  1. You are not a citizen of Australia and you still must vote?

If he is a permanent resident, which is a status given to those who are granted residency which pretty much means a citizen. Some countries have a 2 year wait, others 5 year wait.

Palestinians not living in Israel do not have a status of perm resident of Israel(only in their minds) so they do not have the right to vote.

The ones living in Israel who apply for the perm residency status, can and do vote, not only that they can demonstrate and voice their opinions.

  2. Was not aware Palestinians were Israeli citizens, perhaps in country of your origin non citizens get to vote.

Well at least you are right there. I'm not a citizen where I live but I can vote, in fact it is compulsory that I vote.

WHAT RUBBISH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT NOW?

Non citizens or perm residence DO NOT get to vote in any country worldwide, which includes Australia

What a load of rubbish you like to post sometimes, REALLY

  3. Do not forget to bring the coupon

Arab world joined together already 3 times and thanks to that happy reunion each time Israel got bigger.

Perhaps it's time for Arabs to realize Israel is here to stay and is most prosper and democratic nation in the region .

Rather than running around and crying , perhaps IRS also tine for PA to come up with realistic plan of action instead of making UN realistic demands.

This is good news for the Palestinian people and all Arabs around the world. Yet Israel is still trying to deny the inevitable. Best they come back to the table and save as much land as the Palestinian will allow them to keep. With the Arab world joining together it would be best to settle this long, drawn out problem and establish a Palestinian State as soon as possible and by peaceful mean. If not I fear a major confict in the region. A conflict that will have no winners.

I can see all the pro Israeli's here venting their own anger at Mr Obamas decision. They too are in denial.

And now it is time to hand that land back. Hahaha. Enjoy your dinner!!!

  4. Or can always be realistic and rational . Stop the rockets, denounce violence, compromise and have Arabs living in Israel , Jews living in Palestine. And Palestine can enjoy the already established and developed prosperity Israel has.

But that would be too rational so the next best thing is to demand what can not physically be done.

uggh, i know, we talked about it in other threads, we even put up maps, but israel has built settlements all over the place, so in an area of a mere 10km, which is about the distance from sukhumvit road to silom, the border is going to be stringing all over the place between these 2 states because israel wants to retain settlement blocks; it's ridiculous, not done anywhere else in the world and it will lead to a situation where israel one day, maybe even in 30 years from now; collapses into 1 state, like it was during British Palestine.. and until then we have misery and violence every day because no one in america will stand up to the destructive agenda of aipac.

  5. Was not aware Palestinians were Israeli citizens, perhaps in country of your origin non citizens get to vote.

Ps. Israeli Arabs do vote and have the right to demonstrate peacefully without being beaten or tortured or shot in the head

it's not democratic, it's a racist aphartied state, if it were democratic 4 million palestinians would be voting in every election since 1967; if they don't want to 'give back' the west bank they can call their country israel-palestine and just be a 1 state democracy where you don't discriminate based on religion, or atleast give them equal rights until they figure out how to solve this issue sometime in the next 50 years, israel's right wing supporters on this forum advocate a kukluxklan/south african aphartied type state and they try to hide that fact with garbage like 'churchhill appeasement' or whatever.. ok since your so supportive of democracy and hamas is like the nazi's then surly you guys support citizenship and equal rights for all like in america, nows about the time they start saying the Palestinians should move to jordan.. so like if there was a civil rights issue in southern california we should tell the blacks and hipanics if they don't like it they should go back to mexico and africa.. you know same ol crap as the other threads on this forum

  7. according to whom? Source of your statistics please?

    y

So you do not know and instead of acknowledging the fact , you prefer to support any idea no matter how ridiculous or unrealustic it is , as long as it's either agaist Israel or making Israel look bad?

The majority of the world are against your views. I'm quite happy to be with the majority.

  8. So you do not know and instead of acknowledging the fact , you prefer to support any idea no matter how ridiculous or unrealustic it is , as long as it's either agaist Israel or making Israel look bad?

    l

    Huh?

I have put simple questions for you.

One does not need Gov clearance to present a simple plan.

If you do not know the answer , simply say so! Do not try to answer question with a question or go off subject!

Now back to the question put to you!

Palestine pressumably wants 68 borders, what is the plan for policing borders and providing security for Jews living there?

What is Palestinian plan in dividing Jerusalem and plan for control and security ?

Since Hamas already stated they will not recognize Israel what is the guarantee for peace should 68 borders be accepted?

Since Hamas already stated they want 48 borders, what's the point of 68 borders?

