They put my refund in a wallet but upon trying to use it they said farang cannot now have money in a wallet. I've had to send them a photo of my passport and the first page of my bank book. In fact I wanted the refund put into my wife's bank account. To have that done I also had to send them a photo of her ID card.
Been a month now and I've still not got my money refunded. Originally they told me a refund would take 7 days. Customer service on Lazada stinks.
have you contacted them again about the refund ?
sometimes I buy expensive items - TV's (4 over last 8 years) Fridges - washing machines - phones etc etc, had to return some stuff valued at over 80k baht
will not be buying anything expensive again unless they sort this stupidity out

I posted the chart to show It didn't start going down in 2016. It carried on going down.
It's been going down since 2004.
the general trend is the baht strengthening not the other was round
It is now severely hurting Thailand and may be too late to do something about it without extreme intervention, it should have been managed over a long period - now it is going to have to be managed very quickly with extreme measures which are risky, we have seen this sort of behavior in other countries - Venezuela is a prime example, they would not be in the situation they are in if their economy had been managed properly over a long period, I am not saying Thailand could end up like Venezuela but perhaps heading for a turbulent time - they took their eye off the ball

I think you are directing the failing health of the UK toward the wrong people. I am sure if you did the research you will find the fall of the lb. to the baht is related to activity in your on country. The economy of Thailand has also improved since the days of 75 to the dollar anyone who expected the baht to stay this low for ever is lacking a few brain cells. Any one with a problem over the pound failing should talk to their new PM
you clearly don't understand how to work out if a currency has gone up or down
compare just thai baht with one major currency tells you absolutely nothing - which one went up and which one down - not possible to determine, it is a little more complex
compare thai baht with the top 6 currencies over at least 3 years will provide a reasonable accurate trend of what's up and what's down

Over the past year many currencies have fallen. The UK is nearly the worst but only just :-
%
Australia - 14.3
Norway - 13.0
UK - 12.9
Sweden - 11.8
China - 10.5
India - 10.1
Euro - 8.6
The major currencies fluctuate +- a tight range of say 5% normally unless there is an unusual event
Sterling right now is vulnerable to more severe manipulation/fluctuations because of Brexit uncertainty, it is giving speculators and huge hedge funds opportunities to drive it up or down - a dirty game of manipulation and feeding the moves with news stories as they go
The Thai BHAT is just being used like a door step - it is not strong enough to float on its own and yet it is floating, Thailand can do nothing about this by any normal fiscal means - the only way is to either print money or a revaluation - both could cause a sudden downward spiral, they failed to control it over a longer period and now it is out of control

All this over reaction about having to visit a Immigration Office a few extra times a year is pathetic
you should only need to register your permanent address once - up to a hotel to register a temporary one if you are touring

If you download the latest app from them, Section 38, for sending 90 day reports on Android it give permission for them to access your location.
exactly why I do not install Gov apps on my phone and advised the same months ago
you can of course block these permissions on the latest versions of Android but then the app may not work

No! At Changwattana if you arrive before the queue closes (4pm?) they stay open to process everyone. I sometimes go late in the afternoon.
If everyone shows up every Monday, officers will soon be exhausted, some may resign. That's the way to change TM30! No need to go anywhere, just say you did. Fill out one TM30 except for the date and make 100s of copies.
And do it Thai style, show up with a big smile, "Hi, I'm here to file TM30!" Lol. They will change their mind fast.
not a bad idea

It's already been pointed out in other threads that your home bank may use a correspondent bank (either at home or in Thailand) with the end result your deposits are coded as domestic transfers and no good for the 65K monthly route.
correct
Nationwide in UK use HSBC in Thailand for swift transfers

I bet a lot of Brits wish they would have transferred their 800k over a few years ago. Seems to be a UK specific issue, not a visa issue.
no it isn't

