  1. Well, more than ten years ago one of them got "accidented" by the Red Bull grandkid who never saw the slammer and did a runner since. So raiding a house for political reasons is the lesser headache - me thinks. The troughs too small or any of the other three contestants lost his patience for the top job? The future will tell. Interesting is that they start hunting down themselves now ????
  2. Well, 15 minutes of fame for yet another family member before they realize, that Pheu Thai went down the drain weeks ago when they shortchanged their voter base big time. But time will tell, let "il padrino" get out of hospitalized jail to mix the cards and Srettha, well, he might start looking for a nice comfy retirement cushion - financially he seems to do OK ????
  3. Whoa, never heard of a PM to welcome unknown zero-dollar tourists - the Chinese though could not give a toss about it - unless it was a freebie along the lines somewhere ........ They must be more than desperate ..... or just keep a smoke screen up to hide something else ????
  4. "... found the answer ...... about the ...... funding" If the state borrows from a state-owned bank, is not regarded as public debt. That boomerang will hit back big big time - last time it was 25 years ago; history repeating itself which sent 56 out of 57 finance companies owned by commercial banks ....... down the toilet!
  5. I speak German fluently and the phonetics for the Russian "нет" reads - applying German phonetics - as "Njyet". Leaving the "j" out is not a game changer though ...... согласованный?
  6. Too good to be true - a Thai soap opera with a Chinese booster - always provided this story is true in the first place. Thailand's slice of the Chinese tourism case is the cheap zero-dollar part; 10 million (0.007%) among 1'425 million Chinese, really? Yes, not all of those 1.4+ billion will travel but still ....... Thailand has to recompose its tourism industry from scratch; teach languages at school, do not paint everything non-Thai as alien, dirty, and negative, stop with this racism for which Thailand meanwhile is known for. Stop dual pricing, changing visa regulations to absurdity and, for longer-staying guests, facilitate the stay without all that bureaucratic nonsense the immigration is meanwhile well-known for. Do not send people away, if a visa extension is signed in non-blue ink or if photocopied are on both sides of a page. The Chinese are hordes of monstrous avalanche characters, rude, loud, impolite and selfish. This does not work with the Thais; focus on quality rather than quantity as you cannot handle quantity. Quality was a money spinner 30 years ago - back to the roots!
  7. Well, Joe later on was told, that Thailand is a country on planet earth and Srettha is the CEO of that political circus performing on the other side of the planet ...
  8. If the legal system does not put this monster down, there is always hope that it gets sorted internally within the walls of the Bangkok Hilton!
  9. Now this soap opera has been going on for at least 30+ years. Toggling with the "Kra" canal in tandem ........ If you want to compete with Singapore by shortening the Far East-West sea link, then talk to the Chinese. No other nation is able to stem such projects all the while read the fine print. And, as Laos proved with its railway to absolutely no benefit of Laos except the few thousands who now can cross the land like greased lightning - some of the decision-makers walked away with a pension scheme to dream of ....... but that does not need extra training for the Thai government ..........
  10. Well, if she is a resident, tenant or owner in said condominium, then I would take it the full nine yards to court - otherwise pay up and understand, that you've misused private parking of other people!
  11. So the Germans remained firm with their "Njyet" on supplying German engines to China - good so. I just wonder now, to what extend Navy Chief Adm Choengchai Chomchoengpaet will benefit of the whole joke. Thailand and submarines - what an unbelievably good flop. Unless the commissioning of the deal is excellent ......... as the French say "on vera" ????
  12. The locals do not like any competition when it comes to rip-offs ......... but you have to give it to the Chinese, they are just smarter than the divine Khon Thai with products and a service level which is as much over-priced as it is under-performing.
  13. 5 October is the next hurdle or then, two months later on 5 December - Xmas at home?
  14. Thank you for your input - I am aware of the DBD's e-service shown here below: https://ebiz.dbd.go.th/eservice-web/ https://ebiz.dbd.go.th/eservice-web/login.xhtml Back to Square One ???? regretfully!
  15. Remember the days when a flight from Rangoon to Bangkok would take 90 minutes and then you queued 120 minutes at Don Meuang International Airport some 30 years back? Well, I am pleased to report that we're back in the queueing business again; regretfully those trumpeting 20 minutes waiting time are never seen when that avalanche of A380 etc. are all coming in at the same time. Somchai, challenged with any non-Thai language, flips slightly lost - through passport giving me the impression, that not all immigration officers really know what the hell he is doing.
  16. Well, well, what do you know! "Boost Indian tourism in Thailand" should read "boost Indian tourism in Thailand in general". Thailand's tourism industry was second to none 35 years ago, when "Amazing Thailand" was coined. Thailand lived up to its promise, tourists came, enjoyed, paid and left. On the way out they took their newly-discovered love for Thai food along which put Thai cuisine firmly on the map of the planet. Today, the tourism is a disaster of many-tier-pricing, English is on the way out, people became as unfriendly as their greed increased; it is rip-off and taking visitors for a ride on the Thai tourism-merry-go-round. Prices went up proportionally to the service going down and today the industry has to move around many more tourists for less money in the bank. The answer is not free visas for Kazakhstan (although I am happy for all those Kazakhstani who were waiting in the wings for this privilege). Increase the present visa-free duration from 30 - 45 days, offload 90% of your bureaucracy with TM1 to TM100, allow tourists to open bank accounts (as in the past, when it was no problem) as they do not want to roam the land with tons of cash, get all those ghost services lurching around airports and tourist sites away, clean up your act and start (again) to provide "service with a smile". Do NEVER EVER forget, that the tourist has the choice and Thailand has to adjust to that as well; it is not that the tourist adjusts to Thailand for a temporary stay of a few weeks.
  17. What does the Public Health Minister chat with Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sitthipun after holding a talk on February 19? Back then Anutin was not Interior Minister and possibly Saksayam Chidchob might be taken into the discussion as Transport Minister? Whatever, this time they can only blame themselves and not the dirty farang!
  18. Well, my blood pressure has been fluctuating on a daily basis ever since I put foot onto this planet ????
  19. Seventeen years ago it was the venue for kicking the Thai PMs throne .........
  20. As long as I see diesel cars in parking lots of shopping centres and supermarkets with running engines - empty of course as the owners and their passengers are roaming the air conditioned temples of consummation ........ Make public transport free of charge, add one or two Baht on benzine and keep the diesel price where it was lately - my unimportant grain of salt!
