  1. Stay at home and mind your own business and no harm will come.

Been warned numerous times not to sail- faith is in your own hands

Little like playing with fire, one day will burn yourself.

Surely even pre school kids understand the basics

Israel just don't want any photographic evidence of them slaughtering any unarmed civilian activists that are onboard, as was the case with the Turkish flotilla.

My thoughts and best wishes are with those onboard and I hope that they can accomplish their peaceful, symbolic mission of syupport for the Palestinian people without coming to any harm.

  2. The international court has asked them to take down the barrier. Their own court has said to take down the barrier. 4 years later they decide to do something. Where is the concession? A concession to follow the law?

Why should the Israeli govt be cheered for doing something illegal then having to rectify it?

International court also asked to stop killing own civilians, stop producing bombs etc etc etc and yet nothing happened. Please direct your criticism towards the so called "victims" who believe its perfectly normal to kill in the gods name and rather than being punished get praised for it

IMO, the mere thought that this is a "concession" will do far more damage to the peace process than rockets or suicide bombers ever could.

and you are entitled to your opinionwink.gif

  4. A small step, but a step in the right direction.

Just goes to show the old adage indeed holds true.

    Persistence conquers resistance, eventually.

Leopard can't change its spots-people cannot change basic aspects of their character, especially negative ones.

Describes your posts perfectly as no matter what Israel does-you just can not help yourself but find some negativity in it.

Unlike your beloved "freedom" nations, court ruled and IDF complied even though it is not in the best interest of the nation.

  5. in other words, it appears as PT is not getting the amount of votes they dreamed expected, so it must be fraud somewhere

    Hopefully, you are right

I have a recent comment from a Udon Thai person. PT canvassers and hangers on recently visited every house in the area, demanded to be given full details of every person over 18 at each house, demanded ID card numbers etc., handed out how to vote literature and left.

Next morning a totally plain envelope was in every letter box with 1,000Baht cash for every person over 18. Who delivered the envelope and cash, easy answer - the Easter bunny of course.

How would they know who did / didn't vote for PT?

Another method I'm aware of (from previous elections), is that 100 baht is given to the voter, then the remaining money being given (400 baht) once the candidate is successfully elected. This gives better assurance that the voter actually votes for the candidate.

Perhaps this time around, they are more desperate and paying upfront and double. Desperate times call for desperate measures-much more at stakewink.gif

Take the envelope and vote for another partycheesy.gif,

So next time round might get 2000 in the envelope-lol

  7. The job of the Thai police is to enrich their police generals, colonels and station commanders and to serve the whims of Thailand's moneyed elite.

Why would anyone think their role is to arrest the perpetrators of crimes against ordinary victims (including "no connections" tourists. Where's the benefit in that??

I am not defending the actions of Thai Police, but lets realistically consider the facts in this matter.

there is no evidence the guy was robbed-only his word. No CCTV can show the theft of money or phone from within the room.

that means the guy would need to be in court to testify, which may take 1 year or more, because of such a small case.

He is a tourist who i doubt will come back to testify (possibly a number of times)

So, it would take time to find the ladyboy, arrest him/her and then what? Money can not be recovered, most likely case will be dismissed because no evidence or witness. Why indeed waste time?

Even back home(in the West), petty thieves get bail minutes after being arrested and hardly ever get any punishment, because most are unemployed and do not have the money to pay the fine and to lock them up cost more than the crime.

  8. In reality Police is actually correct in regards to claiming the insurance.

Even if they were able to find the ladyboy, they would never recover anything back, but telling him to file insurance claim gets him fully reimbursed.

As for his story, well i am sure he was successful fighting off the girls all night long, yet chose to be in red light district all night long.

Was fighting off girls all night long and yet ended up with a ladyboy, "afterhours"

Came to find school yet spend his nights in red light district.

He should stick with that story, i am sure mom and dad back home believe him :D

  9. Hellodoly

Why do not you underline criticism of a Thai individual or a person before you continue with trolling

Since trolling is about all you have done on this thread.

Ps. Me owing a business and employing local people sure gives better understanding and knowledge of the country and people than some one like you sitting in the village in Isaan and receiving pension., that is presuming you are even in Thailand and not a 1 week tourist

  10. I pay personal tax, company tax, employ 20 Thai people., pay social security etc etc

Does that qualify me to express my opinion?

Now the question is what do you to have the right to criticize others personally ?

It is definitely the "Hub of Whingeing Farangs"

Some day it would be really nice to come to TV and see a forum about the ALL good things in Thailand without all the knockers adding their comments....Now who is going to be first to flame me...Your prize is a wet bus ticket

Why not you make a thread and start the list of all the great things, rather than make your judgements of what and who people arerolleyes.gif

Can you tell me what you actually contribute to the country that you constantly knock

I compare living in a country to going to a restaurant....if I like it I go back and recommend it...if I dont like it I never go back and knock the hell out of it....if you like Thailand to live in be a little constructive...if it does not suit your taste there are many other countries in the world that would welcome your money etc etc

Just been for the big monthly shop at Makro...had a lot of fun with all the staff who were more than helpful and lots of Thai smiles....go to Tesco in the UK and u get the surly look which says "what the hell are you doing here upsetting my day by wanting me to actually do some work "

Now off for lunch at simple Thai restaurant where I enjoy great food and service with lots of smiles for little money

