  1. I've lusted over a Jag V12 engine for a long time. On a sandy bottom they make great boat anchors! :D

I hear a chevvy does just fine too if you can beat the rust,. :whistling:

At a fraction of the cost.

Check out how rusting occurs underwater - i.e. in a low oxygen environment.as a mostly cast iron engine it would make a far more reliable anchor........under the sea as on land it proves more reliable than the Jag!

But does it have the walnut panelling

  2. It is up to the OP to post as he sees fit. As it is he has posted something which is nice to browse through once or twice....a coffee table book....but of little lasting value. If the poster wishes to add more information...ie what it is and source it changes from that to a world class historical resource.

I think he may have that at home now. Maybe he doesn't want others to have it.

  3. Thai's need a visa to go into Cambodia unless they are just going to the duty free shops or the casinos in no man's land.

I also feel Thai Visa is over moderated, not under.

And thirdly I think the OP is trolling

    And possibly resurected.

  4. A study of the OPs post history is interesting as he frequently runs down posters as idiots.

He also objects to the Cambodian Border police requiring a visa for his thai girlfriend despite http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/evisa/ a visa being required.

He can be quite abusive at times. His forum may be interesting.

My post referred to my girlfriend not being allowed into Cambodia as the police officer pointed out.. "NO THAI PEOPLE IN CAMBODIA"

As far as I am aware, thai people do not need a visa for Cambodia. If you are going to read my history... read it, don't glance over it and respond incorrectly.

I also posted a response to the average wage for thais topic, and stayed on topic quoting that my gf only earned 8300 per month despite holding a very good bunch of university degrees, only to have replies about my girlfriend and her family's intentions towards me, and that they insinuating that she was maybe a prostitute and a liar.

    IS THIS RIGHT????

    As said go to http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/evisa/

  5. A meeting of the boffins? Sounds good to me! : )

May I suggest a change of venue - The Red Lion. I am sure the (sorely missed) "KevinHunt" would welcome you all with open arms. Perhaps the mods could wear some funky little clip on lapel badge so as to easily identify themselves?

    Cheers,

    Pikey.

    No good....Remember NO RIFF RAFF

    Quoted from http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/evisa/

It is true that a fee exemption MAY be give to thais. The same thing applies in Laos where a Thai citizen gets a visa free.

Application and photos still need to be done. You were not going to the casio but ito Cambodiaso you were not correct. She had no visa hence could not enter.

  7. Really "pushy" to the air waitress so the Monk(s) get the Food, Drink ect at first

One hopes that these flights are in the morning - I would be rather surprised to see 'real' monks eating in the afternoon/evening.

It was the 6pm flight from HK to Bkk.

Must have been before noon in some time zone.

  8. THe Jag V12 was a "third world" engine

The MK VII I had in my twenties was not thirld world but I guess the UK and America can be considered third world now for the newer ones.

THe mark VII had the inline 6 which was conceived before WW2.the V12 was basically the same engine and was completely incapable of coping with the driving conditions of the late 20th century.

How can a V12 be the same as a straight six ?

The V12 was designed in the 50's and the production V12 had single over head cams where the 6 had double overhead cams.

As for servicing you are right, the SU's were a pain and tappet adjustment was a major job.

The shims were not so bad to adjust the tappets if you made one of the tools shown in the manual...without it you were in big trouble. The SUs though were another story.

The MK VII was completely incapable of copping with the fuel cost conditions of the late 20th century. But it gave me some great memories.

  10. Bangok used to have great soul food. I forget the name of the bar that used to be on lower sukemvit....was actually a small single story house. Used to have great food. I ate there a lot in my earlier time here. It hade a couple of georgeous barmaids too.

  11. The vehicle I refer to with the 350 chev conversion is located in Papua New Guinea where it has been rebuilt from a wreck to very good condition.

Engine, imagine being in a very third world country and have the only V12 in the country with a big hole in the block. The transplant was a logical decision. Cannot remember the exact details but horse power is similar and the 350 is about 75-100kg lighter. May not be orig but it is a driver and reliable apart from the prince of darkness.

Sacrilege it may be but it has been saved.:D

45 years ago I had to wait 3 months for a rotor button for my Renault Floride to arrive in Moresby. I can understand the owner falling into temptation. His sins may be forgiven.

  12. This should be good.

For those of you who have been paying attention, Naam's bilingual gardener has gone from being bilingual to trilingual and even multilingual in a few months. I have to admit though, that I've so far failed completely to understand wht the he** this has to do with the level of expensiveness on a BMW (with references to Mr.Braggards willingness to hand out "certificates for having no clue").

Give it another month and I bet you he'll be fluent in Swahili and reciting Nubian poetry in Kenzi-Dongolawi.

You have failed to understand completely....?

Of course you have since it will take a while longer before you will understand the splendid kind of humor of Naam.

Enough said for me untill he shows up again, serving you what you deserve, since he's abroad as far as I recall, enjoying his life with his Lady.

    LaoPo

    Can't he afford roaming internet?

  13. I might add that my withdrawal of full support for CMU has been due to the effect non or iregularly attending students have on courses which has been at least condoned by the administration despite the quality of the teachers.. If this is a sign of more stringent application of study demands to its potential stucents I would look on this change possitively.

The lack of communication and support to students and potential students is not what I would expect of an organization like CMU which did provide quality tuition.

I notice the website has had many changes lately and would advise people to read the terms carefully as they are very one sided.
