaithful where you live wont matter, a man that dosent want to or need to wont stray wherever he lives, you are the fault, not the location,..
  5. This ( IMHO ) will be the perfect bike for thailand,if its 150.000 as they suggest il have one before they finish wheeling it in the showroom ! 09_kawasaki_klx250s_graphic.jpg

Also to be available in RED. Though the Kawasaki racing green is nice.

Will the red be available in thailand ? normally its reserved for parts of europe, i actually changed one from green to red in 1995, i sourced the red plastics from france,.
  6. today my lady ask me what so interesting in the

    Internet?

i told her about this post.

    and about falang's

getting ripped off by a Thai lady.

then she told me about 10 cases

in our village ,how Thai male was

ripped off by a Thai lady,

even with 2-3 children and after 10 or more year

    of marriage.

    so tell tour Friend's!!!!

it is a case not only for falang.

so it is your luck ? or not?

you will know in the future

    Yes you are right.

What most of these guys, whose relationship turns to shit with a Thai, fail to mention is that all the other relationships they had with other women turned to shit too. There are very few virgins arriving in Thailand - many have a long history of failed romance but now they blame their bad luck on Thai women's morals.

Yes it is to do with luck, but I have found that the better I try to be as a person the luckier I become.

Spot on, these guys take a show girl or similar for a wife and wonder why they have their money taken off them from a cold bg,.its about selection, i expect these guys being ripped off are blind to the signs that are there for everyone else to see,.
  7. Open a bank account in her name, put $2000 or close in the bank, leave the country for 2 weeks, tell her she can use the money if she needs it, the first time i did it she spent the lot and asked for more,( finished straight away ) the second time ( different girl ) she spent 1500 baht on something for me, ,i married her and seven years on a and a 5 year old daughter later we are still in love, shes my best mate and i wouldnt change her for anything,. luck ? maybe, but it worked for me,.good luck to you,.

Are you f***ing serious? The test is (possibly) going to cost you $2000? You must have more money than sense my friend.

Really, read some of the horror stories on here, i got away lightly, ( no balcony diving lessons for me ).! lol,......and i was earning $30k us a month so its all relevant my friend,.

  9. It pays to take the time to get to know someone before you marry them too.
I agree, that was his first mistake letting her make demands, be a man and do what you want,...if these type of women smell fear and a wimp they will go for the throat,.
  10. I have looked and asked around for the actual arrival date of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R here in Thailand, and the best answer I have gotten is August 2008. The local dealer made it sound as if I could not even pre-order a bike until August. Has anybody else seen or heard of anything different or more definitive(as in actual date)?

The August arrival date is from the local dealer, and the price he quoted is 150,000. I have also seen the price on a couple of other sites. Some quoted prices are as high as 180,000 (on road price) but nothing positive from Kawasaki Thailand. Any other news or stories would be appreciated!!!

    Thank you

    Anuban :D

P.S. If somebody else has pre-ordered a Ninja 250 here in thailand, where have they done it and how much did they have to put down?

I reckon you could torture a thai and still not get an answer, i have asked all the dealers when the kawasaki klx250 is to arrive, i got july and approx 150,.why is it top secret ? , :o
  11. With respect, raybingham, I realised the bank would have the security of the villa as collateral. And I agree, that logically, that would make a difference.

Now . let's get back to the real world. This is Thailand. It would be hard enough for a foreigner 30 years younger and earning five times these pensioner's income, complete with WP and all the accroutements to get a mortgage on a villa. What makes you think it the bank would make it easy for these retirees?

Because the bank is in a win win situation,.high interst rate for a good re payer,( they wont lend without a substancial equity ) repossesion for a bad payer,.

Nonsense. You obviously have no experience of the Thai banking system. To compare a bargirl borrowing money from a bank to a retired foreign couple is ridiculous.

Actually you are wrong again,my neighbor did just that, needed money for personal reasons, they took his house as security and did him a short term loan, i went to the bank with him,.there was a lot of paperwork involving the thai company but he did get it,.
  12. Unbeleivable, ..seems like a set up to me,.got you feeling insecure, cant take care of her, what a joke,..a normal family would never make a request like that,.get out while you still have your money, if my inlaws had shown me that quality on the first ( or any ) meeting i would not have married their daughter, its a buyers market remember ,. ( ps, i wrote this after only reading your initial post )

  13. I think you are comparing a bare bones manual gas 2.7 to a 3.0 D4D Smart,,they a mile apart, a bit like a ford fiesta popular plus versus a ghia ( if anyone remembers those 2 gems ). the 2.7 gas is a slug, the 3 litre diesel is far better, id rather have a 2year old 3.0 d4d than a new 2.7 gas, ugh ! :o

  14. I doubt it is typically "Thai style," and am tempted to delete this topic as Thai-bashing, but will leave it run for now, I guess. The situation you describe sounds rare, and a packed elevator is difficult to unload. They may have thought the less able-bodied could wait for the next, emptier car. Thailand has no exclusive franchise on thoughtless citizens. I have seen similar in the West, by non-Thais.

Yeah it's defiantly debatable and I would not call this a Thai only problem. And I don't think they are being selfish as well. I think its more they as treating everyone the same. I know how they like to cut inline to get there service 1st but its just a normal thing. I think in the west is more educated and advertised to help disabled and less mobil people.

This is more like the answer, most are uneducated and dont have any common sense,.probably dreaming of the next meal,. :o
