  1. i think your new shower restricts the flow of water more than the old one and the pump turns on and off more.you could try the shower with the faucet open at the same time so the pump doesn't cut out any more.ultimately it seems you just not have enough pressure and since you are renting you might do what one of my tenents did, you buy a smaller booster pump and and have it installed just ahead of your appartment.

  2. it is true the round thai chopping blocks are only tamarind, any other tree o know off cannot be used in slices without serious checking.they are very durable when chopping with a cleaver.you do the same thing on a teak board you are going to eat a lot of teak over time, bad for the knife edge also as it contains silica.no great flavour either ,i tasted it many times when dealing with the dust.if the board goes ontop of your hob it is only for light chopping mostly cutting i guess.any dense wood that is not too aromatic will do.where i come from it would be quarrtersawn maple -butcherblock. cleaning with a little clorox is a good idea too.teak is ok maybe for a salad bowl or a stirring spoon.in general  all wood from the rainforest is better avoided.

    leave it to the monkeys.

  3. I remember going to  a huge tribal funeral that lasted for several days  with many  ceremonies involved , animals killed and eaten, several shamans working around the clock.I was also surprised  that there was intense gambling all night long  some of which i never understood the rules of, even though i watched for  hours.all the gamblers were part of the funeral as far as i understood....

You may want to consider buying a shipping container (20 Ft., 40 Ft.) however many you need and converting it into a home, many have done it. I have also seen places in Bangkok that do this.

At least you know they are robust enough to be moved without falling apart, also easy to get a truck-trailer to move it.

if this idea interests you there is a gallery near wat umong just like that ,they will hook you up.there was an article in city life about it.

I understood (perhaps incorrectly) that Germans are not allowed to hold dual citizenship. If that is indeed the case, then if they take up German citizenship surely they will have to surrender their British citizenship.

you got that the wrong way around.after i got us citizenship i subsequently lost my german passport, other nationalities getting the german one can keep theirs.

not only that ,it is quite easy for israelis too to stay in germany ,work and file for citizenship.there is an exodus of intellectual young israelis . some 30. ooo  now  live in berlin. quite well actually.
