  1. Yesterday, I went to the Fortune Tower in Ratchada, and it was big disappointment... the only (23" Samsung 2333SW Plus) unit available was from the display and even so more expensive. No Dell monitors of 23-24" at all.

Frustrating shopping experience + terrible traffic.

toptuan earlier mentioned that he bought his 23" Samsung 2333SW Plus at around 5,100 baht or so, but it was up country. It is rather strange that Bangkok prices are more expensive.

I bought the Samsung 2350 back in August, it has been very good. it is 16/9 which is ideal for watching movies etc. I can not understand why you would want to go to 1900 by 1200 in your case and if it is only to be used with a computer the hdmi is useless and a waste of money.

If you old graphics card will not allow you to play games at the native resolution (1920 * 1080) it will look like crap also. LCD monitors are really good at the native resolution but anything else is crap.

If your computer has a PCI express slot then upgrade your graphics card, you can get some under 2000 baht that perform quite well. If the computer only has a AGP slot it is really not worth spending money upgrading it.

My MB is ASUS A8N-SLi Premium (w/(2x1024) 2GB Corsair DDR 400MHz). It has dual PCI Express slots for SLI.

    VGA - ASUS eXtreme Nvidia GeForce N6600GT 128MB DDR3.

What card (under 2000 baht) would you recommend?

The N6600 you have now will be fine for windows and video, it may get a bit slow at native resolution depending on what games you play. Do you know if it is a SLI card if so you could add a gt9500 for around 2000 baht and link them together (SLI) and get the benefit of both of them working together.

at 2000baht u should be able to get a fairly new 2nd hand HD4770.

  2. That is the correct pricing even at the Sony store at MBK.

Fake china made PS3?? Gimme a break. So i guess the PS3's sold in Singapore are fake copies as well. And they go for about SGD$500 which is the price sold here at 12,000- 13,000THB

And PS3 games do not go more than 2000THB

Nio u should stop buying cheap yaabaa :)

  3. Now i might get the macbook. But will it be outdated in a matter of months? Cause Intel has released their new processes i7,i5 ,i3 and i was wondering should i just get a cheap laptop and wait till i see i7 and i5 cores in laptops..

A MacBook always outlasts Windows laptops.

  4. True service is horrible.

First time i signed up i got the internet running in 4 days.

Since i moved to a new apartment , it took them 3 weeks just to have it done when there is a phone line ready available.

Back in Singapore when i moved all i had to do was tell the ISP im moving and the next 24hrs the internet was moved to the new place.

Internet in Thailand is such a hassel.

Now i moved again to a permenant apartment True says that they cant move the internet connection after i waited for 3 weeks yet again. So i called up TOT and another ISP company that i want internet installed , they said OK no problem.

Im never going back to True again after all they problems they caused.

  5. I've had a 24" HP LCD for a few years now and have been looking for a 30" LCD to work alongside the HP (will keep the HP in "Portrait mode" for web and Outlook use)

Has anybody seen a 30" LCD monitor (not TV) for sale in any shops in Bangkok?

Just got a fancy new Gaming PC that can handle 2,560x1,600 resolution games

Wolife - I'd avoid getting a TV to act as your main monitor as the max res is limited 1900x1080 (1080p)

    there's the Apple 30" and Dell 30"

or if u would really like u could also order the Eizo from Japan :)

  6. That one does look nice... but i just can't help feel i want something bigger...

anything bigger than a 30" i would go for the Apple Cinema 30" or the Dell 3007

and depending what games ur playing ur prob looking at to get a ATi 5970 card :D so ur maybe looking at 120K baht to spend :)

  7. Woah :D 50%

Thanks for the information pal. :)

Can you type in thai or have the gf/wife to do it?

there is a local thai overclock forums which has hardware markets and u can EMS the items to them provided they wanna buy them.

i sell my used hardware there.

I just bought the Megalodon headset :D
