I have an I-Mobile IQ 6.3 mobile phone, running Android 4.3 software, kernal version 3.4.0 and build No. V22. Yesterday I was informed that there was an update to the phones software so carried out the update download. Since this time I now get a message on screen stating:-
Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
Each time I attempt to call SOME telephone numbers (probably only those in my contacts list - cannot confirm), pressing the OK icon in the message window the message disappears and the number rings out normally. I do not know what other programs, apps, functions etc. this whatever that has stopped may be affecting.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem and return everything on the phone to how it once was? Do not want to change to Manufactures default. THANKS!

The buses to Pattaya from Bangkok depart from either Ekamai on Suhukamvit Road or Mo Chit in the North of the city Not from the Southern Bus Station, which services the South of the Country. Allow 2.5 hours from Ekamai slightly quicker from Mo Chit.

Thought I would share this. Just purchased a Bangkok to Paris return flight for 316 Pounds Sterling (still available 11.40hrs 13th Jan). I am returning to Thailand after a very short stay but if one searches on this site luck may fall your way. It is on Transaero Airlines and found on the airtickets24 website. For me, I have a 16 hour layover in Moscow on the outward portion, which does not fill me with joy but I thought I would find something to do, after all it is 200 Pounds cheaper than the next price found and I do have time and a laptop. Two and half hours layover on the return.
Found this site by accident, never heard of it before, and subsequently found Transaero airlines which I had never heard of also. Has anyone any info on this airline?.I know it has supposed to have won awards for the most improved airline recently!

Thanks again BB1950. I have in fact done this previously and all is OK. The opening page before was a Google UK " for Firefox" and slightly different but like I have said there is no longer a URL for this. Never mind though, if it is not possible to obtain this page then the present Google UK does the same job.....nearly!
-
Thanks everyone. BTW I only removed and reinstalled Gmail Notifier not Firefox and I never did have the Google Toolbar. I just used the Google UK for Firefox start page. Anyway you guys have explained that Google for the great part is now no longer supporting Firefox or v.v., for more and more of its apps. I am now more informed. Particular thanks to BB1950.

Well how did you know Technologybytes? That is exactly where we got stopped; right in the middle, on the road approaching the Lions, of town. A road block with about 5 police. They waved me down and told me Cambodia does not allow tinted windows in vehicles and to hand over my driving license. I gave them the international but no actual Thai license. The officer responded by saying this is Xmas and I should give him something. 5USD in his hand, a nod to the senior officer and we were waved on. In the meantime every car that passed had tinted windows and the Senior officer took a photo of our car from the front.
New Years eve we drove to the beach area and parked at the side of the road. My wife noticed a police officer sitting on a chair across the road from us. We found out they were stationed all over the place for that particular evening. Anyway I gestured to him if it was OK to park there as it was on a bend in the road. He walked over said OK now give me some money. I was prepared to give him 1USD but I could not get out of the car as the kirbstone was too high to open the door. I drove off and found somewhere else to park.
I was happy we got stopped this time because I now know the score and am less concerned about being stopped on another visit.

Hi guys! What has happened to Firefox recently? I cannot get Firefox to open up on my regular Google for Firefox page and there appears to be no URL for it anymore! I have been through ¨options¨ etc.to change page details but to no avail. Also my Gmail Notifier has disappeared. .I have deleted all traces of it and re-installed and although an icon appears on the desktop there is nothing on the toolbar etc.. It just does not work anymore.
I suspect Google is attempting to get people to switch to Chrome. Would this be correct? Or is there another reason?
Please administrators would you keep this topic here and remove it from the sub topic Mobile Internet and Devices. I made an error

Thanks to all who responded.
Phuketrichard, am I right in thinking that it is only the Koh Kong border that issues these plastic number plates? And I guess it is not a problem exiting via another border crossing if you have not been given back the Thai customs form by the Cambodians to hand in at the Thai side? Thai customs presumably ask for this form?

As a point of interest, flying out of Don Muang on an international flight the office to obtain a reentry visa is AFTER passport control. Happened to me a few weeks ago. Approached the passport control desk and told the officer my predicament and handed over my passport. Was told no problem you will get stamped out and the office 20 meters behind the booth will issue the reentry. I questioned this as I did not want to get stamped out before requiring the reentry visa, but all was above board and the reentry was issued as was told with no additional sum added to the cost of the reentry itself.

