  1. The reds in CM are well known for killing poeple, beating up farmers and gays.

This has got to be a joke! yellows have stooped to new depths with this post - just read it again dear readers:

'The reds in CM are well known for killing poeple, beating up farmers and gays.'

Have you been keeping your appointments with your nice Doctor? funny how none of these 'killings', 'beatings of farmers and gays' have reached the newspapers or TV.

    Edit: posters name added

Well I guess you dont read Chiang Mai news. They do kill people.

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Red-Shirt-Mu...rs-t354499.html

I noticed in today's national press that the court in Chiangmai has sentenced five men to 20 years in jail for the murder of the father of a key member of the yellow shirt People's Alliance for Democracy.

One of those convicted is the chief security guard of the red shirt Rak Chiang Mai 51 group, Niyom Lueangcharoen, who has jumped bail and was last seen on the stage of the current demonstration in Bangkok. I trust he will be apprehended very soon.

I think it is time ChiangMaiFun tries to get himself informed. Ever heard of CM51 for instance? They are NOT nice people.

I sent you a link regarding another very NOT nice person. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suthep_Thaugsuban

I posted this a few times now and no comments. Unlike yesterday when I mentioned Patpong and received 8 immediate flames for even suggesting that some Bangkok expats may be missing the scene.

Shows the priorities again on the yellow side of the fence.

  2. Nutthawut to Allow Soldiers to Proceed to Southern Border Provinces

BANGKOK: -- Key red-shirt leader Nutthawut Saigua has ordered, via a telephone-link, the red-shirt protesters who are gathering at Khon Kaen train station to allow the train carrying soldiers, military equipment and supplies to pass through to the southern border provinces.

However, Nutthawut demanded that a number of red-shirt protesters be allowed to accompany the train to ensure that the soldiers were not going to be sent as reinforcement for military forces that are being assembled to allegedly prepare to disperse the red-shirt protesters in Bangkok.

Unbelievable! What kind Commander in Chief would allow a two bit tin horn like Nutthawut dictate to the army where their troups can go and under what conditions? Try this in any other contry and sit back and watch what happens.

They are all Thais at the end of the day. Red, Yellow, Pink, Blue we will never fully understand the way things work here. We must try though.

Troops and police in any country can only operate with the consent of the population. Sheer numbers, even when you are fully armed, will overwhelm you most of the time. It's percentages and there are a lot of people in the North of the Country who really do need to be listened to this time.

The violence stopped on 10th when the Army asked for a truce and the red-shirts stopped chasing them. The upper hand had clearly been gained by the reds and they didn't press their advantage against their brothers. It was fair play on their side, they were attacked, they responded and won, they were merciful in victory.

Quite clearly some redshirts were stopping the violence and helping the army remove injured. They are brothers under the skin, and a good football tournament which they did well in would improve the situation here no end.

  3. No I just think that ONE thread is adequate for discussion of the historic airport incident. It is clearly a pro red propaganda tactic to bring it up on every thread and harp on it endlessly, to prevent people from actually discussing the current events. I never said banish people, I clearly expressed a desire that the threads be moderated in such a way that the efforts to make ALL threads about the airport be prevented. It really isn't fair to people who want to talk about current events.

Its current as a lot of newbies were not here then. They think evil begins and ends with Thaksin.

We should, at every stage, compare the treatment of the PAD with the treatment the Redshirts are getting. Why, some of the airport invaders are even in positions of power now and screaming at the army to remove protesters from the streets. Then, threatening to do it again if anybody other than the Democrats are ever elected back into government.

When the double standards stop, there will be no need to contrast these differences.

Sorry your attempt at news management failed.

Perhaps if you posted with more depth than your usual sneers, smears and trying to get posts banned, you could add something to the debates. You don't actually talk much about issues, you snipe from the sidelines.

  4. PART TWO (Edited)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suthep_Thaugsuban So you read the profile. Now read on to see how it impacts today and why he is in such a powerful position.

Thaksin when he was in power ordered an investigation into this scandal and sent down a team in helicopters to survey the land. It was a sort of "Get foreigners off our land" type thing, but we all knew (all Thais certainly knew) who the targets were.