Than have to call into the bank where I will be greeted by another lot of smiles and good service

Tomorrow is Immigration day where I get get great service and have done so for more than 9 years....I dont carry an attitude with me when I go

Then off to see the lawyer who is and his staff a ton of fun

In the evening I will have some beers at a bar that is not full of attitudinal (is that a word)farangs bursting your eardrum about how things are done in their countries

Now is that enough fun for a couple of days

I did my homework before coming to live in Thailand permantly...checked out a few places that I thought I may enjoy but warts and all Thailand is a mile in front for what I want out of life....if it does not suit you well u should take a few paces back and decide what you really want...if Thailand is what you want then enjoy and contribute and by contribute I dont mean just money

  11. Remind us again who gave you the right to judge people? Tell people what to do or determine rights or wrongs?

Perhaps sun is little too strong in your village huh?!

    hub hub hub

The one thing we know for sure it is the hub for wanke_rs who can not make it and are socially unacceptable where they come from. This hub allows them to look down there noses at others rather than being the one's who are looked down on.

It is also a hub for retiree's who want to live in a beautiful environment with opportunities to do things they could only dream of back home. Opportunities to have a life free of the restrictions placed on them by the need to earn money.

I am not going to say it is but it might be a hub for those looking for new and different opportunities to make a living. The posabilities are endless and they need not be negative. The choice to dwell in the negative is yours it is not enforced on you. That is a presumption on my part that you are not mentally sick. Sorry if that is the case. Suggest you leave Thailand it is not a hub for restoration of mental health.

    Dr Phil

  13. Exactly. It can be done, but needs a lot of work, procedures and control, something for which Thailand is not really a hub I'm afraid. Getting certified won't be easy.

I hate to disagree, but Thailand is a hub for lack of procedures, lack of control and the capital of laziness. So another hub is perfect. the only problem is just like all other "hubs", mind you there is one at least every month, Thailand is also a hub of having short memory, so all the hubbing will be forgotten by tomorrow :)

Dear Kuffki, thanks for the compliment. You just confirmed that by now my English has reached a level where I'm able to write understatements which confuse other non-English speakers. That is assuming I understand what you wrote. ;)

I wrote 'needs lot of work, procedures, control, not known in Thailand'. You wrote disagree, Thailand does none of that. In my eyes that's about the same as 'not known in'. The other hub you mention to be perfect is the one I wrote 'can but not easy in Thailand.

This really brings me to the question, do you know what you talk about? Sorry, but having come full circle I do not see what else I can conclude :ermm:

    Kuffiki is a Thai basher.

He has not one good thing to say about Thai's. To him they are only good if they serve him.

His expertise on Thai's is derived from Pattaya and Kosan road in Bangkok. Hardly a good base to draw sweeping conclusions from.

The OP has a 4 year time frame and is very open about the fact that a lot has to change.

Why he would like to shoot it down now is beyond me. I often wonder what it is these Thai basher's gain with there constant stream of bashing. I notice they never bash how cheap it is to live a comfortable life here how cheap it is for them to enjoy the pleasures of life here. In short they are just a sad lot.

Welcome Dr Phil, please do tell me more about who and what i am.

How did you manage to derive at conclusion of my expertise? did you take it from your personal experiences?

PS. It is not Kaosan but Khaosan or Khao San, just a thought to get the names correct prior to posting.

You also forgot to mention Nana and Patpongrolleyes.gif

I was not aware that Isaan was actually the "REAL "Thailandblink.gif, considering that they do not even speak Thai, but rather Isaan which is no doubt you are aware is either half lao or half khamer. but since it is the real Thailand according to your deep and thorough understanding of the people, country and culture, you may want to visit all those "bad" places and you just may find that only majority if not all people working in those places are from Isaan. Funny that, is not itwhistling.gif

As for your delusional statement about time frame, first the EU ban needs to be lifted, only then would be the time to even start discussing "hubbing" optionsunsure.gif

  14. It was a joke, :)

Remember that by now Thailand has been the hub of almost everything and yet not many things follow any logic. :)

  15. What a load of rubbish.

You might be right. It is certainly very optimistic. In the UK, the Soil Association require farm land to be free from artificial fertilizers and pesticides for 2 years before the produce can be called organic. After that, there are strict controls on what fertilizers and pesticides may be used. If the same rules are applied in Thailand, the use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides will have to stop by 2013. That is only 18 months away. It is not going to happen voluntarily.

Exactly. It can be done, but needs a lot of work, procedures and control, something for which Thailand is not really a hub I'm afraid. Getting certified won't be easy.

  16. So according to Assad is it Israel who is shooting Syrians?whistling.gif

    or

Is it Israelli and American military who are protesting on the streets?ph34r.gif

Experts say Syrian president is 'delusional, helpless'

Tabler, the co-founder and former editor-in-chief of Syria Today, the first private-sector English language magazine in the country, said that Assad’s contention that foreign “conspirators” and “saboteurs” were bringing chaos to Syria “is an old thing for Assad; not just during this crisis, but throughout his presidency.”

  17. Please Dr. Phil , do enlighten me what my other struggles are.?

Yep, as always another "suicide" but this time IN police station. I wonder if the foreign suicide will ever stop in Thailand.

After all, the only thing i am struggling with is why would someone fly to Thailand to commit suicide? can they not do it back home

This may not be your only struggle, but you made me laugh
