  1. Been away a few weeks. Nice to be back and the stifling heat and smoke haze gone. Was a little worried not getting a decent rain for 3 weeks after planting some sunn hemp but managed 30mm earlier this week and has germinated ok. Lots of weeds but should outgrow them in most area's.
  2. Thanks Rip,been over in the Philippines and just back last night. I tip so much better when their internet is dogs balls and can't change my tips.
  3. Coming along nicely Encid. Our last build the guy went way overkill with the steel roof structure and with changing temperatures you can here it creak and growl like it wants to pop the tek screws out. He was a motor body builder come shed builder come house builder.???? so i don't expect you to have this problem but thought i would mention it.
  4. No i haven't,only used a couple of their maize varieties. There is no local market around here to sell to the grain. Many years a go i grew a variety the Thai's called Jumbo in the cool season for cattle feed. It grew well with minimal attention
  5. Pacific seeds do a variety. https://advantaseeds.com/th/crops/grain-sorghum/
  6. Hi CLW I can irrigate, have plenty of water but would rather not incur the expense. Have had success with dry seeding before and waiting for rain. I think it helps to make sure the excisting weeds turned over from seeding die off properly and the seed gets an even chance competing other weed seeds on germination without using chemicals. Being a woody seed you have minimal damage from insects and wildlife. Will be off the farm for a couple of weeks so wanted to get something in the ground.(would of liked more) Last year i planted i think a month later and ended up having to get a drone in prior to harvest to desiccate the crop, another added expense. This year it works out so far -one mowing/slashing,one offset disc then a combination offset disc and seeding pass. 145 baht/rai in diesel so to put that 30 rai in was 4350 baht so besides the chance of losing the seed(which is mine) it rates pretty well on a risk assessment.
  7. Here's hoping for the rain KS. If not for the grasses and seeds than to clear the air up here will do. Pic taken this morning.
  8. Mung beans https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/how-to-grow-mung-beans.htm
  9. Bit the bullet on Monday and dry seeded about 30 rai of sunn hemp. Got a few more modifications to do to the offset disc and seeder towed in tandem to make it more user friendly. This is the 1st year i decided to seed round and round the field rather than the standard up and back. Well Clarkson's farm has nothing on this years 1st effort. Where's Caleb when i need him.???? Seeded at 3 times the rate for 1st 6 laps before cutting the rate back. Electric blower i use to distribute the seed died so strip number one somewhere. Generator powering blower ran out of fuel so strip number two. Then 3 more lots of blockages at seeder till i realised a disc's bearings had collapsed. Back to shed and fixed bearings and parked up. Too bloody hot. Mrs is stressed at how it is going to look with nothing planted on the inner section of the field and the strips,i have assured her it can be given a haircut with the slasher in area's that need addressing or reseeded where the strips are,it was so dry going to need a couple of inches of rain to get it germinated. No pictures as i was the only fool out working in those temperatures.
  10. I think we will be compete for 3/4's then get over run. I won't be backing us again until Logue and McKay are playing together in the backline. Best we have to look forward to is a LDU brownlow medal and number two draft pick.????
  11. Thanks men And for Will changing the candy bars weekly. Your boys showed plenty of heart today. Alex will be purchasing a Starbucks shortly with a red and and blue comfy feeling at the enterance down in Patts. Happy for GCS's with respect to Swallow playing 200,getting the job done was a big effort. Never expected my boys to win in Tassie but still in the 8 Swanies a better side without Buddy but how do you let the champ go.
  12. Hi Owl Our daughter in Chumphae had a hail storm. 35 clicks away we got two drops. It's got to the stage i will start dry seeding my sunn hemp on Monday and hope rain comes later.
  13. Well done Rip on the tipping and getting me in the fantasy. And well done WA in the cricket, watched the winning runs half time of Bombers GCS's game.???? Daily double for Will with WCE getting up too.
  14. Can't those ISIS prisoners be transferred to American territory then leave?
  15. Thanks Will I was still getting over Walters kicking a goal when it was Amiss's free kick. Anyway sorts itself out. TBH looked like the umps added up the free kick count at 3/4 time and decided we needed a few.
  16. Yes my lack of understanding. Hemp seeds for oil is what i'm after. Sorry for the confusion, varieties for this outdoors? I have a no-till seeder for small seeds and a harvester.
  17. How did the Kangaroos look on those 85 inches men???? So happy for the club.
  18. Thanks for the reply,CBD to extract oil.
  19. As above, what would be a user friendly strain in Thailand that grows about one metre tall outdoors. And can harvest the seeds with a mechanical harvester. Let's say 80 rai. Tia .
  20. Fenced in or not. Open land i prefer fixed up females as they stay home. Males will wander. Our new pup who will take over from the old girl in the near future.
