  1. The iPhone has fantastic battery life if you use it only as a phone. Easily 5 days plus. But if you start surfing the web and checking emails, it drops really fast, down to half that.

    Yeah

Was using my iphone heavily before but now i just use it to text and call , now is the 3rd day since i last charged and the batt is still at 50%

  2. Hi

What about sim card? can you put it in and see contact now? also the 3G there is coming, can you put all apps on it you want or do you still have to jailbreak it?

but for the moment i still like my Omnia a lot, better than the first Iphone i had.

the official released iphone by True u dont have to jailbreak it to put in the apps just buy them off itunes or just get the free apps.

this should help u understand more.

Jailbreak - jailbreaking is a process that allows root access to your device. The process itself is extremely easy and can be performed in a couple of different ways. Once the process is complete, two additional icons will appear on the iPhone's home screen: Installer and Cydia. These are the applications that install all others, and gives you access to everything the jailbreaking community has to offer.

Unlocking - Unlocking is an entirely different process from jailbreaking, however it does require that your iPhone is jailbroken. The result of unlocking is allowing your iPhone to operate on a carrier other than the one it is locked to. In the U.S., the iPhone is locked to AT&T. If you unlocked the iPhone in the U.S, you would most likely choose to have it operate with T-Mobile.

  3. Just upgraded to 2.2fw ever since the cellular signal has gone haywire any1 else having this prob?

No problem here, but I have a factory unlocked phone from Hong Kong. 2.2 apparently breaks the "unofficially unlocked phones. Could that be your case?

Mine is factory unlock HK model only jailbroken

Signal is weak even in my 6th story condo or mayb the problem is with the True network?

Yah its true. We have 2 cell phones here in our condo using True(can't get a signal in most of the rooms), with our DTAC and AIS phones we rarely have a problem picking up a signal.

....and it's True that will be soon offering the iPhone in Thailand.

If its cheap then it should be ok...then u can just unlock it and use AIS when the dev team releases the unlock in afew days... lol

  4. I never had an Iphone but my Nokia has a much stronger signal than my friend's Iphone. Both using AIS and standing in the same spot.

I would NEVER buy something that needed hacked before I could use it.

actually a stock iphone is pretty boring but Jailbreak makes the iphone really interesting

Was actually looking at the new BB Storm but the reviews on it is really really bad

I agree that used to be the case, but now there is the Applications Store and there are thousands (literally) of interesting and useful applications which you can download. My iphone is jailbroken, but the only non-standard application I use is Winterboard. Of course, if you are into hacking then there is much fun to be have with a jailbroken phone, but for the average user, like people who reasonably remark "I would NEVER buy something that needed hacked before I could use it", then you can personalise and add functionality to your iphone whithout having to hack it.

Yeah exactly hacking is the best part of the iphones

  6. Just to de-bunk some myths.

I dropped my iPhone in water a few months back.

They had to replace the battery and a logic board it cost me B5,000 and I had the phone back within a week.

Of course it wasn't done under warranty but then again dropping your phone in water is not covered anywhere in the world.

    Cheers

They have every part u need , i seen a shop in MBK named iDoctor and has every part of the iphone in stock

Thanks! I need to fix my iphones speakers... Ive dropped it like a hundred times and now theres a bit of a speaker problem.

If u find the ringing volume too soft even at max setting u can just grab a pin or needle to poke thru the speakers anti-dust paper. Volume will increase tremendously :o

  8. No point wasting your time anywhere in Siam on True. Doesn't work in the cafe, doesn't work properly anywhere in that area. End up having to go to Starbucks to log on to KSC - and this is 4-5x over the past 6-8 months.

For that matter, True in Emporium is usually quite bad as well, though it does work from time to time.

Oh - and by the way, Starbucks in Emporium Tower (not on the top floor), CentralWorld and Big C in Ekamai have sockets as well.

    Thanks

Now im just in search for a good provider

  9. The REAL iPhones are made and assembled and even shipped from China. Is it possible the knock offs are good copies? Has anyone tried one?
    Not worth it

China made phonea r junk i learned the hard way lol

I was using the knock off its total crap , im using the real iphone now

  10. Thanks dave

Really bad experience today at True cafe Siam Paragon 58MB file never completed downloading at all, getting wifi speeds at 19kb/s MAX,have to relog every 90mins as they say but kept getting disconnected every 20mins.

Looks like im gonna try another provider. Wasted 8hrs for nothing kept connecting 70% of the time than actually surfing :o
