  1. Etihad in 2 weeks £535. Quite good, booked it. Was £525 yesterday!

I agree and use Etihad, but try and get a return for January!! Then you get £676 and seeing as I travel a lot sometimes that adds up, compared to £410 Air India with good flight times, short stopovers etc!

  2. cadex one drop each eye everyday for four days

    cleared it up

but eye problems coming back a couple of weeks after

i think i need to follow a diff application technique

twice a day for 3-5 days???

    two drops each eye???

or take this to the next level and get a vet

i welcome input from those who have experience with this

    thanks for the cadex idea!

Spoke to Vet and he said carry on with CADEX but give half a tablet of Penicillin from Pharmacy for 7 days (about 50 baht for basic packet of penicillin)

  3. If I had to fly an airline like that, I would consider that I couldn't afford a holiday.. rough airline. Even rougher airport stopover.

Also somewhat out of order to make quips over not being able to afford a holiday when the OP is out for 4-5 months.........!

I said clearly "If I had to fly an airline like that, I would consider that I couldn't afford a holiday". what he budgets for is up to him, but I wouldn't do it.

I know what you wrote and I know what I'm implying...........

RUBBISH !! YOU DONT KNOW ME So P..S off!

  4. Well I'm back in Pattaya having flown again Air India return at £410.

First of all, please no snide remarks.

I have to fly to UK nearly every month, so price and timings are important.

Heathrow check in..great, no long queue, was offered and accepted Exit seats with lots of leg space. (newish Boeing 777) Food was so, so

Arrived at Delhi airport..very nice, looks brand new, not too busy, MacDonalds, Domino Pizza and better options available.

Lots of high quality Shops plus general shops, WH Smiths, M&S, Boots etc, Free WiFi...3 hotels including 1 hour or longer stay at $7 dollars per hour

    Stop- over 2.5 hours

Delhi - Bangkok (newish Airbus A321) very nice, plenty of space, food okay...arrived 45 minutes early.

So there you are, not bad for £410 return compared to Etihad at £676 and others from £560 upwards (ie Jet, Oman etc)

  5. I have flown with them several times this year, the planes are modern clean modern Airbuses with about a 2 hour stopover each way. (Indian Airports are terrible)

The food is not very nice unless you like Indian Curry! But lets face it, a plane is a plane.

As to comments about Emirates etc well they are nowadays a lot more, just checked and they stand at £572 and Etihad at £646 for example (travelsupermarket.com)

    Just trying to assist biggrin.png

Its good considering I booked for a friend BKK-LDN and it was 29,000 which is 600 quid.

It's almost always more expesive to book a flight this end (Thailand) for BKK to UK compared with booking UK to BKK. As for Air India, no disrespect intended, but personally I'd rather walk!

OP, please let us know what you think of the Air India flight and Mumbai airport once the trip is over....

Please continue to Post up Prices like this..........

    Appreciated certainly by me.

    Thank you!!

  7. I have used Clinical Lifecare Laboratory and they are top notch BUT in a situation like this I would recommend the pre-marital testing that is offered at Pattaya International Hospital ( sorry I don't like BHP and Memorial). If done as a package it would entitle them the opportunity to have the results discussed by a doctor together, which would be preferred by the OP's "friend"

Clinical Lifecare Laboratory also offer Pre-marital testing packages. (At a much better price than the Hospitals)

And where exactly are they going to give you the results ?

In the lab area where they take the blood samples or in the adjacent open waiting area. The best they will do for privacy is give the results In an envelope and then the OP's friend can read the results together with his TG hit-the-fan.gif

Sorry, but if the results are bad I would much prefer to have a medical professional available for guidance

A Thai Medical Professional for guidance, oh yes really!!! (Talk about argumentative!)

  9. 1. There has been a regular gang operating around the intersection of Jomtien 2nd Rd. and Soi Chaiyaput for at least 8 months, probably much longer.

A Dutch friend of mine on his M/C was assaulted 6 or 8 months ago with the reo bars at night just near that intersection, when the intersection was still rough dirt and gravel, and he was EXTREMELY lucky to get out alive as these guys obviously put no value on human life.

    2. Obviously the Police don't care , as many incidents including my friend's have been reported to them, and they could easily set up a regular decoy operation to trap them.

Obviously there has been no attempt to stamp out this ongoing murderously intent gang of despots.

    3. I daily ride a 30,000 baht beautiful aluminium bicycle around Jomtien for an hour, with my leather lap bag slung around my handle bars, never containing less than about 10,000 baht.

I never venture away from Soi's 1 to 12 / Beach Rd. 2nd Rd. pocket , but now I can see with me riding possibly the nicest bicycle in Jomtien and a lap pouch in obvious sight, and only occasionally wearing my bike crash helmet, that I have been making a target out of myself even though I never leave heavily populated areas, so I will immediately modify my behaviour !

    Thank you for the lesson.

    Very clever!! Not!

  10. I can thoroughly recommend and has latest eqipment for tests etc and fair prices:

247/59 Moo 10 Pattaya Third Road (South Pattaya going toward Bali Hai Pier - before overpass)

    Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi

    Phone: 038 488 048 or 081 481 7180 or 086 812 9397 Fax: 038 488 048

  11. I think you probably cannot do this using your SIPP...unless the purchase is in name of the trustees of the SIPP scheme..been a while since I professionally advised on SIPP's.

Anyhow you realise that once you have bought that it can be very hard to sell in a reasonable time scale (Forget what Estate Agents tell you) ask around.

Better to rent for a good while and then once settled to consider buying.

PM me if you want more advice.

    Best

    Paul

(Of course your Wife wants you to buy!)

  12. Well I am sorry to hear of your problems....me...well I ride a fairly expensive mountain bike every day, but lets be honest..Thais in general are definetly not interested in robbing you of your bike!!! What can they do with it? Thais dont even want to ride a bike?

As to danger...well nearly every road in Thailand has a Mom and pop shop or indeed a 7-11, surely if you felt in danger you would go into them or even a house front?

You could always wave down a bike with sidecar and they will happily take you anywhere safer if you felt in danger with your ike for 100 baht+-.

Still perhaps I have been lucky, I have never seen a Thai look at me twice on my bike.

Perhaps you are going to isolated areas too much?

    Good luck!

  13. Well I thought I would finally add my thoughts...the problem is most foreigners dont realise that Thais in particlar buy a condo and do not intend ever selling it, regardless of prices. (it is there weekend place away from Bangkok)

Then you get the foreigner who thinks he can make a killing...silly, silly...look at the prices for a 100 sqm condo 5 years ago and you will see in many areas it has gone down slightly and when it comes to selling a used condo, well why should anyone buy it, when they can a get a brand new one in a new build at the same price?

Sure if you buy with intentions of living in it for your life then no problem...but for instance try and find a foreigner who has tried to sell his used condo, how long and at what big discount??? A waste of time.

Please dont believe the Estate agent hype, look around at condos and you can see the empty ones (ie no Air cons fitted or just looking empty) ...there are thousands!

Why not just rent and invest your money in a simple set of deposit accounts and offset the interest so your condo rent appears reasonable and you stil have mobility.

    BE CAREFUL!
