I would be investing my time and energy in a HTPC like XBMC (free from XBMC.org) runs rings around plex and any WD device and you can stream TV as well like this example;
-
Sure it is free to use and set up it is called the PVR IPTV Simple Client add-on it is already in every Gotham box (you can read about it on xbmc.org at http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=156218 - but it now in XBMC Gotham version 13.0 upwards) but I have simply configured with streams and the electronic program guide. Works well on everything from your iPad to a PC and most boxes in between.
Maybe we should start an xbmc thread

I'm wondering why anyone in their right mind would use True Vision... I dumped it 10 years ago and not miss it at all. I suggest you look for IPTV options (MAIGE TV, TOT etc.)
Or try something that is free like XBMC ... and arrange it the way you want it ..
-
Don't you also need a digital aerial for the digital TV?
Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile appAlone with digital power to power it too. NO not needed all the time ..
-
yes they do not do it ..

I have used RG-11 in single-sideband installations aboard boats here, just make sure you get the fittings for the fatter cable. KeeHin here in Phuket has it, or at least they did the last time I looked for it, about a year ago. It is a large electrical contractor supply house and quite technically proficient, should be able to handle an inquiry and order from Samui.
75ohm for the boat radio strange, I thought it would be rg8/au the 50 ohm equivalent for the radio like normal.

I want to get American football games ( NFL and NCAA), which company should I go to?
I wrote a free NCAA for the XBMC media center which you can get on XBMCHUB on this link http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/threads/20872-Release-MX-NCAA-HD-Pac-12-video-addon and it works well here in Bangkok .. It is free so enjoy it ..

They will even deliver your RAM to you at home or work, great company to deal with.

I did many tests with www.speedtest.net and 100 pct of the time the servers based in Bangkok
As said above by Pib, do not use those faster than light speed tests .. use a java based tester like the one I posted above, if I use speedtest.net I get 100mbis on the same test to the USA, compaired to a real tester like testmy.net shows above.. One of them is telling lies and it is speedtest, net 99.9% of the time ..
-
From Bkk to the USA done with testmy.net on a ToT lineBTW if you all read your contracts with your ISP you are only paying for the bandwidth from you to their server in Thailand only.

I got a HP Pavilion the other day with original win8 installed but only 8gb of ram as that is all I needed for the app I am running
Intel core i7-4500 64bit 2400 ghz 700gb drive DVD onboard, ethernet onboard plus the other things you asked about
At IT City in BKK 32,000

That confuses me as the pictures show green lipped mussels, not the normal black new zealand mussel or are you referring to the fact green lipped mussels are grown locally?

A pleasant waitress told me they cannot check members names because they haven't got wifi!!!!!
Say what? no wifi!
-
while I pay for 4 Mbps
your info helps me a lot ot accept an offer to get my condo connected to VDSL coming from an optic fiber cable box in the basement
You like all of us pay for bandwidth from our property to the ISP server only normally in Bangkok! Not internationally at all. Read your contract again please.
-
http://testmy.net and select a server, a real java test not a fake flash cache test
I concur with harryseaman 3bb and tot fiber is the bees knees for international traffic.

live and free on XBMC .. well live later today our time, now the intro's on the UK stage etc ..
-
Heck, right in major stores like BananaIT, ITCity, etc., they will load Windows on your computer for Bt500 but it's usually an evaluation copy which will just cause you grief later on.
Brought a brand new HP i7 notebook from IT city the other day, they installed windows 8 and gave me the genuine Win 8 install disks with it to, extra cost THB 2,500 - peace of mind = priceless.

I use a synology DS713+ NAS here on my tot modem/router on LAN and wifi and it works well.

Sorry to hear that, p2p-streams works very very well on tot fiber and true docsis lines, but as they mileage may vary. I am assuming you have acestreams installed on your xbmc device?
-
Could you please explain what is the advantage of using XBMC, than using the free apps. from Google play store.
See http://xbmc.org/about/ and draw your own conclusions ..

Question: What do you recommend for live sports? For example how did you watch the F1 in HD? I have tried likes of Sports Devil and MashUp but quality of sports video isn't as good as your news links?
Over 66 free (no need to subscribe to ntv) sports channels under P2P-streams in the xbmchub add-on installer sky, bt, eurosport, etc ..

For movies you may want to look at installing 'couch potato' on your computer and for TV series the 'sickbeard' replacement that runs in XBMC called TVTumbler..
Getting CNBC Asia TV
in Audio Visual AV

There is always XBMC and it is free ..