Here is an up to date account of a return drive to Sihanoukville with details of the comings and goings at Had Lek/Koh Kong border crossing.
Arrive at Had Lek border and park before the control barrier. Walk to the building on the right hand side and at window number 1 or 2 hand over the passport of the vehicle owner, who was present in my case, and the blue car registration book. If the vehicle owner is not present and travelling with the vehicle then seek advice from elsewhere as to what docs are required. The officer will give you two identical and completed forms after filling in a ledger that the vehicle owner will have to sign.
Cross the road and present both these forms at the Customs window. They will keep one copy but in return give you another different but completed export form together with a small card to be given to the soldier before driving the vehicle out of Thailand.
Go to the passport control window which is 20 meters back from the customs window and obtain your exit stamp. Remember to obtain your re-entry stamp at your local Immigration office before you travel.
Return to your vehicle and drive through the barrier which will be opened for you by showing your customs papers. 30 meters on give the small card to the soldier and progress 50 meters to the Cambodian border control barrier.
Park at side of road before barrier. Walk through to the Entry window in the building block up a few steps and on the left hand side. IGNORE THE QUARANTINE DESK. This is a scam and you do not require to pay for any sort of certificate stating your temperature or what have you is good. They will charge you for this. Present your passport with E-visa (37USD online from Embassy) photocopy and they will return it with an entry/exit card for you to fill-in. On completion hand back the passport and card and they will stamp you into Cambodia. NB. The next window along allows you to purchase a visa there at the border which I heard people say was 1500Baht. Thais can get stamped in without a visa but for 15 days (I believe) only. It is supposed to be free but claim 200Baht for a first entry which is lowered to 100Baht on subsequent entries. I fought a little about it being free but ended up handing over 100Baht although it was my wife’s first entry. They accepted this and stamped my wife in.
Cross the road to the middle hut and hand over the remaining form of the two that was given to you by the first window on the Thai side. NOT THE LAST CUSTOMS FORM. They keep this and enter the details into a log. They then ask for 100Baht for every day the vehicle will be in Cambodia. I was aware of this scam but had decided to pay anyway. As luck would have it I paid 1000Baht for a twelve day stay. On receipt of the cash they give you a plastic number plate to put on the inside of the windscreen. NB. I have been told they inform you that you are only able to drive in the Koh Kong Province. This does not take you as far as Sihanoukville. No-one told us this information at the border but seeing that this is the only crossing that allows vehicles and issues plastic number plates (other crossings allow vehicles but do not issue number plates, I believe. Please check yourselves) I decided to remove the number plate from the windscreen at the Province border. Return to vehicle and drive through to Cambodia. Not before giving 100Baht to the barrier keeper (police). I did say no at first but after sitting there with the barrier firmly shut for twenty minutes decided to pay. Barrier opened and away we went.
Apart from bits of money changing hands the whole process was very straight forward.
A couple of kilometers or so further on there is some sort of control with a hut well off to the right. Stop here if you want. We did and walked to the hut. We asked what they required and they said passports. They were not interested and did not look at the presented passports. We drove on to the toll booth at the entrance to the bridge and paid 49Baht (5800 Rial).
First right after the bridge takes you to the Asia Hotel, or across the road the Koh Kong Bay Hotel where we stayed the night. Good room overlooking the wide estuary, v. good wifi, swimming pool, waters edge bar and separate restaurant, plus, plus. We can recommend but search internet for best price. Next door is the French restaurant Cafe Laurent, or a few hundred meters further along are two Western friendly bar/restaurants.
Next day carried on to Sihanoukville. The number 48 road was in excellent condition except for the last 30 kilometers in parts before it meets the No. 4 Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville road. They are regrading and resurfacing so there are sections along this stretch that are like a ploughed field in small lengths (say 10 x 200meters). This will be completed soon as work is progressing. The whole number 48 road has been patched, and although to a good standard, I wonder if potholes will once again be prevalent? This No.48 sees very little traffic.
Turning right onto the No.4 just after Sre Anbel (Koh Kong Province border; I removed the plastic number plate) will find an excellent road but considerably more traffic all the way into Sihanoukville. Although only two lanes it is a toll road and 45 minutes or so into the No.4 drive you will encounter a toll booth. Fee, 2800 Rial or just under 75 cents US.
Border to Sihanoukville 4 to 4.5 hours and approx. 235 km. We took 4 hours.
We enjoyed Sihanoukville and Koh Kong (and Phnom Penh side trip by bus) and regret listening to other stories for so long. Can report on these places if requested including our police stop!
On return at border. Parked up. Effected passport control (exit stamp) including handing over a second copy of the E-visa, handed the plastic number plate back to same hut that it had come from and was returned the Thai customs form. Drove to Thai border and parked. Gave custom form at Custom window and received small card, crossed road to window 1 or 2 and had other form checked out (signature in ledger) which was handed back to us. Moved window in same building to effect passport control (entry stamp). Returned to vehicle and drove into Thailand, firstly giving the barrier custodial the customs form and small card. Smooth procedure with no hassles or money changing hands at either end!
Hope this was useful.

Firstly, I have attempted to download the driver update, Thedemon, unsuccessfully at the moment, but will persevere by trying other sites. The normal way by pressing update driver under Network Adapters just tells me I have the latest.I will not be able to report back once installed as I will have to wait until the travel bug hits once more and try hotel wifi.
Secondly, Lostinissan, it wont hurt trying an external adapter both in the usb slot and then on the end of a length of cable. I will buy one and give it a go. While in France, my house has very thick walls and the only way a 3G Aicard modem works is by using a 3 meter long usb cable. Not an iota of a signal by directly attaching to the laptop. This method must increase the signal reception.
Kindest regards to all.