These very powerful people who own this land (am sure you have googled this, unless you are just o nhere to snipe) then saw Thaksin as a threat to their position. It was part of a wider campain on Thaksins part to dismatle this elite system of Army, coucillors, courts, etc.

This land is still there and any potential buyers only have to do a bit of due dilligence (it is a lot of land and they will do it) and hey presto, it still cannot be sold.

So, until they establish full control over everything in Thailand, there are areas where they (the elites) are scuppered. Land and assets they cannot realise or dispose of. Phuket was but a part of it, but I was there at the time and remember it well.

Don't wish for the end of the Reds until you are sure you know your yellows. Believe me, this man is the man in charge now and it is him pushing the other generals to act independelty of Anupong.

The Air Force cheif also pipped in today which was a shot accross the bows of the Army chief in the OP!!

Remember also, and learn you newbies about FBA2 which the elite tried to push through after the coup and just before the rigged election. That would have rid Thailand of most of us and had our homes repossessd.

If you only read TV, look at those old posts on here.

I often right, even if you think I am only right when I post in other sections. Believe me, I am right on this.

    What utter Nonsense Sir.

Actually, he got it exactly right. Sounds like you are another one of these guys who make every excuse in the world for the yellows SEIZING AN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, with no jail time for anyone, and no crackdown and yet cheer for the end of the reds.

Thanks for the support. I have also posted Thaugsabuns profile on another thread. And none of the Yellows have a clue about him. It can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suthep_Thaugsuban

If you reprinted that and changed the Name to Thaksin, it would be posted on here within minutes as proof of what a crook thaksin was.

The Special Branch police put the crowd at 40k, so anotherpeters mate must have run out of fingers. I think they must just count them when they are at the stage and missed the other 34 thousand who were sleeping, eating etc. Unless they are saying 34,000 people just walked away.

  7. So back to the real post.

The CRES (note, not the army who are supposed to be in charge) have sent four companies of police and army to rescue this train.

10 more train nappings and the CRES is at full stretch!!! or is that overstretched.

This is the means of maintaining power this time.... the CRES are trying to run the show, undermine Anupong and Abhisit... well. Nice haircut is about all he is bringing to this process.

That great ex PAD member is now in charge of CRES. Wonder if he ever read about Mussolinni! He better leave a lot of forces around his base for the rest of his life now.

Sorry BASIJKE, there is a full report on it, the log and the pylone on Bangkoks remaining plausible news outlet. Sorry you don't like to leave the safe confines of ASTV and the Nation.

    Again more UTTER NONSENSE.

My claims re the train and CRES are on the news, in the papers and on the internet. Back your claims up then. You have to take your news from a variety of outlets to get a broader view.

Then you will be able to post rather than just sneer and flame. It's a big step but you can do it.

Try Wiki for some background, try google for some background. Human Rights watch report saying PAD have Fascist tendencies.

Get out of this forum more mate and learn something. You don't know who you are blindly backing. It is not a football match to cheer on and shout about.... but hey, live in ignorance if you like, but don't blame me when your posts are easily picked apart.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suthep_Thaugsuban Why not start here. I picked the highlights out for you. Disqualified MP, distributing land in Phuket. What a contrast to Thaksin!!! Now you are at a stage where you can start to think about thaksin not being the beginning and end of corruption. I know this land and if you knew who owned it you really would be on to something. Why not find out? It's easy, and most in Phuket know this.

    1995 Corruption Scandal

The Democrat Party won elections in 13 September 1992, shortly after Black May, and formed a government. Suthep became Agriculture Minister. As part of the Sor Por Kor 4-01 (สปก.4-01) land reform scheme, Suthep gave title deeds to 592 plots of land in Khao Sam Liam, Kamala and Nakkerd hills of Phuket province to 489 farmers. It was later found that members of 11 wealthy families in Phuket were among the recipients. Unrepentant, Suthep addressed a huge crowd in his Surat Thani constituency a month before a no-confidence debate and called on his supporters to march on Bangkok in their hundreds of thousands to defend his reputation.[1] The scandal led Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai of the Democrat Party to dissolve the House of Representatives in July 1995 in order to avoid the no-confidence debate. In subsequent elections, the Chart Thai party won a majority, leading to the downfall of Chuan Leekpai's Democrat Party-led government.[2]

This guy arranged a mob to come to Bangkok and forced HIS OWN government out of office.!

