stop tipping at beer bars unless you buy a few drinks.i used to tip at least 20b even if had one drink but now the rules are 1-2 drinks no tip after that maybe 10-20b.if the ladies want to increase their st i will decrease my tips lol lol.

A mate of mine lives on over 200,000 baht a month here in pattaya.

he drinks every night at 120 baht for a drink X 30 average X 7 days = 25,200 baht a week without st/lt

i know this is only 1 example of how not to live,but the point is,if you had more money would you go out more,eat at more at expensive restaraunts,have a bigger house,maid.

My step son is in a small private school and we want for nothing,and my life is brilliant compared to working 12 hours a day in the uk,life is bliss.

the answer to the original post is if you are on your own,living in Pttaya i would think its much better to live here on 30,000 a month than still working in uk but you realy need health insurance if one hasnt got money put to one side.

maybe you can open a laundry/massage parlour,beer bar,we realy need more of these too.

This is the bad side of thailand,not the thais,but the greedy farangs,including real estate agents who bump the price up.We have taught the thais very well regarding corruption and greed.One day these bad uns will go back to spain.

rule of thimb for me is dont tip a small place were the owner(s) are serving and cooking.tip larger restaraunts but dependant on the quality of food and service,andi never tip if the service is poor.

For me the vast majority of Thai women aren't prostitutes so I class Thai prostitutes in a different category from Thai women. Thai women are wonderful and make great wives and girlfriends. maybe this tells me that a few farangs in bk are on police radar for drugs.this is a good idea to route out the bad farangs in thailand and i just wish they could do this in the uk.that would stop the drugs and weapons for a while.Happy to here the police are doing a good job in sleezy bk.

I have noticed over the last 6 months the bars are getting more aggressive to rip offs.Went into a bar on soi 7 and i take many friends in there and a girl asked for a drink and i said go away,as i hadnt even had my drink.we spent about 3,000 baht in there and when i chekced my bin there was 2 lady drinks,i questioned this and the cashier said i agreed to but,so i went mad with thme.they took out the 2 drinks tabs and i grabbed them back paid for them and said i will never ever got ehre again.

mamasan pleaded for me to take friends back but no way.

the thai women knew exactly what they were going to do so they were not vunerable and would be doing the same in oz as in thailand no doubt.

number 1 has to be for everyone to be fit and healthy,as you can do anything when one has these attributes.

if the shhhh hit the fan i could go back and claim dole and a flat/apartment and sell cheap ciggies and perfume,as some of my mates do,all cheap charlies and lazy gits.they earn big money though.

1/ sit it out for 8 years until i get my state pension and serps/sp2.living off private pension,interest on my money and a bit of thai baht left.

2/ sell assets in thailand and live off the 3 million baht for 4 years approx.

3/ move to a cheaper part of thailand

4/ cash my 70,000 gbp exec 5year bond,lose some money and live off that until i get pensions.

5/ go back to uk to work,no chance lol.

not too bad off as i dont need to cash gbp for at least another year so hopefully i can cash about 20k gbp and get a better return.
