I haven't seen "Settled" Australian as being a reason for refusal. Is that the only reason they provided? If not, maybe you can post the refusal letter minus the personal details. You said you have applied for the Sponsored family stream before. How long ago was her last visit? Paying for airline tickets before a visa grant isn't recommended. Can she apply for a tourist stream visa instead?

3BB internet out almost 24 hours now, S. Pattaya

You're only guessing about parts and technicians. When we had really bad flooding a few months ago, it was down for 4 days. I generally find them to be quite good. It is what is it is. You either have to put up with it or find another option if there's one available. -

I'm with 3BB. No one on here can tell you how long they will be down for. Depend's where you are but I find them pretty good. IMO, going into the office will achieve nothing. They're aware of the problem and are trying to fix it. It sucks but you just have to wait it out I'm afraid. -

More Immigration shenanigans 90 report

I've already told you. I'm not going to war over a 100 Baht. I really don't need the grief. If you and others want to die in a ditch over a 100 baht, good for you. I don't. I'm not answering your hypotheticals either. -

Like I said, each to their own. I can do without the grief. Especially for a 100 Baht. -

Yep, you have to choose your battles sometimes. I wouldn't be pissing off Immigration over a 100 Baht. Each to their own though. -

Surely at the end of the day, the OP is entitled to feel pissed off that a new Samsung tv only lasted 14 months before <deleted>ting itself. Whether it was a basic model or not, is not really relevant IMO.

I use mine through my android box and mainly watch stuff I've downloaded. Sometimes I've watched sport using an IPTV and have never seen an ad.

Storyville: Dogs of War. Thought this was excellent. The untold true story of how Dave Tomkin, originally a safe-cracker from London, rose from small-time criminal to international mercenary and arms dealer, enabling death and destruction around the world. Originally a safe-cracker from London, Dave Tomkins craved adventure. Dogs of War is the untold true story of how he rose from small-time criminal to international mercenary and arms dealer, enabling death and destruction around the world. Now, at the end of his notorious career and life, he reflects on his past, the people he worked with and the lives lost along the way.

TBF, the OP did say it was a brand new TV. One would assume it hasn't been knocked over etc. I think you nailed it with your temperature and humidity comment. When I buy a TV now, I hope it will last 4 years and anymore and it's a bonus. That's why I think it's pointless buying something high end for 100 000 Baht plus. Been there done that. Now I just get a decent brand at a decent price and hope it lasts.
-
I don't watch any free to air stuff on my Samsung so don't get the ads. I watch everything through an android box so don't use the Apps either. My issue is their lack of durability.
-
I thought the same about Sony. But, I've had 2 here in Thailand and both lasted only 3 or so years. I still maintain the one you bought 15 years ago and older ones were built to a standard. Not anymore. IMO, there's not much difference between the big brands like LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic etc. I hope you have better luck with yours.

Some of the TCL models have a 5 year warranty, which is excellent.

I'm not sure. We get a lot of power cuts where we are. I've got a surge protector but not sure if the power failures contribute or not. As mentioned above, just get the cheapest model of a decent brand.
-
They build things to a price these days. In my experience, in most cases repairs are just not worth it. Estimating your TV was around 13 000 Baht over a year ago. You could probably get the same one for under 10 000 now and another brand probably cheaper. So unless your tech can repair it for around 3000 Baht, you're better off getting another one. My experience with Tv's in Thailand is they have lasted generally about 4 years. I've had most brands, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung and LG.

I think all 3 will be good for you FJ. Then you have pick 2, although word on the Soi is that Richmond want to trade you for it. Think WC overcommitted for Baker TBH. Really disappointed we split pick 3. -

Also interesting to see most of the players suspended were fringe players. The good ones got fines....... -
Can see this ending well.

Hunting a Monster This one was really good. Couldn't find a trailer with English subtitles unfortunately. Convicted sex offender Lluís asks filmmaker Carles to make a documentary about his life to fix his image. He agrees, expecting an apology, but realizes Gros remains unrepentant. Carles undigs more of Gros's crimes and fights for justice.
