Hmm!! I'm not sure i believe this? 6 months for petty theft, I think the police and shopkeeper would have got her to pay and kicked her out of Thailand. More to this story than what's stated, even if true.

I do not know whether it is true or not, but someone posted that cars in Thailand do not have Catalytic Converters fitted.
True on most makes!

Plus ban all diesel pickups and other diesel vehicles from the roads. Too much tax cust have been given so people could have cheap but polluting big pickups. Normal cars on benzine are less polluting.
Best thing would be if they really went on finding the cars that belch black smoke and go after them all the time not just sometimes.

Whilst you are in part correct, the issue is low quality diesel and gasoline and natural gasvand LPG sold in Thailand, Many if not all large HGV that smoke are actually running on very low quality Gas (NGV & LPG)
Benzine is just as bad as Diesel but canot be seen so clearly. The fuel sold in Thailand Is of a far lower purification compared to the USA and EU etc. This means poor combustion, blocked injectors etc creating smoke and unburnt fuel. Cataylitic convertors are not fitted to most vehicles and even fitted are completely damaged by the fuel sold here.
This creates poor burning of fuel etc then to compound this problem is nil servicing of vehicles and vehicle testing annually is a joke!
Many countries around the world ban the burning of rubbish etc and certainly crop burning!
So whilst banning smoking vehicles will create a short term remedy, the problem will quickly return. A good result would be to vastly improve the fuel quality sold in Thailand in the first instance!

In Thailand, you will be wasting your time complaining. Just giving yourself a headache!
Consider just getting a good paint shop to fix the issues and pay for it yourself, finished!
(I guessyou can of course send Ford the bill if you want to go on about it, but you will get nowhere!)
Find a different dealer for services.
Get on with enjoying your life, its only transport!

As said different trusts and boards have their own processes but if you are moving back to be a uk resident again it's free from the point you return. The difficulty your friend may have is proving this.
The only thing I can say is the nhs isn't geared up particularly well to charge patients so he might be lucky.
In terms of a doctor when I returned to the UK from Thailand I registered with a doctor and dentist within a week and had no problems.
She can fairly easily apply for extension of compassionate grounds, I have experience of this last year.
Your friend does not have to prove anything, the fact that he is back in the UK and states he is a UK resident is sufficient. Of course it makes it easier if he can quote a NI Number, a UK address whatever that is, and has registered with a Doctor (Although that is not an issue).
You need to remember these rules re access to the NHS were originally set up to stop non UK residents from obtaining free care and the fact is, you are never actually classed a a THAI resident unless you have obtained this status, most if not all normally have a one year only visa of some type.
Regardless I am sure some will argue these points, but I have never heard of someone being refused NHS treatment as long as he can do what I suggested above. (Unless you state you live in Thailand and are only back for treatment...Duh!)
Good.luck.

Polished concrete on a bathroom floor is a waste of time unless you seal it in which case it'll be slippy when wet. It'll also crack eventually. Tile it.
Polished concrete can look great in the right place. My pool surround wall is done that way.
Ha Ha! So its not good for a bathroom, becuse its slippy and cracks, yet its okay aroud the pool??

Wow!! So many comments!
You would think Thailand was filled with fit foreigners! Ha Ha!
Seriously though, having been at 105Kgs and now 72 kgs (which took 18 months) there is no trick to weight loss.
Diets etc are okay, but once finished the weight piles back on.
Its a lifestyle permanent change, small balanced meals and daily exercise and that is forever! Once you are achieving your weight loss, there is no reason why you cannot occasionally eat a doughnut etc, just not everyday.
Initially you will feel hungry, your brain is trained for that thought, but given time you can easily adjust. Remember though, fried or processed foods are BAD!
Forget bread, and sugar and fizzy drinks, learn to enjoy salads etc by dressing them with Olive oil and vinegars etc
Porridge is a great hunger killer!! A bowl of porridge, the better type (Blue can Quaker is best) with a good amount of frozen fruit mix. It's great for cholesterol control and is a slow fuel burner, because it fills your stomach you will not feel hungry, at least not so much!!
You need to remember hunger is controlled by your brain and STOMACH size! As you continue to eat more controlled food portions your stomach will actually shrink. Don't give up. You can do it, if you really want to!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this:
Can your bulb units handle the different heat
Are they sealed to prevent water ingress
Can your wiring and relays handle the extra amps required etc
I've known quite a few friends ruin the wiring looms etc by using higher ampage bulbs!
I would suggest you contact Ford and ask maximum type strength available first, or at least look in the internet etc.

