  1. IPTV feeds can be unreliable. Hence, I wanted to do it myself. Look at the TOT streams for example which went offline..

However, if I can stream direct from each actually channel station - that'll do fine! smile.png

The ToT, 3BB Cloud, GMM, True IPTV services have never gone off-line, but they have never been free to use as they are subscription based services.

    Proof of post:

    Channel 3 on the ToT service today on Android only, is;

    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:0,003 Channel 3

  2. I tried C band PSI HD receiver on Ku band dish, despite the warning from sat guy. Thats how I figured out encryption. PSI and other local receivers auto update channel list as well as encryption key.

    You what?

You wrote that you used a Ku band dish and LNB for Thaicom C Band?

Impossible, as the Ku single LNB's are on 12ghz and the C Band is on 3-4ghz... See lyngsat for the specs and TP details for that bird .. http://www.lyngsat.com/Thaicom-5-6A.html

  3. Not sure I understand your comment "don't want to sign upfor a service". Most set top boxes like Roku or Apple TV enable access to services like Hulu, Netflix, Vudu etc most of which require some kind of service agreement. One point to note, the firmware is different by region and therefore the apps, so for example a US Roku is unable to get the BBC iplayer, and so far as I am aware there is no way round that. Also in general, you cant buy direct from companies like amazon and have it shipped to Thailand, you need to buy through an ebay, or get someone you know buy you one in the region you want and ship it to you.

On the merits of the boxes, I have both Apple TV and Roku, both work great (note you'll also need some Geo masking service)

Sorry I ment I didn't want to sign up to some Thai iptv service like was in the link above .

I'm using uno telly which is really good but always connecting my laptop to my tv to watch netflix or bbc iplayer ect. I might look in to getting a roku box posted from the uk .

It is exactly what you are asking for with no sign up or no monthly fees .. so where did the idea of a sign up come from ..

You buy it and just watch TV .. simple enough..

  4. On Thaicom 5 C band they are all free to view and free to air with NO encryption. Someone is getting confused with the KU band channels which are not free to view and are encrypted.

Any DVB-S or DB-S2 card will do it if you still wish to go down that route. Or take the IPTV streams as there are over 150 Thai channels via IPTV and rebroadcast them via a wowza or flash server or even vlc at a pinch ..

  5. It's dangerous to assume Jon. Where is 'here', what sort of internet connection do you have?

We have ToT WiNet as there is no available land-line in the village, outright speed is pretty good (7Mbps) but the ping and latency is carp. None of the small-buffer streaming applications work reliably (yes, even XBMC).

UK-TV and 365Sport which are both large-buffer applications work well, just install and run, compared with TrueVisions the cost is minimal and the content infinitely better.

TiT always assume, Internet is from:

mobile data hot spots on ais, true and dtac on wap (only 128k) , H, 3g and good old fashioned 4mbs adsl pots line etc .. most of which via mobile you can get from the Nakon Nowhere village via a mobile hot spot on your phone right so if the local Uk pirated server works .. so will XBMC who has the rights from the BBC/Filmon company.

  6. So there is hope but not from those mentioned above....

    The MX2 user experience *

When you purchase a MX2 box from us here at JSAT.tv, you are protected with a one time 1 month replacement warranty that no one offers and can touch. What extra kinds of warranty do we offer? The kind that says you can break your media center software and we'll fix it within the first year for free, but you pay the return shipping. Find anybody else in this industry that offers that kind of warranty here in Thailand.

Bear in mind, when you purchase a clone box, not only are you getting maybe at best refurbished second hand material, but it is often much older than our current hardware. With that clone also comes no true support, no warranty and a non-existent update policy. So for saving a few baht, does this clone really sound like a bargain afterall?

PS: no monthly fees at all .. free is free

  7. UKTV at. 3,800 Baht for the year is an absolute must if you want British TV.

All the UK TV is free on XBMC - no monthly fees etc - free software so why pay for it ..

A few issues with this XBMC approach:

    1. What internet band speed do you watch it on? Whenever I try this on a 10mbps line I cannot always get it not to buffer, unless its a TOT feed for stuff like ITV choice etc?

    2. This is live TV needs recording to watch it at a reasonable time for most folks in far east? Cannot same be achieved just using the BBC and ITV iplayers using geo unblocker?

    1. Speed - all you need is 4mbs or above and it works 100% with out buffering and it is free to watch

    2. There are many plugins that allow recording / dowloading if that is what you want to do. You can also time shift it too if that is what you want and it is free to watch

Why pay money for a free service?