    2009 Disqualification as MP

In 2009, Suthep was accused of violating the Constitution of Thailand by holding equity in a media firm that had received concessions from the government. Under the 1997 Constitution of Thailand, which Suthep had supported, Members of Parliament are banned from holding stakes in companies which have received government concessions. In July 2009, the Election Commission announced that it would seek a ruling by the Constitutional Court to disqualify Suthep and 12 other Democrat MPs for having allegedly violated the charter. Suthep held a press conference a day later, announcing his decision to resign from Parliament. Suthep's resignation as an MP did not affect his status as Deputy Prime Minister and as a Cabinet member. If his case had been submitted to the Constitution Court, he would have been suspended from duty as Deputy Prime Minister. He insisted that his resignation was not a proof that he had done something wrong but that he was worried about status as Deputy Prime Minister.[3]

So you see, the CRES is run by this character that I have been Banging on about for weeks not. If his name were Thaksin, the PAD would be running him out of town.

But that's only a dream, He is now there sole hope of keeping power for their backers.

  9. I believe peace should always be the first option but in a case where insurgents have seized a train full of weapons ... there needs to be no warning given and F16, tanks and Black Hawks should have immediatly been dispatched and to take out the insurgents and if needed all the military equipment (train) to prevent these guerrillas.

Do not be fooled, this was an act of war. An immediate and forceful response is the only way to respond. By not doing this, then you encourage more actions like this from others. Until Thailand shows it is unacceptable to attack authority (police / military) there will be no respect for the law and civilians who want to take arms for bad intentions will simply do this again or do like the Reds have done in BKK.

The comedy section can be accessed via the main panal. Nice of you to try and being some light relief to the debate, but you could have stopped short of absolute hillarity.

The Airforce are more likely to attack the army.... which shows how much of Thai history you know.

  11. It's ok, the Air Force commander has just joined the fray.

Sorry can't link to it on here, you will have to look elsewhere.

He is saying that the Mulitcoloureds must respect the law and that the country belongs to everybody Red, Yellow anything.

F-16 attack on the CRES anybody?

Also, Special Branch Police reporting 40,000 reds on site.

Many prevented from bolstering site planning second protest site!!! This crowd is only static because of some serious blocks in the area.

Disperse this and it will move one two blocks if they are lucky and spread to all of Bangkok if they are not lucky. Instantly that is... no 6 weeks preparation for a panicked mob fleeing the army guns. INSTANTLY!!! 40,000 vengeful people will probably show to the CRES, that they really have been peacful all this time.... It's all relative.

Might even affect Nana Plaze if they drive them that way!!!!

  12. So back to the real post.

The CRES (note, not the army who are supposed to be in charge) have sent four companies of police and army to rescue this train.

  13. So the crack down on the reds in Bangkok is solving the problem.

More problems will come if they don't give up their tenuous grip.

More problems will come if they dont resolve the grievances of the reds, such as poverty, inequality , and fair democratic elections right away.

Otherwise getting rid of the protesters will solve nothing in the long run ,, and some day things like this fuel depot will be hit real hard ,,,can you imagine the damage to the Thai economy if that place went up in flames.

It supplies the airport with most of its fuel. Yesterday they stopped a military train up north. There is no end to the kind of chaos they can create if grievances are not addressed.

    Absolutly right you are.

Many on here think that its just a quick march up Silom, back off home for the farmers and back to the Expat life of shopping, hi-so bars, big cars, cheap beer and women.

As you point out, there is a massive country to control and these elites have offices, branches factories to visit outside of Bangkok. If they feel unsafe in Bangkok with (as the media have it :) ) 6,000 reds in town, how are they going to feel if they have to leave the city!! How are they going to protect Bangkok against a real insurgency?

If the armed faction in the midst of the red shirts have vanished (as Jingthing seems to think 8000 others went home over night), are they going permanently to ground? Are they sat about watching Thai Soaps, or are they planning more problems. Will their support up north deplete if they see more death on the streets?