Since both Hamas and PA have not denounced violence, why should Israel do anything at all?

No need to put any questions to me. Put them to you the US govt and the ever growing number of govt's of the world that are sick and tired of Israel's antics.

Just accept it going to happen regardless of the concerns of the minority.

    Israels's tactic has not worked?

Who is doing all the whining?and making unrealistic demands being well aware it's not going to happen.

Not to mention, not even one word or mention of a plan on how to implement.

I wonder why that is? Perhaps you can tell me! Or we can always wait for the usual quartet to come and post some useless links, instead of the actual plan

Seems Obama is copping the brunt of critisism for what the international community believes is the right thing to do. Israel is slowly but inevitably becoming the pariah and the usual suspects will blame anyone and everyone but Israel. Obviously Israel's tactics have not worked and it is time they changed their tune to come into line with the international community.

Israel resumed settlement constructions even though they were labeled as a violation of international law by the international community.

No, Israel's tactics have not worked. If it worked then you wouldn't be on here crying about it.

I don't know why you concern yourself with how this will all happen, unless of course you have a high enough government clearance and the 'need to know'. Just accept that the tide has turned against Israel because of its policies and no amount of bleating by the minority will change it.

  11. Obama has to either be a monumentally naeive idiot or a cunning machiavelian schemer who desires the destruction of Israel. This comes against a backdrop of Hamas having essentially shunted Fatah aside and are now dictating Palestinian policy. The drop in suicide bombings since the end of the second intifada are a direct consequence of settlement building and the security fence joining them.

I can only hope Obama gets kicked out of office asap before he can do any more damage.

The quicker the faciast in Isreal go back to the 1967 boarder, the better for everybody, knock down all these illigal settlements,(as per UN resolutions)the Palestines and the Isrealies, will one day have to live in peace as good neigbours. For far to long the Americans have been supporting Isreal instead of supporting peace.

Could you please elaborate how to police the new so called borders?

What plan do you propose to undertake? besides knocking down the houses?

Who and how would provide security for the Jews living there? Or do you propose Israel throws out the 1.5 million arabs living on Israels land or would you prefer that those left living in the NEW so called Palestine will be just killed since PA has no ability or control to police and provide security

How do you propose to set up Jerusalem? what and how to police the borders?

And last and pretty much most importantly, since Hamas already made a statement that they want PRE-1967 borders, more like 1948 borders or no Israel at all, Please tell us again, why Israel should go to 1968 borders? which will not solve anything(as already stated by Hamas)

and why should Israel do anything, if Hamas refused to recognize Israel

If you do not mind, please answer every question i put to you in detail and specifically without answering question with a question or going off topic. But a realistic, rational answer please.

I think its safe to presume you will provide just that, since you were able to call Israel "faciast", so no doubt you will provide coherent and detail answer.

    Thank you in advance

  12. Has it ever occurred to the writer and others who are of the same opinion that perhaps the so called "sexpats" simply have a brain and dislike being taken for fools ?!

All the moronic statements, hypocritical behavior I would imagine might be the reason for the dislikes of the man.

I also find it interesting that the writer chose to criticize the "users" of the service.

Has it not occurred that there people as described because Thailand provides the environment for it?!

Who should be punished and stopped the dealer or the user? Dah! I think the answer is pretty clear!

Who is to blame that many other industries are very restricted and rather limited to locals ?

Who is to blame for the extra efforts made to make foreigner business dealings as difficult as possible ?

Perhaps it's time for Thailand to look at itself and address the issues rather then scapegoat or try to point fingers at users of the product they have created, developed and nurtured .

  13. Thanks for your post. I a kind of disagree with your statement.

KIND OF disagree? I can scarcely imagine an area where Thais would revert to English, unless the spoken Thai was completely unintelligible. Some specific sois in Pattaya perhaps. But even in Pattaya and Bangkok I mostly speak Thai with people, unless their English is really very good.

do you find markets and retail stores scary? where do you shop?

While you mostly speak Thai, ever taken into consideration if people understand what you speak and not just nod the head?

Nah, scratch that, i am sure your Thai is fluent and flawless, just like 99% of the Thai Visa memberswink.gif

  14. It was more about the ability to speak some Thai to get around.

It must be weird to live in the middle of nowhere, not being able to pronounce Sao Sao tee nai khrap.....

My point being is that so many foreigners just don't want to learn the spoken language here, but they want their Barbie to learn for example German, or Turkish.