Slipperylobster, my home system has been sorted now by TOT at their server. I cannot do anything about the routers used by hotels, where the main problem exists as I am far from home, and by using the diagnostics, or right clicking icon told me there was no IP address, but thanks anyway.
PS. This reply may also have been delayed through no fault of my own.

Apologies Thedemon,
This is what I replied to your posted question but looking below at the mail I received from the TV Postmaster the forum did not receive it. I was not ignoring you! Incidentally I am without proper TOT internet as their server is down, another issue all together. I am using a tethered connection on a different system.

Immigration here at Maptaphut, Rayong requires a letter from the Embassy only if you obtained the new passport whilst in Thailand. No letter required if you journeyed outside the Kingdom and obtained a new passport whilst out of Thailand. This scenario involves showing the new and old passport that has your visa and re entry stamps to immigration on entry at the Thai border. They will place an entry stamp in the new passport with a validity date as stated in your visa. It is left to you to visit your local immigration office with both passports where they will transfer the visa. It may be necessary to inform your local office that you obtained the new passport outside the country as they sometimes only assume people obtain them whilst staying in the Kingdom.
Did this only four weeks ago!

Thanks Thedemon. Tried what you suggested but the three adapters, wireless LAN card, ethernet controller and virtual wifi miniport adapter, under the heading of network adapters, all had the current up to date drivers. Any other tips or ideas please?

I have just been traveling extensively and on attempting to hook up to hotel wifi systems I found on occasions that it was not possible. It happened once in the UK, returning home to Thailand I could not connect to my home wifi, OK in Malaysia but not in Bali. All within the space of three weeks. The laptop was connecting but I was getting a message that read something like Windows does not recognise Network or Server. Going through the diagnostics I found the problem noted as being no IP Address. This, even on my home TOT system that I have never had a problem with before. Why should this be happening? There was never a problem connecting with my Android mobile, except that in Tethering mode, at each place the laptop could not connect fully, it also could not tether to my mobile. At other places tethering worked just fine. At home, TOT sorted the problem without visiting; presumably resetting something their end.
I run Windows 7 as the OS on my laptop but understand I can bypass this somehow to connect to wifi! Could somebody explain how please.

With the current great reclining seat debate another question rears its head. Is there any recourse for compensation when there is a fault with the entertainment system built into the back of seats? Very often the sound does not work, even with the changing of headphones, and occasionally the visual monitor remains inactive. Like with the reclining seat, which I never recline in flight, one is paying for this facility!

Thanks RichCor. Apologies for lack of paragraphs which is not usual for me. I wrote the post whilst watching the television so I guess I was not concentrating.

Has anyone experienced similar? I have been a TV member since 2008; originally I registered with a Loxinfo email address but many years ago changed the registered address to my current gmail. All has been fine with my postings and receiving replies and the newsletter has just kept on arriving. That is until the 9th August. I received my last newsletter on the 8th Aug. and assumed TV were taking a Mothers Day vacation for a while. Alas no vacation. I checked my Profile and Settings and found that TV had reverted to the ancient Loxinfo email address for some reason. I changed it back to the current which blocked my account with a note stating Group validating. During this process TV sent an email with a link to press. I did inform Support that I had not received this, but actually did. Took longer to arrive than anticipated. So this proves that Auto TV and my email do communicate. I have had contact with TV Support and explained the situation. They have been as useful as a chocolate teapot. I still am not receiving newsletters even though registering again for these. TV Support informed me that my email address for these newsletters was in any case my current gmail. Newsletters are not going to my Trash nor is there any firewall blocking them. I was also not trying to change my email address, I had just found that TV had reverted to the old without any communication from me. During the period from the 8th August I have not downloaded any new programs nor altered any settings. Just turn on as per normal, but this time, no TV. Any ideas! TV Support just puts the blame on my computer!

I am reading the article about enforcing duty free limits on overseas purchases today, Sunday 6th July. This should be the most up to date report as as far as I know this is the most recent post. However on previous days there have been articles dismissing this information. What is correct please?

One ac running in bedroom for 12 hrs per day increases my elec bill by roughly 1000 Baht per month. 20 degree setting.

Thanks to everyone; there certainly is a knowledge base out there! Keep the responses coming if you wish as they are interesting and useful. Gypsy has and will continue to make a record of your responses and will speak with Donovan, who incidentally has no knowledge about this post. I am helping Gypsy Dave in enticing his colleague and soul mate over for a visit. We are not getting any younger!

Sincere apologies. I was sure I was correct otherwise I would not have, nor have I ever, replied to posts with assumed knowledge. This is a new one on me.
