  1. I bought a month ago vitamin D3 (25 mcg) in Amsterdam: 100 tablets for 9.90 Euro

If Ignis paid 460 Baht - then taking into account always high Thai import tax - this is not too much.

But...who can give us reliable advice about safe daily exposure to sunlight in Thailand and ...how many minutes, which time of the day and how much skin exposed?

  2. Spaniel; you are missing the best trick. If you are married to a Thai National you can accompany her to the Thai immigration channel and you will pass through without any problems. Just another little bonus of marrying a Thai girl.

My EU passport does not make any mention if I am married to a Thai or not...My wife's Thai passport has no mention either...because we should bring a copy of our Thai marriage certificate?

  3. I have 3BB with VDSL which in theory has a download speed of up to 30 Mb/s and upload up to 3 Mb

    - the very high speeds are connecting to servers in Thailand

    - when downloading from servers in Germany or USA the average download is 10 Mb/s...except the evenings (from 6 p.m) of Friday, Saturday and Sunday when it becomes as slow as average 700 Kb/s : I now download only large files during the morning of the working days.

3)..... You should already know of a Muslim name you want to take so it should be SOMENAME Bin Abdullah. Insist they add this name in the letter.....

My comment : Islam does not require you destroy your cultural identity by taking an Arab name.

The two Muslim converts who were elected in the US Congress kept the name given to them at birth :

    Keith Ellison

    Andre Carson

  5. Sorry my previous post did not print out lhat my question was about a DVD player

A 76 year old friend asks me to buy a "region free" DVD player with a USB port able to play AVI, MP4 and MKV

The related information in the TV forums is old.

I would prefer DVD player with Thai brand name

    Can anybody give updated advise?

  6. thanks for the helpful suggestions / yes I still have a valid multiple re-entry visa in the old passport

I assume you actually mean "valid multiple re-entry permit". You'll need to enter the number of this permit in the "Visa No." boxes on the TM6 arrival card you'll be handed during your return flight, and not your latest extension of stay number.

Yes you are right : I should have written "re-entry permit" - thanks again

  7. I am holder of EU passport containing extension of Non Imm "O" visa.

End of October I will return to Thailand with a new passport issued by the city hall where I live.

Which passport details should I mention on the arrival card : the old (cancelled) one with the Thai Non Imm "O" extension, but still having a few empty pages... or the new blank passport ?

I am concerned that seeing the new blank passport I will from get Immigration at arrival an entry stamp for only one month which is given to EU tourists.

However the police now have launched massive dragnet to find this man throughout the entire island, he said.
He said investigation would be back to square one with focus now on three groups, namely local Thai people on the island, migrant workers, and tourists.
But he said migrant workers is the most suspected group, particularly the Rohinya migrants, judging from the gruesome nature of the killing.

Yes during the time of Roman Emperor Nero the Christians - cannibals - were always the most suspected group and later on during the Middle Ages the Jews became obvious suspects....Every period in time has its "ideal" cruel suspects....and who were the suspects of the horrible rape and murder on Vietnamese boat people around 1980?

Every people on earth have their own number of terrible criminals.

  9. Ukraine has wasted its future the last 20 years...

But let us not forget the most important problem :

With the annexation of Crimea it is very obvious that Russia has thrown the Budapest Memorandums out of the window ...the last time borders of Europe were changed this way was with the annexation of the Sudetenland by Hitler who thought nobody would stop him to go further. (Hitler also wanted to be the "protector" of all German speakers ...and Putin is showing the same inclination to all Russian speakers)

On December 5, 1994 the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Britain and the United States signed a memorandum to remove nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
They all signed six agreements for Ukraine of which the first was :
    1. The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.

The European leaders know their history and therefore ignoring what Russia is doing in Ukraine cannot be an option.
