  1. FYI ...

    Dear Partner,

It is with much regret that, after many years of broadcasting into the region, I must inform you of the termination of the Australia Network TV service.

As you may be aware, the ABC has been forced to terminate the service following the Australian Government’s withdrawal of its funding. The ABC has developed a new service to fulfil its obligations to broadcast internationally however, at this point in time, this does not include a widely available television channel.

We will be terminating the Australia Network service at 12.00 midnight Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Sunday, the 28th of September. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you wish to know more about accessing blocks of our programming which we are making available for limited syndication to local networks then please address enquiries to Michael Bishay in our International Services department. Michael can be contacted at <removed>

Thank you for your support of Australia Network and the ABC over the years and we hope that one day in the future we may be able to partner with you again.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Lynley Marshall

    CEO ABC International

  2. To learn a bit more look at this FAQ or here on xbchub.com which also has many howto guides etc .. Sorry I have not thought of doing either a seminar nor iptv guide, as the later imho has been done to death.

The only golden rule wither you get a free or a paid service, is that service will only be as good as your internet is regardless of any marketing spin you read. This springs to mind re the internet (spoiler alert - contains a bad word)

For those of you that use addons on xbmchub, (I also host a few of them) the numbers are huge. For the FTV Guide (see image below) it has had over 2,400,000 download this month making it one of the most used out there.

  3. Do your plugins work with Wilmaa? If not, I am not interested.

My last tests were with Gotham 13.2 and it still doesn't work.

A few things these are not true HLS/f4m streams they are simple m3u8 streams .. i.e http://iphone.wilmaa.com/iphone_channel/m3u8/3sat.m3u8

So no my addons do not play simple m3u8 streams, they play proper hls/f4m streams which is what you said XBMC will not do (which it clearly does)

    There are XBMC video add-on for Wilmaa (the TV service) like this screen shot shows;

  4. But the most important nogo on PC's for me:

There's not even one Media Player, which is able to buffer or cache the popular HLS streams (and no: not even XBMC, VLC, Mplayer MPC.)

I use to watch Live sports/TV events streamed by "Wilmaa" which use this format and the non existing buffer causes stuttering and the stream is unwatchable.

With MXPlayer on Android (but not XBMC!) n.P., you press "pause" and the stream is downloaded in the background (timeshifting).

This is not correct as of April this year, where XBMC is concerned as programming and technology have moved on.

I wrote two HLS/F4M add-ons for XBMC one for the BBC (no proxy required) Channels and one for RTE Channel in Eire in both SD and HD, you can see more about them here

    RTE Player

    Enjoy

  5.

YAC is good http://www.yac.mx/ its malware cleaner is superb and I have replaced ccleaner with it  ..

    CCleaner don't remove malware.......

Re-read my note again .. I never said ccleaner was anything to do with malware or the cleaning of malware ....

  6. no they are lists you make for yourself and the epg list you make to go with your tv list (I have mentioned this a few posts ago if you read above) and simply put the links in that area (they are not add-on related this is for adhoc streams)

    1. So make a m3u list for yourself with the channels you want (google will help you find them)

    2. them make the epg list with a xmltv file as outlined in this thread on xbmchub http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/threads/23637-Creating-Your-Own-XMLTV-Files I give some examples in this thread and there is a youtube video http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/threads/23637-Creating-Your-Own-XMLTV-Files?p=214700&viewfull=1#post214700 but the post is mostly about how to the xmltv or EPG part

As I said before it would be beneficial for all if this had its own thread ..

  7. Their site says there were legal problems because “XBMC” was originally based on the name Xbox so they never had any sort of control over the use of its name, which resulted in a whole slew of problems.

Yes but not from Microsoft as you may assume .. rather it was a trademark objection from BMC software..

The Kodi image is OK but this is only a sample shown above and here below - and off topic a bit I released a RTE player this week too for XBMC (Kodi) 14 in our repo at http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/threads/25533-RELEASE-MX-RTE-Player
