i remember well about 8 or so years ago making the mistake of sitting down in a crowded with locals nothing special bar in sin and order a draft beer...it was about 6 oz if that and if i recall it was $14 usd.....i left the equivalent of 15 or so and the waiter told me it was not enough tip....i think if you went to a bar with gals and wanted to buy them a drink you might have to take a mortgage...singapore is indeed clean and orderly but no thanks...i will take thailand every day in every way....i do have some good sin memories from about 30+ years ago before it became sterllized and over the top expensive...zero desire to return now

I will use the 60 day on arrival with two extensions at immigration and one cambodia trip as the easiest way i have found to get 180 days Yes a bit of hassle to have to leave the country but realistically it is not all that bad....do one of the van companies ( i used champion on soi 13/2) that pick you up and drive you to camboida border where you walk across and then re enter thailand...they handle it all for 3500 tbh...leave abut 5 am...about 4 hours there with a pit stop...maybe 2 hours max around border...4 hours back with a lunch stop and back in pattaya by 3 pm....not all that bad. Of course u still have to go to immigration at end of first and second 60 days to extend 30 days.. No $$ in bank required and pretty easy to do...i used to do it with 60 day tourist visa but then you had to leave after 90 days and go to a thai consulate somwhere like vientiane and spend a couple of nights waiting for processing...

you an nearly always find a bar in pattaya that is cheaper than most...you can also find a bar that is more expensive than most....overall 80 baht or a 2 for 120 baht before 8 pm is a pretty good deal for soi buahkaow especially if a/c and assuming the gals don't nag the piss out of you to buy them drinks.. lots of places in usa and around the world now where a beer will be $7-9 plus expected tip for something like a bud draft...and no pretty gal is likely to tell you how powerful and handsome you are...go have a few beers in a singapore bar and be happy you can have a 60-80 baht beer anywhere anymore.