These are warning shots. The Fuel dump, the power plant in Ayudyha, the Bangkok Bank branches. Kill more farmers and this country is Somalia!

Negotiations are called for and it is a few nut jobs under elite pressure fanning the flames now. Only PAD wanting violence and they have the CRES helping to organise it for them as well now. If the UN and HRW can see through the CRES, they will have cracked it.

  14. And he is not in charge. Watch your back mate. If he shouts fire, who knows which way the bullets will be flying. Certainly Thailand will be flying up the UN's list of oppressive regimes and even onto US sanctions lists.

PAD, the people who wrested power from the People on the premise they were too stupid to vote, through mob rule and army control by their elite backers are now coming back on to the street to ensure that the power is not returned through the ballot box.

Can I have accurate soundbite of the day for that please on the BBC?

Nice organisation and I am not surprised they are disguising themselves as multi colourted protesters.

Once the yellow shirts go on, then the army will split.

Geesh never really took note of your posts much before but you are a crackpot I see.. time to ignore your ramblings. Why are so many of the RED-farangs unstable?

Oh no need to answer won't be read

Vacuous post only help the cause. Carry on posting mate. Sorry that you will not see my witty reply now I am on your ignore list. Or did you lie about this as well...... we will soon see.

    OT

Sounds fair enough to most and am sure it will sound fair at the UN.

An election looks like democracy in action.... as opposed to a coup, constitution change and Elite (cant say army now as they are not keen to back them) mob closing an airport.

Think the call for Democracy gets lost here sometime.... what say you traderjm? oh, you won't see this will you, and in any case you never offer much other than sneers and insults.

    Missing you already

  15. And he is not in charge. Watch your back mate. If he shouts fire, who knows which way the bullets will be flying. Certainly Thailand will be flying up the UN's list of oppressive regimes and even onto US sanctions lists.

  16. Not understandable to me how a bunch of reds can keep blocking a train.

tsjoek tsjoek tsjoek.................help a train is riding over me.Problem solved.

Well for an experiment, next time you see a felled tree in the road or one of those massive contrete pylone, why not try and ride over it! Then imagine, instead of a road (rail) there is a hole (the rails are missing).

It's very basic stuff but you miss so much when you put on your clever comments. If there was more happening today I would just have smiled and tut tutted.

Well, thats your 15 minutes of fame. I have responded to you. AND I was right..... unless you have a magic bike :)

  17. If this incident does not make a total fool of the military, nothing will. I can envision no other country on earth, where hundreds of military can be told "you cannot got anywhere, you have to stay here"

300 military vs 1000 protesters, not even a contest. And if I was the general in charge, and my local commander did not act, I would dispatch 10,000 troops to make sure this ended IMMEDIATELY!!

you are seriously saying that 300 armed soldiers are no match for 1000 protesters?

They are if they want to fight them...... but as you are seeing more and more, the army is red and the Navy only have 20k or so members so would be outnumbered an outarmed by the police for starters. Unless the governments opponants all moved from the north to the coastal areas, the Navy is not going to be able to do much.

From where? how will they get into such hostile territory? Will the locals let them in? the locals are now armed and most of the Army when they were that far north are in serious risk of swapping sides. Do you send 10,000 soldeirs to every kilometer of railway line, petrol dump, Bangok bank branch, ASTV going to need guarding soon by the look of it, AND still have troops to cover Bangkok and protect the government who are hiding in their barracks?

War games are ok on the playstation, but in real life this does not happen. Please look for an interactive wargaming site if you want to persue these arguments.

  18. Why did'nt the army and police force crackdown on the yellow protestors when they took over government house and the two Bangkok airports. If they had have done the present situation with the Red Shirts might not have happened.

If you recall, they did try a crackdown at the government house and somchai was blamed for killing many people, same scenario, that was the events of October 7 2008 or 2007

The crackdown would have been succesful, but the PAD had the army to protect them from the Police. They were driven back and could have been ousted then.

BUT as always with double standards there was great mouring for the dead (rightly so in my mind) protesters, which has not been seen in the wake of the murder of poorer people who do not support PAD.

