Insurance necessary for OA renewal?
ubonjoe replied to Gtto's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Somebody has given out some false info to you. You can apply for the 60 day extension with anytype of visa entry. Go to immigration with your wife (she has to be with you when you apply) with your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies your wife's house book registry and ID card. -
Re-entry Permits for Non-O Retirement Visa
ubonjoe replied to Danderman123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can get a re-entry permit for a extension of stay or a permit to stay from a visa. You cannot get one for a visa. A re-entry permit expires on the day the permit to stay it was issued for expires. -
New Immigration law/Insurance

There is a proposal a proposal approved in principle to require covid 19 insurance for a OA visa and extensions of the entry from one. -
Re-entry Permits for Non-O Retirement Visa
ubonjoe replied to Danderman123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A multiple entry non immigrant visa issued by a embassy is valid for one year from the date of issue and it allows unlimited entries until it expires. A Non-OA visa allows one year entries and multiple entry non immigrant visa allows 90 entries. A multiple entry tourist visa is valid for 6 months and allows unlimited 60 day entries. No extension of stay is a multiple entry unless you get a multiple re-entry permit. -
New Immigration law/Insurance

Probably another baseless rumor. Did you mix up the years in your post. One is this year and the other is next year. There is a 3.3 million baht ($100,000) requirement for covid 19 insurance to enter the country that has been required since last year. -
30 day under consideration stamp?
ubonjoe replied to raptorea's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can get a re-entry permit that would include the under consideration period. That would be an option if you think you would be back a day or 2 before report back date on it. If not you would have to start all over again by getting a new non-o visa while in the US. You would apply online for it and get stickerless visa sent to you by email. They you would apply for new extension of stay near the end of the 90 day entry from it.- 1 reply

Re-entry Permits for Non-O Retirement Visa
ubonjoe replied to Danderman123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can get single re-entry permit for a fee of 1000 baht. No need to get multiple re-entry permit for one trip. The re-entry permit will expire on the February 22nd. If you cannot return before that day you would have to start all over again by getting a new non-o visa and then a extension of stay. -
Work Permit Cancellation Process

The cancelation letter could be dated for a later date. There in no visa you can apply for. You could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your husband if you need more time. -
Work Permit Cancellation Process
ubonjoe replied to nicoloideon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will be changing the reason for your extension from working to one based upon being married to a Thai. You do not need a resignation letter. Your just need a letter from your employer requesting your extension be canceled so you can apply for extension based upon marriage to a Thai that allows you to have a work permit and work. -

That only happens if you do not qualify for a work permit after canceling your extension. -
Work Permit Cancellation Process

You do not have to cancel you work permit since your are married to a Thai and will be applying for a extension based upon marriage to a Thai on the same day your extension is canceled. -
Insurance necessary for OA renewal?
ubonjoe replied to Gtto's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your visas expiration date means nothing now since you are in the country already. Look at your arrival stamp to see what day your permit to stay ends. I think it may be November 10th. You could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife to get more time to have the money in the bank and then apply for the one year extension near the end of it. I suggest though you to immigration to ask about applying for the one year extension based upon marriage. There is no written rule that says you cannot apply for it. It only a policy set by some immigration offices. -

I forgot the not in my post. It corrected now. You do not need to cancel your work permit. You do not have to resign from your job to have your extension canceled. -
Insurance $100000 Covid-19 covering to get COE
ubonjoe replied to playboy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At this time you would still need the $100,000 covid 19 insurance to get a COE. It would have to valid to the date your re-entry permit expires. -
Work Permit Cancellation Process
ubonjoe replied to nicoloideon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You would not need to prove the work permit was canceled since you are allowed one if married to a Thai and you would be applying for a extension on that day. No need to be resigning from your job to cancel your current extension. You would need to provide a copy of your marriage certificate to the Department of Employment office where you applied for the work permit. -
It correct up to the point of applying for a certificate of entry for your wife. At this time her non-o visa would not be accepted since family members of person on a OA visa and those on non-o visa or extensions based upon retirement is not on the list for getting one. The list for those allowed is near the bottom of this page on the embassy website. https://thaiembdc.org/visas/