I'm also one out of a few who's still together with my wife for 10+ years. Going through hell and back. Good day Khun Khwai......:jap:

I have to disagree with the post about language.

I went to school for over 2 years and have a vocabulary of at least 2000-3000 words, however i found locals make no effort to EVEN try to understand a foreigner.

Endless times i would go into a shop and speak Thai, yet the answers come in English.

Endless times i have gone to a restaurant and was ordering in Thai, HOWEVER every time it was a mainly Thai place they simply refused to understand me.

English speaking people, can understand a variety of accents, slang and people who can hardly speak English, i mean we even learned to understand "my friend you" phrase, yet locals make no effort unless you speak fluent Thai.

So if anything, you may find many people(foreigners) do speak Thai, but choose not to, because they are always misunderstood or not understood at all and again not because they speak wrong, but because locals make no effort to understand.

Also, there are so many provinces here with their own dialect that it makes it all that much harder to communicate.

Personally i can have a half decent conversation with a lawyer or a doctor in BKK, yet can not understand 80% of what Taxi driver says.

And lastly, personally i do not recall any times when local tried to correct me or advise me on the word or the tone, so again personally i have given up speaking even though i do understand when i am spoken to.

  15. Maybe it's time to rejuvenate the members. Imagine the same survey in 2031: average age will be 70 - 79!!!!

Of course, most of the farang living in Thailand are old chap like us but I see, on a daily basis, young guys LIVING in the country, mostly in Bangkok, I mean expats not tourists.

They would probably not be interested by the useless discussions / forums about Thaksin but they obviously like the country and have something to tell about it.

At this moment, where do they meet (on line)?

Well, perhaps they are just happy to stay here and do not mind about politics and criticisms about Thailand.

That depends on what you consider youngwink.gif

  16. Euro girl = Hee Yai

    Thai girl = Hee Noi

    priceless and no comparison

    na kop

    What is Hee?

Ask the Czech guy. He'll tell you how Hee Noi can make ya stupid mak mak.

    Euro girl = Hee Yai

    Hee Min

Sorry, i do not have access to Czech guys, you brought it up, so please be kind to explain.

Also Noi and Yai is Thai language, so why would Czech guys know Thai language?

Did you mix the 2 languages together or trying to use Thai?

  17. I seriously doubt men who stole money would keep it in the banks of the country which works so close with country where crime was committed and in their name!

Clearly they did a runner, and could not return, I am sure all the money was with them in Thailand .

There is absolutely no reason other than money for the pregnant gf to give the father of the baby up.

Not even the dumbest bar girl would give up her cash cow, especially with baby unless she was going to come out having much more money !

But at the end of the day, all we can do is speculate as we will not know, unless if course some one knows the gf and sees her driving Benz :)

I'd leave them in Thai jail for a while ...

The men were detained in the town of Pattaya, one of the most popular tourist centres in Thailand. They have apparently been living there since they disappeared from the Czech Republic, APA writes. A pregnant girl-friend of one of the thieves helped the authorities trace the wanted men, Austrian press reports. The men, Josef Blazek and Rudolf Tesarek, were sentenced to ten years in prison for the theft in the Czech Republic previously.

Sorry, but they must have been really weird to live their lives in Pattaya, not to mention the pregnant girl-friend helping the authorities to find them.

But for what reason would a pregnant girl-friend help them? Looks like she's got her cash somewhere............:jap:

House/condo or any other real estate investments are in her name, car/s is in her name, most likely bank account/s is also in her name.

Where is the money people ask? all in her name ;)

Not at all. I completely disagree. Most likely the money is in Switzerland. Many Czechs bank in Switzerland. Czech Republic has excellent cooperation with Switzerland. Having lived in the Czech Republic for a number of years and doing business with the Czechs on a daily basis, I know that Czech men do not hand out money easily. In a country where some of the most beautiful women in the world come from, they are very careful with their money and are not easily swayed by women.

There are any number of reasons that the g/f could have had for her cooperation with the police.

  18. IDF: Northern border incidents are an 'Iranian provocation'

    http://www.jpost.com/NationalNews/Article.aspx?id=220621

A senior IDF officer told The Jerusalem Post that Israel views the Syrian government as responsible for the violent protests, and the IDF is trying to push back the infiltrators.

Another Israeli official said, "this is a cynical and transparent act by the Syrian regime to create a crisis on the border with Israel in order to distract public opinion from the very real problems at home."

"Syria is a police state. This sort of thing could not happen without the support of the regime. It is clear they wanted this to play the Israel card, in order to silence their own democratic opposition," the official said.