PAD were an easy nut to crack for the Police. They were just prevented from doing their job by the PAD's backers.

  19. Now I read that Dr. Weng is going to the UN Building to appeal for the UN to send peacekeeping troops to protect the red shirts from the government. What the hel_l?

All propaganda to show how the "poor peaceful" reds are threatened by the government - who falls for this BS I don't know, but I'm sure there are a few here in this forum

Might not fit the PAD spin, but to an outsider it looks like the reds are corralled in with the Army guarding the massing PAD muppets.

The only side likely to attack is from the PAD hardcore who under Thaugsabum are being organised and armed.

I think the Army is playing it well though. They could yet turn on the CRES which is where most of the vile hatred is being spewed from these days. We see more of them and their secret police state tactics than Abhisit. They obvisouly are behind calling in the Navy as well so will be in Anupongs bad books as I think he could really solve this problem if he really has the free hand that Abhisit says he has.

Anupong for PM anybody? It looks like that or Newin to me more and more.

UN will certainly see it like this as they are not blind. They are just diplomatically silent on it.

  20. Wow, slow news day or what and Uncle Sam is sure getting it.

Why not propose a re-enactment of WW1? Toss a coin and distribute period costumes to either side based on who calls what on the toss.

This will keep the Expat happy if the Thais descend into Civil War and also give a western flavour to the event. Various military experts on here could offer up tactics to the leaders of the Reds and PAD.

OT, whats wrong with calling for a peaceful solution?

Unless you mean against the Germans!!! :) Now that is a sore point if you mention the other protaganists in the Wars. Much better to snipe at the yanks about WW2.

We had a monty python theme day on here yesterday, why not a fawlty towers one today? Don't mention the war! (or in my case, don't mention Patpong doh!)

  21. And you suggest they NOT use the slingshots and get hit with a Molotov cocktail instead?????

I didn't get one thrown at me.... because, I WAS NOT THERE!!! the cretins moved to the area to inflame the situation. Am surprised at you backing this. I won't say you didn't notice it because I know you read a lot and I know you can see what is happening at CRES overruling Army and Abhisit. You obvisouly still back them despite their trying to escalate the crisis.

This on the day when third party talks were mooted. The PAD masters don't want this to end any other way but in bloodshed. It's the only thing that might keep them in power long enough to get their next great white hope shoed in, who will be Newin. Prefer him to Thaksin? Up to you, but thats who is their next man, and you will not get him out with PAD, Grannies or Army. Promise you that as they will be dead before ASTV could say boo. Assuming they let ASTV run anyway.

Careful guys when you think my enemy's enemy is my friend. Not true, espescially here

There is a SOE in the area. The CRES has screamed again for it to be inforced IMMEDIATELY, by the increasingly shrill minister for propoganda and shoring up the Elite. He meant against the reds though so obviously the PAD were allowed free reign to attack.

That is until 2 molotovs were thrown at them and they ran off. Bet Thuagsabum wishes the reds would turn tail so easily. Anyway, its clear to see that the powers have decided that he should be given free reign to get up a mob as large as he needs.

  22. I noticed in a news report yesterday that a red shirt leader said that they had no weapons behind their lines (ie sharpened sticks, grenades, acid, petrol bombs etc).

Yet, last night, in their discussions with this group of locals there was a couple of petrol bombs thrown.

They were thrown by "fake" red shirts, weren't they?

    Locals?

You mean the illegally gathering terrorists that Thaugsabum and PAD have put their to inflame the situation.

The red camp is static, so any idiots there have GONE to the problem.

Wake up man and stop appologising.

  23. So, protest holding.

Looks like a long day crying in the wilderness again for the fasicits.

will today be the day we can persuade the army to kill!!!

Dream on, this country gets redder by the day.

So Pedro, if Puea Thai cannot, Whats the problem with elections. That is to say, elections without changing boundaries and rules and army chiefs.

I hope it i a day of negotiations today. I see much movement on TV and some softening on both sides in the MIDDLE. So long as I don't mention Patpong today, I shouldn't be flamed as much yesterday.

Anyway, don't you PAD supporters on here have TEFL to teach today?