USD - 14%
EURO - 15%
GBP - 18%

what I find troubling it the work I am having to do just to stay within the ridiculous rules they are now enforcing.
- Report this report that on a certain date or if you do a certain thing
- Banking restrictions
- Transfer fees
- Thai currency inflation/manipulation (the BAHT should not be a floating currency)
- Go for a pleasure ride for a few hours and get stopped/harassed by cops every 30mins
- Jump through hoops legally trying comply with financial requirements while others just bypass these rules with agents and bribes
- Travel in country for a few days using hotels and they can't work out I still stay at my primary residence of many years. What they need is a simple dual system, one that allows people to register a permanent residence designed for expats and retires, then another system/process for short stay, it would show your movement in country but not effect your registered permanent address until you actually decide to change it.
I am retired but it doesn't feel like it, I am working with this stuff so much now that I should probably have a work permit - maybe that is next

one of the other issues is the need to show balances after you have completed a 12 month extension of stay, 3 months of 800kbaht and a continuous balance of 400kbaht
It was said this was introduced to stop the use of agents getting 12 month extensions for those who could not meet the financial requirements - it seems to have had the opposite effect and was a pointless rules change that now ties up money 800kbaht for almost 6 months - this is money that would normally be used for living expenses - having it tied up for 3 months was acceptable but this extra strain post 12 extension is pointless.
I personally don't have issue with maintaining a minimum 400k baht 12 months a year as I was doing that anyway and it is always handy to have a slush fund for emergencies
But the 5 months now of 800k baht is just over the top and there is no rational reason for it since the reason for its introduction has not made any difference to the use of agents and backhanders to bypass the financial rules - a simple bankbook check looking back 12 months on next renewal would have provided the same information - you didn't have the funds

An IO may have access to the last extension paperwork. A retirement ext done by an agent would not have the bankbook copies I submit confirming the seasoning.

No, the agent converted to a Non O and extension in one hit.
no the agent didn't - the IO did which is very normal
you really are blowing it out your ***
I have gone through this process years ago without an agent - it is all normal up until the point you don't have the seasoned funds - that is what you are paying the bribe for - not meeting the financials
I'm done with this petty nonsense - I am surprised at you, your posts are usually informed and accurate and not this baiting trolling nonsense

Read the OP.
He entered on a 30 day VE entry.
yes and he converted to a type O and then it was extended
Like I said there is no rule that states it must be done in the last 30 days of the 90 - if there is show it to me otherwise stop making stupid arguments - we deal in fact here

2. when jomtien issued my NON 0 imm visa the date was 19 jun 2018 and the date of my retirement extension was issued the date was 25 jun 2018 with a expiry date 16th Sept 2019 pathum thani immigration wanted to know why only 6 days between my NON 0 imm visa and retirement extension being issued.
it is up to you when you apply for an extension during the validity of a 90 day Visa - you might have wanted to apply early because you were leaving the country
Provided you had the seasoned funds 2 months prior to the extension application then it matters not a jot, granted most people wait until the last 30 days of the 90 days because they have the seasoned funds by then
The only way an IO will know you used an agent is to check you bank records around the date of your last extension - it would be very obvious you didn't meet the required financials

No. he's not.
My mate was offered a back hand extension directly from an IO in Jomtien 3-4 years ago on his first ever visit to Thailand. He refused the offer and did thing 'legally'. But the offer was to change his 30 day exempt to a 90 day non O, then give him a 12 month retirement extension and a multi re-entry permit, all for 15k and completed in about three days.
Even without other 'anomalies', He couldn't open a bank account before he arrived here so it was impossible for him to have seasoned the 800K baht for three months. The process he was offered had to be illegal for that reason alone.
The only part of what you describe (that wasn't legal) was not having the funds in the bank, there is no stamp in the passport stating this, I would also assume there is nothing in the system that states it either
The OP's system record and passport are exactly the same as anyone's that didn't use an agent, so unless this information was provided by the OP I don't see how the IO was aware - except ………………….…...
The only way an IO could detect some issue (agent use) would be to look at a banking history around the date of previous extension, it would be pretty obvious that the previous financial requirements were not met

That was because you applied for an extension of stay based upon retirement not one based upon marriage to a Thai.
There is a 30 day under consideration period when doing them.
so he could apply for one based on retirement - problem solved