Possibly you are getting hotter here in Thailand, sweating more, and then you get some water and throw it down your throat?
Far better to take small amounts at a time, also gulping down water might cause acid reflux issues?
-
You are quite right, a badly set up saddle can cause issues, unfortunately unless you go to a knowledgeable bike shop or look it up on the web then you will not get it right,
Things to note;
Bike size and suspension
Saddle suitability
Saddle cushioning (latex cushion can assist)
Saddle height
Saddle angle
Saddle too much forward or back
Handlebars height
Skin sweating and chafing
Once you these issues set correctly you will have absolutely no problems, enjoy!

The problem in Thailand is that internet providers do not ensure at all that the downloads are mainly virus free etc, unlike in the UK, where Virgin, Sky etc block downloads from problem sites.
So in effect all and any viruses etc will be sent to your computer in Thailand.
Free anti virus programmes do a reasonable job but you will get problems. (That's why they are free!)
The other problem with McAfee and other big name anti virus programmes are that they can be a damm nuisance all the time.
The choice is yours, I would suggest you see what is available online or in computer shops etc and read the reviews before buying!!

Not the price I quoted. That’s for a plot but you would have to make your own arrangements for prepping it as well. It’s not for cremation
Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile appWell you did not say that, but 80k is about right for a burial plot, but like I said the Thai Bishop responsible for Chonburi region, explicitly states no foreigners, I worked for the Catholic Church here in Pattaya a few years ago, I was ill and asked about this and was told as an exception I could have a burial plot paying in advance but only in Rayong or further away. Like as previously mentioned, go and speak to the Bishop or Fathers at St Nicholas Church. Best wishes.

It might be worth approaching St Nicholas Church, I was informed some years ago that they own the cemetery and is reserved for church members. So as your friend is Catholic it might be worth approaching them
You are quite right, but unfortunately the Thai Bishop responsible for the Chonburi area will not allow non ordained to be buried in the Chonburi cemeteries. I was offered a place though in Rayong, if I paid whilst alive. I note others have suggested prices etc, but that is for cremations.
I suggest as I said to go and see the Father or the Bishop at the Father Ray Orphanage who also are part of the St Nicholas Church.

not common at all got h pylori to cause diarrhea. it is related to ulcers
Correct diagnosis and sometimes correct antibiotics is a necessity, not just quack remedies and guesses, I'm surprised how many people rely on carrots etc!
Eventually you can get ulcers and / cancer issues! See a Doctor!

I have used Charoen Optics in Pattaya Klang.
Really nice service, a bit cheaper than UK,
They even used my old frames at my request.
Not sure of my spelling of Charoen.
Sorry, but prices have plummeted in the UK, far cheaper than Thailand.

Everything has increased in price, all over Thailand! That's life!
And unfortunately you are getting older!
Also Somtam was much much lower 10 years ago and in general was limited in price to what Thais can afford!
SEX = SOMTAM??

There are none!
You could go and ask at the Father Ray Orphanage (Catholic) but you will be told the same.
I was as a close friend of theirs offered a burial plot at Rayong in one of their churches, (normally only for priests and brothers etc, 10 years ago for 80,000 baht).
I think you will not get a burial plot.

This thread will soon be filled with ignorant comments and claims based upon imagined circumstances.
Indeed and common sense. However, we are missing some important facts such as;
- Does she really have this illness?
- Did the medical report state that she could be treated in Thailand for a period of time and then brought home?
- Did the medical assessment from the insurer indicate she did not need a complete medievac, but could use a conventional transport method?
The news report is not complete.
The only lol will come from those who read your ignorant comment. You have no idea as to the facts of this case and yet here you are claiming there is an insurance mafia. Please share with everyone your knowledge of this case that allows you to offermake your claims. Your allegations are false and a pathetic manifestation of buffoonery. They are also malicious.
I have found that Insurance Companies are okay, of course it will never cover pre existing ailments, why should they? Read the cover and ask questions if concerned!

That should not be needed. They are correct that in a machine you should put the salt away from the dry yeast, as if the two touch the yeast may die. Once mixed it isnt an issue.
Correct! Adding ingredients into bread maker should be:
First the yeast
Then the flour
Then the sugar, oil, salt and water.
Keep opened yeast packs tightly sealed in refrigerator, don't buy the large packs of yeast. (Look at sell by date, it can easily go off)
1/2 teaspoonful of sugar is not enough, especially for a 500gm loaf
I would suggest : one teaspoonful of yeast, same amount for salt and sugar. Only a small amount of oil, 2-3 tablespoonfuls.
And 300 - 325 mls of water.
Works perfectly every time!
